How'd it go? Badly. After complaining to the owner that his sales rep and crew were not seeing the construction problems in our house and were arguing with us, we found that the owner would also argue with us about the work that was done, disputing everything we said was wrong. To start with, the initial workers did not seal off the kitchen from the rest of the house, so drywall work, wood sawing, mud sanding, etc. made a complete dust pit of the entire floor - dining room, living room, bathroom, hall down to other rooms. Heat vents sucked in dust and spewed it throughout the rest of the house. They said that they would pay for cleaning, but that dust impregnated everything, the fibers of the rugs and furniture, and the place still seems dusty. The crew left construction rubbish on the front porch and sidewalk, and did not per contract remove debris daily. Our expensive granite counter (we chose it) was poorly cut to fit and does not have a nice smooth finish on the edge; there are chips in it that showed up after they removed the counter and recut it to better fit the sink. The cupboards are poor quality, the brads holding in the shelves show, doors were warped, replacement doors are also warped. The initial ceiling lights Cyrus installed were "accent" or "task" lights, not suitable for "ambient" light needed for a kitchen. These ceiling lights were also not rated for our ceiling, which has blown insulation; they overheated and blinked off routinely. Cyrus wanted to charge us for an "upgrade" of the lights when what we were requesting was the proper light fixtures specific to our ceiling. Only after we had our attorney convey our concern about the potential fire hazard that the initial ceiling lights created, did they agree to install the appropriate lighting. Our new kitchen sink was draining slowly and water would actually shoot up from the second sink when we turned on the garbage disposal. Cyrus claimed that it could have been like that before. It was not. They finally contracted a licensed plumber who cleared the drain and made it all work properly. The floor transition between kitchen tile and dining room hardwood was pieced together from scraps and was not a well-crafted job. Cyrus re-did the work two more times (after many arguments about craftsmanship), so we are accepting the results. Many pieces of the cupboard hardware were installed improperly or just plain crooked; that was easily fixed by Cyrus, but we had to point it out before they would fix it. After four weeks, when the installation crew left, the punch list of items to be "fixed" was up to 31 items. Although Cyrus sales rep claimed in the initial interview that they use licensed plumbers and electricians, they did not use them for our job until we complained about the work and requested licensed personnel to review and repair issues. A new gas line was installed for stove, but Cyrus said that a permit was not called for in the contract. However, our county requires a permit, so we forced the issue with them to ensure a safe and properly installed gas line. When the gas line was originally installed, Cyrus' installer did not relight our gas water heater after the gas was turned back on, even tho' the gas was flowing to the unlit pilot. We are grateful that we found this later in the evening before anything happened, when we ran low on hot water. After 12 weeks into our "3 to 4 week reno" plus 8 weeks of arguing, we gave them a final partial payment for the work done and told them their services were no longer required as we terminated our relationship with Cyrus Construction. We are having our private handy man finish off the kitchen.

I don't normally review anything unless I am either super impressed or extremely mad. And I have to say, I am so super impressed and extremely happy with my new kitchen. I just bought a house in Rockville area, and I hated the existing kitchen. After scrambling through the websites, I came upon Cyrus Construction. So, I gave it a try. From first call to the last hour that the crews were here, I had a smooth and great service, plus the absolute workmanship. James was so courteous and patient when I had him explain certain things to me over and over, again and again. The crews were punctual, and very polite. Whatever I want done, I just call the office, and I have it taken care of by the crews. Besides the service, they also have great selections of cabinet and granite counter top. The products that James presented to me are beautiful and of top quality. . Every time I walk in the house, I feel ?Good?! Great company to work with.

Cyrus Construction contacted me right away to schedule an appointment. They were very courteous and responsive to all of my questions. They were timely in arriving for the appointment and provided excellent renderings. I would recommend them and use them again.

If you saw my master bathroom you would think you were in an exclusive spa in Arizona. Yes, It is just that beautiful! I can't say enough about Cyrus Construction for making it happen. Russell is one of the best PM's I've ever worked with, very kind, patient and always making sure I was happy and satisfied with the work, choices of materials and costs. When you take on a project like this, Cyrus Construction is who you want with you on the journey! Not only was I pleased with their attention to detail, I also appreciated how I was able to get in touch with Russell or Ming as often as I needed. I always new they were just a phone call away, even leaving a message I knew I would receive a call shortly after. To me, communication is the key to the success of any project and I believe it was a great part of my success with Cyrus Construction. The vendors they used for materials were just as professional and easy to work with. I also have to mention Minh, who was here everyday and worked tirelessly until everything was just right! He is a building/design genius as well. This was my first time doing major work in my house and I am so glad I was led to Cyrus Construction to help me every step of the way. I highly recommend them! I can't wait to get them back for a kitchen remodel!

They were professional, but the 3D rendering was very basic and they did the basic for the price.

They did my cabinets, floors, appliances, countertops...everything! It is totally awesome! He replaced my utility room doors and installed a beautiful backsplash for my stove. They really did an excellent job! Every time I walk in my kitchen, it's as if I'm walking into a brand new house! Now I need them to do the rest of my place so they match! They did an excellent job working within my tight budget, and I'm bringing back in the Spring for some other projects. They deserve MORE than an A!

I was sent some drawings that I needed explained and was told I had to come into the store if I wanted help. There was no further follow up and I have since gone elsewhere.

They worked around my busy work and travel schedule for measuring my space, asking for my input on a number of design options, then scheduled an appointment at their show room to review their design, consider options for cabinets, flooring and counter top. All interactions were very professional, they listened to my ideas and provided options that I would not have thought of without a kitchen design specialist. A+ work product.

So, I started 2014 off with something different; a complete bathroom remodel! I was blessed to find Cyrus Construction aka Cyrus Kitchen and Bath on Angie?s List and based on their reviews and their tasteful Web Site I called them for an estimate. I received a return call from Russell, the Project Manager for Cyrus within 48 hours. He was very pleasant and scheduled a time to meet with me to discuss my project. When Russell arrived at the house, he was very friendly and clean-looking (which is very important to me). I invited him in and we went to the bathroom. Russell was very patient with me since at that time I was not sure what I wanted. He subtly gave me suggestions and ideas and that started the beginning of a new relationship. I think we first met in October and we talked off and on about the specifics of the remodel. I knew I needed a handicap/walk-in shower and he found a few choices for me to choose from. He even gave me an opportunity to ask questions and give some comments on the contract before I signed it. He was very thorough with ordering the materials and finishes and the project began on January 2nd. Russell?s team who performed the work was also wonderful to work with. Minh, like Russell is a perfectionist and neither of them missed any detail in the remodel. I am so pleased with my bathroom! It is now transformed from the standard builder?s bathroom to a custom, modern and safe bathroom that can be used by anyone! I really feel Cyrus Construction was the right choice for me! If you are looking for a bathroom (or kitchen) remodel, I would highly recommend Cyrus! They did such a wonderful job on the bathroom, that I have contracted them to remodel my master bathroom? stay tuned for my review of this project, so far I am very pleased!!

It is serving as a nice inspiration for me for saving money to redo my kitchen. They were punctual and helpful and it was a very good experience.

Cyrus construction provided us with a 3-D design of a kitchen remodel. The design was as we described it to them. Problems occurred trying to schedule the appointment at our home for the designer to see what we have and do measurements. He did not show up at the appointed time, nor did we receive a phone call indicating he would not come. However, He was very apologetic and arranged his schedule to meet with us at the next convenient time. One main issue is that they are only open weekdays during 9-5 business hours. That is not convenient for those who have full-time jobs.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. It was a good experience and we are still working with them. We got everything that was advertised. The person who came out, Russell, was very professional and his techniques were advanced, as advertised. He told us we would get our drawings and renderings by a certain date and they came a couple of days early so he was in advance of his own schedule. We could not be more pleased.

Cyrus representative came out to my house. Was very patient and knowledgeable. He carefully listened to what I was looking for in the kitchen remodel, what my concerns and desires were and took notes. Turnaround time for the finished drawing was extremely quick. Not sure if I will go with this company to purchase my cabinets and do the remodel but I was very pleased with the drawing and design they did for me. Product was well worth the money.

Because this was a restaurant, our remodeling project was done in stages. The first project was the dining area which included installing new floors, painting and rewiring electrical to provide better ambiance for our diners. The second stage was the bathrooms, they retrofitted both men?s and woman's bathrooms to be handicapped compliant, and remodeled it with new stalls, toilets and vanities. The kitchen was the most challenging remodel, but Cyrus designed the kitchen for better workflow for the staff and installed all new appliances for a clean modern look. I was referred to Cyrus through friends who had their kitchen remodeled by them and am very pleased with the outcome because they stayed on budget, communicated to me the process of the renovations and completed the projects in a timely manner.

I spent several months searching for a contractor to put into reality my plans for an upscale, tasteful, my neighbor, highly recommended Cyrus Construction. Cyrus Construction had remodeled her home several years ago and she was extremely pleased with the work, professionalism, and value. When I first met James, I felt instantly at ease with his very ?down-to-earth?, honest and extremely capable, competent approach. He delivered on his word (which most others did not) and promptly sent an estimate for the work which was fairly priced. Russell and his team, led by James, were equally professional, responsible, respectful of our home, honest and competent at the start and throughout the project I knew that we were dealing with a very professional team. I work full-time and often long, unpredictable hours, and are not able to be home, we felt completely at ease leaving our home in such responsible hands. I am thrilled with my new Kitchen and are now embarking on a larger remodel project for our basement and downstairs bathroom. We wouldn?t even consider using anyone but Cyrus Construction to do this project with us.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and they were okay. They were very competent. We chose not to use them.

Everyone was very professional and the service was provided as advertised. While the company obviously wanted to execute their designs, they were very respectful of our timeline and the fact that we were only considering what could be done and not looking to execute at that time.

I met with James, Marge and Bev at Cyrus to pick out the tile, cabinets, and counter top for my kitchen remodel. All were very helpful in making recommendations. Construction did not start until the cabinets arrived which is a good thing. James had provided a completion date of two weeks. The project was completed in 8 working days!! I was amazed at how efficient and quick the crew worked. The quality of work is great!! I am very pleased with my new kitchen. I will use Cyrus in the future for any of my remodeling requirements!! Great job Cyrus!!!!!!

Marge Greene came to our house, took photos, asked questions and got kitchen measurements. Later we went to their office to review a plan Marge and James had prepared. Because of some technical issues, we invited them to come to our house once again for additional design input. They happily did this and prepared revised plans that we recently reviewed. All in all, we think Cyrus Construction provided very valuable and timely input to our kitchen remodeling deliberations. At this time, we are still debating exactly how and when to proceed as we have not made final choices for some features of the design.

Outstanding service!! I contacted Cyrus and arranged for Marge to come to my house to take measurements of my Kitchen. She showed up on time and was very knowledgeable. Once the 3D drawings were complete I went to Cyrus' office where I met with James and Marge and went over the drawings. Great product! After reviewing the drawings I decided to enter into a contract with Cyrus for my kitchen remodeling

Marge was lovely. The other guy gave me a series of condescending lectures, didn't listen to what I asked for (even though I provided sketches and multiple conversations describing EXACTLY what I wanted), and when I asked him to provide a model of what I had originally asked for, gave me another condescending lecture on an unrelated topic. For example, he told me that I didn't want to move the powder room because the pipes were most likely cast iron. He looked at the pipes while he was onsite, they were all redone within the last 15 years to copper and PVC.

The Cyrus designer that we worked with, Marge, was very accommodating in setting up the site visit. She listened to our ideas and made several suggestions which we incorporated into the final design. The architect, James, provided great 3D renditions of our space which made the design easy to visualize. Both Marge and James were easy to work with and met with us on several different occasions. We also got two other bids which were somewhat higher than Cyrus. The design phase has gone well and we have selected Cyrus to do the revovation work

Estimate came back quite a bit higher than our stated budget. will not be using.

Two teams went in on the day appointed. The morning to take up the damaged carpet and the second to dry out the areas put in the new flooring and baseboard. What was not made clear was that there would be 2 teams, one early in the morning and one late in the afternoon. If there had been a single team to do the whole job at once, it would have been more efficient and not take time away from the tenant and landlord. As a result the second team did not leave the apartment until 9:30 p.m. Friday evening when it was thought everything would have been completed in the morning with the first team. Clearly a lack of communication from the vendor and excessive amount of time waisted. Additional note, the landlord assisted with some of the drying and debris removal to get the workers out faster Friday night.

Russell & James were very professional. They arrived on-time & took measurements of my cabinets. I made an appointment to meet them in their offices at a later date to look the renderings. They're beautiful & exactly what I wanted. They were patient in explaining the process of refacing vs replacing & the costs involved. I was thinking about some other changes in my kitchen & they provided information about that also. Russell emailed the renderings to me as soon as I left the office because they were in my inbox before I got home. Although I can't get to the refacing in the next few months, I look forward to working with them when I decide to get it done.
