Great. The idiot of a home inspector has made 3 major errors that have cost me money to disprove. Thank god for Dependable One and Mike. . It cost me $150 for the service call, but they saved me a lot of money and headache.

We've used Dependable One in the past with good results. This time, we had a problem with our GFCI circuit. Greg came out, inspected the entire circuit and replaced the bad GFCI outlet as well as another old outdoor outlet. I asked him about getting an Electrical Safety Inspection in the future and he said they could do that but he didn't push it as I didn't mention any other problems. Before he left, he asked if there was any thing else he should look at and I did remember one more outlet that was troublesome. He looked at it and did find an issue. After fixing it, he did think a Safety Inspection would be a good idea, sooner than later. A few days later, Greg came back with Nick and they went through our entire house. Other than replacing a few old outlets and bringing our kitchen circuit back up to code, we checked out all good. Greg and Nick were very professional and friendly. We very much appreciated the good job they did. I thought prices for both services were reasonable for the work performed and we're happy we got the Safety Inspection. We'll use Dependable One if we need electrical work in the future.

It went great. I received a call back from the owner Steve within 5 hours, and he had us on the schedule for the next day. Matthew came out, took his time and looked everything over. He was able to determine the problem, and got it fixed. He also educated us on some things with our townhouse, and wiring in general and made some great suggestions for us in the future. He was really knowledgeable and nice. We will definitely use Dependable One again as our go to electrician.

He is customer oriented giving me a call to let me know he was running behind on the time we were scheduled to meet. While I was explaining my problem he did some checks to find out if there were any other problems and found out it was a simpler problem than we thought it to be finding out I had some chaffing wire behind my sheet rock. He was timely, honest and gave me options to choose from as to what would be best for me. I made the decision and it worked out well. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of.

I contacted Dependable Electric due to a problem with the lights in my basement. When I called the owner answered the phone and was very responsive. I think that I called on a Friday and he offered to come out on the Monday, but I was going to be out of town, so I went with an 8:30-9:30 AM window on the following Tuesday morning. The electrician showed up at 9:30 but he very kindly called to let me know that traffic was bad (66 East - typical!) and that he would get there as soon as possible. He quickly identified the problem - a secondary wall switch was not providing power (I probably turned it off unknowingly) and checked the primary switch to see if it was capable of communicating with the other switch and due to the type of dimmer, it wasn't. He explained what was going on and why - so now I know! After that I had him look at two other issues. One was a similar problem where the switch was left in a non-state - that is in the middle - neither on nor off and once he pointed that out, the issue was quickly solved. Overall I was very happy with the service and found the electrician to be very knowledgeable and helpful. The only thing I wasn't really happy with was the cost. He was here basically an hour and the total bill came to $170 (after a $20 coupon for Angie's List members) which seems high. However, I would not hesitate to use Dependable Electric again.

Phoned Deoendable One on a Friday morning due to lights flickering at our rental property. Steve called me back within an hour and said he would make a service call to look into it that afternoon. He was prompt and communicated his arrival time and determined the problem was the breaker box overheating. The solution was to replace the box. He took pictures showing the issue, provided an estimate to replace it, and agreed to work with the tenant to coordinate the work, as we were about to leave for vacation. As promised, he made arrangements with the tenant and did the work the following week and was able to replace the box. The cost came in at the low end of his original estimate. He communicated efficiently, he left the invoice with the tenant, and we paid the company as soon as we returned from the vacation. I will definitely call Dependable One in the future for electrical needs and am comfortable recommending this company to others. The company also took care of the permitting required by the county and arranged/passed county inspection.

Service was outstanding, completed quickly, the electricians didn't mind me asking all kinds of questions about how stuff worked. They cleaned up after themselves, and did a great job patching the drywall where it needed to be cut. We're having them back for another job in two weeks.

I first Met Steve in 2010 when he was referred to me by another realtor to repair a small electrical problem for my client. He has taken care of countless home inspection issues for me for almost 6 years now. He's honest, prompt and his prices are very fair. Also quite the troubleshooter! I wouldn't think of calling anyone else!!

call Steve because my lamp post is not working in front of my house. I explained to him that it wasn?t working. He walked through troubleshooting over the phone and was able to fix my lamp post. I really appreciate his help and honesty. Being a woman, he can easily come over, make me fix something that is not broken and I wouldn?t know. I would call him again if there?s some other electrical issue I have in my home.

I can recommend Dependable One Electric without any reservations. Punctual, knowledgeable and professional. Steve and Mike replaced a chandelier in an entrance hall with a 20' ceiling. They took great care in protecting the hardwood floor and in taking down the old chandelier. With the new fixture, they fixed an internal wiring connection problem, ensured that the ceiling support was adequate by reinforcing it and took great care in ensuring the fixture was hung at just the right height. They also installed two dimmer switches to work specifically with the new LED candelabra bulbs. All done quickly, professionally and neatly. And they did this all at a very reasonable cost. I have worked with a large number of contractors in Northern Virginia. These guys were two of the best. I will definitely use them for future projects. If you need any electrical work done, I would highly recommend giving Steve a call. You will not be disappointed.

Very happy with the service provided by this small business. I found them on Angie's list when moving to the area. I needed a variety of small electrical services such as electrical outlets and wiring for overhead lighting. Prices were fair, and the electricians obviously knew their craft well. I was happy enough with their work to schedule another appointment to install wiring for a bath fan. I would use them again and recommend their work. Steve and Michael were both good to work with.

Provider came within a couple of days, on time, diagnosed the problem and fixed it within an hour at a reasonable price.

I have used Steve and Dependable One since 2004 and he is my go-to electrician. The work is always PERFECT and Steve, Mike, and John will always give you the straight story. They are worth the money--you will always be satisfied.

Michael was knowledgeable and answered our questions. He performed the work needed and was very pleasant to interact with. He arrived on time.

I called to receive an estimate. I spoke with an electricians on the phone, and we discussed the work to be done, including switch options. He was able to quote $825 for the 3 fan box and fan installations by phone. We discussed scheduling options, dates and times. I called back later that week to schedule the work. I was able to select a morning the following week to fit my schedule. A team of three (Mike, John and Nate) arrived on the scheduled day right on time. They were friendly and professional. They worked with the wires hot so my telework wasn't disrupted at all. Before starting work we confirmed placement of the fans, and looked over the fans and switch options for each room. Then they got right to work. During the installation they recommended that an older outlet, which was previously connected to the switch, needed to be replaced, and replaced it at no additional cost. The installations were completed in about 4 hours total, including clean up. They showed me how to work all the switches. I also asked if they could raise a hanging light fixture, and they were able to add that work on. We are very satisfied with the work. The fans are installed well and run quietly. All three installers were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend their work. The price was about what I expected, and was very competitive compared to previous fan installation work I've had completed.

I think they were fine but costly. Was 205 - 20.00 coupon. I know other electricians in the area do not charge that much. Would not call them again.

Mike and John were professional and courteous. They came on time and diagnosed the problems very efficiently. I would call them again for any electrical issue in future.

What a great experience! Jeff was awesome; he was early, diagnosed the problem quickly, and was on his way. I will definitely use him again and highly recommend him.

Our outside lights circuit was shorted after spring cleanup and mulching... ... a shorted buried cable was found by the lawn service, who volunteered to repair. Homeowner decided to call in an electrician, and Dependable was selected based upon Angies list reviews. Dependable One was called Monday morning, and scheduled for that afternoon. A couple of hours after the scheduled time, they appeared, after calling to tell us of the delay. The shorted cable was repaired within 30 minutes. Homeowner is happy with the quick response and repair. The bill was reduced at the prompting of the service technician by the Angies list discount.

Steve answered the phone on the first or second ring- driving to a job I assume. We started to discuss the problem with the electrical panel. He asked the perfect questions to isolate my DYI errors. He offered suggestion as to what the problem and stayed on the phone as I went to the basement to try his suggestions. EXPERT ADVICE WORKED. Problem solved. Thank you Steve. Dependable Electric will be my first call for any electrical work.
