This was my first time calling them and I noticed a $50 off plumbing coupon on their website so I mentioned this to the rep when I called and she said yes the service call would be $36.95 with the $50 off coupon. I said OK. The next day, the plumber came out and did a diagnostic check and found that DC Water most likely cleared it with their flush. I went to pay him and he said $86.95 and I told him about the coupon and he said that was for only repair and not diagnostic. I told him that even the first rep on the call said I would get the $50 off just for him coming out and he said no. I did not want to argue with him so I called them the next day and the second rep said it was only for plumbing repair. I said I understood that, but the coupon was not that clear and even the first rep told me I would get the $50 off. I said can you have your supervisor call me back? When he did, he would not budge on the $50 coupon even after I told him about the first rep telling me I would get it and the coupon being more general. Still nothing. I would have understood about all of this if it weren't for the first rep telling me I could get the coupon. So, not a five star service they advertise that is for sure.

The install was a little bumpy but overall it went ok. Problems started afterward and continue to this day. 1. I still don't have final paperwork and warranty package (will be notifying Carrier) 2. Called 3 times the last couple of months - including 8am this morning. Winter approaching and need to know Maintenance details. No call backs yet. 3. No call yet for winter checkup - keeping fingers crossed. 4. Their post sales service is not good. Slight buyers remorse. Should have stayed with previous provider - they were more expensive but great customer service. Lesson learned - do not make decisions based on cost alone. 5. It's getting cold - wonder how many times i will have to call back to get a maintenance contract.

It was very expensive. I've had replaced an A/C and a furnace and in both instances they failed to do something which when my renters went to go use the air conditioning it didn't work. When they went to use the furnace, it didn't work so the company had to come back and pull up the switch or tighten a connection like on the A/C, they didn't have the wires and the wire has tightened up. When the renters went to use the air conditioner, the fan came on but the air conditioner didn't come on. They had to come back again and do some work. Another instance when they did the furnace, they just didn't put the switch so they left. Without the switch flip, the furnace won't come on. Both instances, on the second day they had to come back and do something else just so we could use it. They were very responsive. As far as their customer service goes, they call, they show up, and they arrive on time. With that kind of thing, they're great, but it just seems they don't do a good job and they're expensive. I think they were very professional. I've been using CroppMetcalfe for years.

They are one of the major home entity people in this area. It was pretty much free because I have an annual contract for them to come out and check it. They are very trustworthy and they perform the work well. Their pricing may be a little high but reasonable.

They were on time, totally professional, and answered any question I had. My interaction with them and the work that they did were just fine.

When our home started getting hotter despite the fact that we had not changed the thermostat and we could hear the fan running, we discovered that the evaporator coil was frozen over. We called Cropp Metcalfe with whom we have a maintenance agreement and a technician came out to check the system. He discovered that the evaporator coil was leaking and we decided, given that our air conditioning system was 15 years old, to opt for replacement rather than repair. The Cropp Metcalfe sales representative came out the following day and gave us the options and pricing for a new air conditioner which we found reasonable. He arranged for installation the very next day, which surprised and delighted us since it was a very hot week. The installation was very smooth and the new unit works perfectly.

They were professional and did the work as needed.

We have a semi annual contract with them to check our heating and air conditioning system. We use them on a regular, ongoing basis. They will be out again soon.

We've been using them for 37 years. Before that, it was Simpson Heating & Cooling and then, when Simpson retired, CroppMetcalfe bought the business, but the quality didn't drop one iota. I have a plan.

They do a really thorough job and the price is pretty reasonable. The other thing about them is they offer levels to their service. You can pick how much service you want them to do. They usually contact us and say we need the maintenance check.

He was very responsive, fixed a vintage toilet without having to replace the whole unit. He liked the challenge and resolved the issues that no other company could.

In late February 2016, CroppMetcalfesales rep Eric Ettare came out to my home to give us the estimate on the Carrier HVAC system. While he was looking at the old HVAC, he told me that I probably needed to replace my 75 gallon hot water heater. He said that they were not making the 75 gal heaters anymore and would check if he could even get us one for $2400. He also did the measurements for the new Carrier HVAC and I asked him send me an estimate for both but I would not do the purchase and install until April 1 when the rebates from Carrier started for HVAC systems. Mr. Ettare finished up and told me that he would be getting back to me right away with hot water heater estimate and as soon as possible when he knew the Carrier rebates. It is now early April and I never received an estimate for the HVAC or hot water heater from Mr. Ettare or anyone at CroppMetcalfe. After doing some checking, it turned out that I could easily still get a 75 gallon hot water heater from multiple sources and found very good one with a 12 year warranty for $600 less. I also had two other Carrier dealers out to give me estimates on the HVAC during the same week in late February. Both were able to provide me with proposals by the first week in March that included Carrier's rebates for a system installed in April. We selected one of those other dealers and the new HVAC system will be installed tomorrow. Today I received a robocall from CroppMetcalfe reminding me that my service contract had expired. I accepted the robocall's offer to be transferred to a customer service person and was left on hold for more than eight minutes before I finally hung up. I can only wonder how long I would have had to wait on hold if I my HVAC when out when it was 100+ or -2 degrees and at their mercy under their pre-paid service plan. I cannot recommend them.

The service person came on time, did the job quickly and accurately.

They were prompt, with great pricing, and explained everything well. They were amazing.

Courteous, punctual and professional from scheduling appointment to actual service rendered. Technician Mario Martinez conducted a thorough inspection of my Weil-McLain gas boiler and found it working properly. No repairs required at this time but I plan to follow-up next year on his recommendations for increasing the system's efficiency and life span.

They did not follow up on work that they said they were going to follow up on. They left the area fine. The worker was great.

The technician responded to the residence to replace the leaking pipe and service the heating system. When the appointment was set they were told the pipe was behind a toilet which would need to be removed in order to make the repairs. When the technician arrived he saw the pipe was behind the toilet and said he needed a plumber to come out to move the toilet and fix the pipe. That technician left, and the plumber came several hours later, in the afternoon. The plumber arrived and told my elderly father the 6 INCHES of 3/4" pipe would cost $420.00. An outrageous price. He then stated that in order to fix the pipe, he would need to move and reset the toilet for an additional $336.00. My father is on a fixed income and preparing for hip replacement surgery. He had to get the work done in preparation of being incapacitated during the winter months. Further, had he refused the work, he would've been charged $90.00 just for the plumber to give the estimate. My father, reluctantly, gave the ok for the work to be done. When the plumber was finished, my father inspected the work and determined that the cover panels had not been replaced before thr toilet was reset. Concerned he would be charged to move the toilet again, he tolx the plumber to leave it. The plumber, then, informed my father the original technician would return the following morning to test the heating system. The next morning, the heating technician came an determined the "Taco Circulator" needed to be replaced. He was told that replacement would cost an additional $575.00. He was told a $300.00 deposit was required. 5 DAYS later the tech returned, replaced the part and did the "Spring Special" for $86.95. When I contacted management to complain about the pricing, I was originally told by Jeff H., that the $420.00 was to cover labor and should have covered the moving of the toilet (which would make the price a little more reasonable). He stated he would look into it and get back to me. After leaving several messages, I was finally able to reach Jeff 2 weeks later. At this time I was informed that the prices came out of the book and there was nothing he could do. He then explained they "aren't the most expensive but [they] aren't the cheapest. He stated that the tech would come out to fix the base boards and he would refund the $86.95 if he determined it wasn't a justified charge. Try offered to do a free inspection in the Spring to compensate for the time it took to finalize the repairs. Cropp Metcalfe took advantage of the timing and took advantage of an elderly man walking around with a cane on a fixed income. Furthermore, I don't understand how Jeff H. went from agreeing the labor covered by the $420.00 included moving the toilet to justifying a $756.00 charge to, essentially, replace 6 INCHES of 3/4" pipe. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!

Heating A/C technician performed the work satisfactorily and offered to refer to their commercial division to obtain pricing on replaced all 5 units. Plumbing technician recommended that plumbing lines be scoped with a camera and consideration be given to replacing 3 toilets (all located in a bathhouse at an HOA pool). While both technicians were fine, prompt, courteous and did their jobs, the issue was with the follow through from the commercial division which was none. I called their office on 8/19 (2 weeks after the initial service) to find out if these jobs had been referred to their commercial division and was told it had been and they would contact me. I emailed and called them on 8/30 asking for a followup. To date have not heard anything back.

Third company to come to my house. They are the only ones who fixed it (on the 1st visit.)

We had had a contract with another provider for 6 years and wanted to try a new contractor. Cropp Metcalfe came highly recommended. However, on the first service of the Air Conditioning units they told us that ALL THREE outdoor compressors and one indoor heat pump had broken and needed to be replaced for a sum of over $24,000. I called Carrier, and 2 other service providers to check the units. I also made repeated calls to Cropp Metcalfe. The units were only 7 years old. The 2 other service providers (our original one, which had installed the units, and an independent third party) said that there was NOTHING WRONG with any of the units. One had been turned off (presumably by Cropp Metcalfe). Also, they had never been cleaned as required in the service contract (proven by the amount of dirt and leaves that I personally cleaned out). They were a bit low on freon, but this was taken care of. I NEVER got the promised return calls from Cropp Metcalfe (I spoke to their customer service representative who promised that a senior person at the firm would call me. All Cropp Metcalfe wants to do is upsell to the customer. They gave me lists of what was wrong and how each item would cost several hundreds of dollars. I did do some of these recommended corrections, but now I do not know if any were truly warranted. Having spoken to several neighbors and our veterinarian's office who uses them, they provided terrible service to every single person I spoke to. DO NOT USE THEM. THEY ARE TERRIBLE!!!

The contract was to remove the old insulation, but they did not suck up all of the old insulation which I found out after they finished and paid for the work. . They would not honor the warranty to come back out. The manager said the workers did the work properly so they said there was no reason for them to come back out.

It went very well. I have a service contract with them and they usually have the same technician come out so that we get to know each other.
