Absolutely perfect. Arrived on time and went direct to the home inspection list taking care of every item needed. Took them about an hour - gave us a $20 discount for Angies list! Very professional and understanding of our need to correct specific home inspection items at minimal cost. Cannot too highly recommend. They were the second company we contacted as our experience with the first company was totally unacceptable. We have written a review for them as well.

I contacted Dependable to replace a ceiling fan in our sunroom along with a defective circuit breaker. Left a message around noon on Tuesday and had a callback later that day to schedule an appointment for Wednesday. The technician arrived on time and spent a few minutes looking at the fan before diagnosing that it really was not broken, but needed some adjustment which I felt comfortable doing myself. The circuit breaker was also fine - it just needed to be reset which is something that I will know for the future. It would have been easy for the technician to replace both the ceiling fan and breaker and I would not have known the difference at twice what I paid, so I have to give them high marks for honesty. I had already purchased a replacement fan which I returned making my net cost effectively $0.

I called last week (Thursday) and left a message to see if someone would be available to repair a florescent light figure in our kitchen. Steve called me back the next day and scheduled an appointment for this afternoon (Monday) to have someone come out and look at it. We scheduled a two hour window. He was friendly and courteous on the phone, and provided up front information about pricing. We agreed that I would purchase possible replacement fixtures in advance. Steve called this morning to let me know Greg was on his way. Greg arrived on schedule. He was courteous and professional. He looked at the fixture and said he would check it out and install the new one if needed. He replaced the fixture and it is working as expected. Greg also patiently waited to allow me to print out and use my Angie's list coupon ($20 off a service call). A great experience overall. I will definitely use this company again.

They sent two people. We were very pleased with the service. He went up into our attic and found a gas pipe that wasn't connected. I'm really glad they went up there, peeked around, and helped us out with that. We were able to get someone to fix the problem. I was very, very happy with their service. I found them on Angie's List.

I was eager to have this work done asap and Steve accomodated my tight schedule by giving me an evening appointment just two days after I contacted him. He took care to protect my wood floors before beginning and he cleaned up the little debris there was after the work was completed. He is very knowledgeable and professional. He did a great job. He estimated the total cost for all work as $250-$400 over the phone. The final charge was $255. I'm already thinking of future projects I'd like him to handle for me when I'm ready. I highly recommend him.

Great! Came on a day that was convenient for me. Called me at my office to tell me they were on the way. They were neat, quick and professional. Did a great job and the price didn't take my breath away. It was about what I expected.

Dependable was not my first call, but they were very responsive and able to send an electrician within 48 hours. I had installed a new tankless hot water heater and did not have a plug within the required distance to meet code. When I called Dependable I explained I needed a new outlet in a location where none existed. The electrician (Mike) came after stopping for supplies - he called to let me know where he was and when he expected to arrive since he was running a little late. The work took about 2 1/2 hours as he needed to run a line through the furnace area and out the other side to get to my electric panel. He worked straight through with no unnecessary chatter. Very professional and the work is excellent. I paid $335 for labor and $75 for materials. When it came to write up my bill it dawned on him that I needed a permit. That was a miscommunication on my part. I should have gone and gotten the permit and had it ready. I had made the assumption that Dependable, experienced working in the area, would know that coming in and not proceed without it. I also assumed they would take care of it, but I had not asked or mentioned it. Any new circuit or outlet requires a permit in Arlington. When he returned with the invoice I found they were charging me $300 to get the Arlington permit. My experience with past permits for a variety of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work were that they ran from $105 to $120 - but it had been some years since I had electrical work done and was not up-to-date on those fees. I also was running late for an appointment and figured I could sort it out with the company later once the permit was provided and I could see the charges. The permit was around $105. So I called Dependable and talked to Steve and he told me they charge $300 because of the process in Arlington where you must send someone to the offices rather than do it on-line as other jurisidictions allow. It covers the permit and however long it takes to get it. Having been to the Arlington offices to get a permit myself years ago, I understood the need for the company to recover some of the time charged, although the amount surprised me. It added 40% more to the cost. I should have asked for a ballpark estimate prior to the electrician arriving. I should have verified they would have the permit and the charges for same - or should have taken the time to get it myself and paid a whole lot less. My mistake was not doing the diligence I normally do in my haste to get the work completed. Did Dependable have some responsibility also to know the requirements for the work and have asked about the permit in advance? Probably, but the real responsbility was mine as the homeowner.

Called and set up appointment with owner. They scheduled quickly. Arrived late due to delay on prior job, not their fault. Quick, clean, professional - exceeded expectations! Price was less than that quoted by Lowe's for a simple installation without wiring.

It was a very refreshing experience to deal with a professional that represents his company so well with the customer service he provides.

Dependable One arrived on time; placed cloths on wood floors and carpeting where they would be walking. One person worked in the attic while another one worked on a different floor, then they both teamed up to complete a specific wiring task. They are friendly, will talk amoung themselves, or to you; the interaction is at the level you indicate. I have had them work through their lunch and sometimes they would take a lunch break in their truck. They indicated that the entire job would take x-hours and they were spot-on; they know what they are doing! They are very professional and I have never heard them discuss previous customers. When completed we went to every installation and made sure I knew how to operate and/or demonstrated that everything worked. Cleaned up everything without me having to point anything left behind.

While he was here, my wife requested him to fix two fluorescent fixtures in our kitchen, which he did. They still are working, two months later, so I am pleased with the quality of the work. This was the origin of the $95 charge. However, he never has gotten back to me with the estimate I originally asked for. I called him a week later and he said he was working it. Another few weeks later, I e-mailed Dependable One and his wife told me that he'd been out of town but would get to my estimate soon. Two months later, I guess I can officially presume that he will not provide me an estimate for my rewiring request. So while I'd give him an A for the simple kitchen fluorescent fixture repairs, it would be balanced with an F for never getting me the estimate or calling me back with the courtesy to say it was too hard or beyond his capabilities or was prohibited by the local building code. Nothing... So overall it becomes a "C" grade. I still need a good electrician for the same project. I guess I will try some of the others on Angie's List.

Had an electrical outlet circuit failure (multiple outlets in two bedrooms went down at the same time). Contacted Dependable One via email and they responded to my inquiry within 24 hours (next time I'll call them instead, as I think that would be easier and even faster). Received a call from the Contractor who was able to fit me into his schedule the very next day. Contractor arrived as scheduled, quickly identified the problem (a single defective outlet), replaced an outlet, and resolved the problem. That particular circuit provides power to bedrooms and 2-3 times a year (during peak demand times) will overload/trip the breaker. I asked the contractor for a price estimate to upgrade that circuit. I knew this would be expensive but as long as he was there I thought I'd get a quote. Contractor provided a ballpark estimate, but then advised he didn't think it would be worth cost of upgrading and suggested instead that we plug high wattage items (i.e., hair dryers) into bathroom outlets (which run on a different circuit). Contractor was in and out in less than one hour. Total Cost = $96. Dependable One is now my first choice for electrical problems.

Called Dependable One and was able to schedule an appointment in two days. Got price quote over the phone. The technician and his helper arrived on time and proceeded to do the work. They performed the work efficiently and quietly. The ceiling fan was installed as requested and there no traces of their access to the ceiling fan. After their work, we asked the technician to look over some other connector and he informed us that it was not necessary to do any work. Seem very honest technician. Will call them for any future electrical work.

All the work was outstanding, and I appreciated their expert advice. They live up to their name.

Steve (the owner) called me to confirm that Michael (his employee assigned to do the work) was going to be early to see if I might be home (I was leaving work early to meet them). We linked up 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment. We really appreciated Michael's professionalism and effort to identify and remedy the circuit problem in the house. He found a short/loose screw in an outlet on a circuit that a previous homeowner had cut and powered the fans and lights in the two bedrooms. He also traced the circuit completely - which involved trips into the attic and onto each of the three floors in the home - not easy, but he was completely dedicated and professional. All told the work took 2 hours and the price was reasonable. As far as I'm concerned, Dependable One is my electrical team from here on - I won't call anyone else!!

Friday 7/15 I turned on the bathroom light and was surprised by sparks coming out of light switch, a frying of wire sound and flashing lights. I was leaving for vacation the next day and mentioned to a neighbor about my situation. She recommended Dependable One Electric who had done a great job for them. I cross referenced on Angie's list and saw the had a great rating. I was not able to call him until that evening and he had a booked schedule the following week. He said he would come in the morning to take care of it. He gave me a time and he called me when he was close by. He identified the problem with the switch immediately and saw the exhaust fan was in the same condition and fixed that one as well. For an emergency service the price was very reasonable. We also discussed some other electrical work and he provided me some ideas and solutions. I now have found my electrical contractor and peace of mind. Thanks !

We purchased a home and a number of items came out in the HI report. The attic fan was frozen. The wiring for the MBR ceiling fan was sub-par. The deck lighting didn't work. And the breaker for the A/C was overfused. Additionally, I wanted to see about prewiring the other two BRs for ceiling fans. It was a few days before Steve contacted me and I was almost about to pull the trigger on contacting a different electrician. I'm really glad I gave it one more day! Steve said he could make the date but would be finishing a job around 2pm so it would be a mid to late afternoon arrival. He called me when the were on their way to the house at around 2pm that day, as arranged, and I met them there. Steve and his associate, also Steve...I'll call them Steve1 and Steve2...got right to it. While Steve1 got up in the attic, Steve2 started on the breaker box and the deck lighting. Steve1 informed me that not only was the wiring between the ceiling fan and the attic fan sub-par it was dangerous. He chopped out everything including the junction box it all came out of and rewired the whole section. Meanwhile, Steve2 determined that what had happened in the breaker box was that two feeds had the opposite amp rating in them. The 40-amp line had a 30-amp breaker and the 30-amp line had the 40-amp breaker. Going back to Steve1, he needed to get up on the roof to replace the attic fan which was frozen and not just malfunctioning from the crappy wiring job. While he was up there, he hollered down to ask if I wanted him to cut back the tree branches from the house. I told him not to worry about it that I was going to get a tree guy once I figured out which trees were on my property and which trees were on community property. He said he was already on the roof and it wouldn't be a big deal. So I told him to go ahead. At this point, Steve2 let me know the deck lighting wasn't working because the low-voltage transformer was burned out. He said I could get one at the hardware store and I didn't need them to replace it. So, while Steve1 finished up in the attic, including installing a switch for the attic fan in the walk-in closet (so we didn't have to go into the attic to turn the fan on and off), Steve2 finished installing the boxes and prewiring for ceiling fans in the other two bedrooms. All in all, it was great dealing with them. They put tarps down in any area they were working to catch all the debris, so cleanup was fast. For the fact that I don't need to call a tree service now until those branches grow back, well, that's like getting the attic fan for free. I won't hesitate to call Dependable One for any future electrical work and I do recommend them. They just need to be a tad quicker on getting back to you after initial contact. I almost called #2 on my list! The quote for the attic fan including the switch was $450. I think the pre-wiring was $150 for each of the two BRs. I did need to have one of the breakers replaced and that was around $85. So, in the end, the quoted price and the actual price were essentially the same.

This work went as well as one could hope. The job involved installing three floor outlets in my family room (I had already purchased the outlets). The basement is unfinished, so that wasn't a challenge. The family room floor is covered in Berber carpet -- that *was* a challenge. Two employees showed up on time, spent quite a while with me ensuring that the location of each box was going to meet my needs, did the work professionally, and left the place clean and tidy. They weren't cheap, but they did a first-class job and the price was within the range that they estimated, so no surprises there. I'm most pleased.
