Description of Work: Not sure which one. There are 2 separate businesses on Angie's named Cropp Metcalfe. Repairman incorrectly stated that humidifier was dead. Actually, it was plugged into an outlet that was off when the blower was off. More importantly though, he failed to notice mold in my furnace that had been causing me to cough for 2 months. I called Dave's Heating to fix the humidifier. He noticed the mold and wiped it with bleach. Dave's installed a UV light. All is good now, except it does appear that a mold lobby exists. Unless the serviceman is mold certified, he can't actually say that it's mold. You'll "need" to call an expensive mold specialist to say for sure. I learned a lot about possible mold-like substance that might have been lingering in my furnace, and the expensive industry designed around it (health coaches, mold remediators, etc) for the purpose of removing not just mold (wait, I'm not allowed to call it mold) but also money from my wallet.

Description of Work: HVAC technician, James Yeaung, did a wonderful job. He was very professional, respectful, polite, and explained to me what services he performed.

Description of Work: Cropp-Metcalfe is an example of a good company getting too big and losing its ability to provide quality service. I am writing this before the service is complete because I am so annoyed. I have been a customer of Cropp-Metcalfe for many years and have a service contract for my HAC unit with them. Their scheduling of appointments has always been difficult and you have to schedule regular seasonal maintenance weeks and sometimes months in advance. Their telephone answering system is non-responsive and you wait forever to get an operator. My current problem with them is the purchase of a new AC unit. It all started bad when they screwed up the appointment for the sales person, which should have prompted me to go elsewhere, and I had to call a second time for an appointment. I purchased the unit and the salesperson scheduled the install for today, January 7. No one showed up, I called the office and was rerouted several times with no answer. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for ten minutes and I eventually just hung up. I then called the sales person directly and he said he forgot to submit the paperwork for the install. I rescheduled the install two days from now. The company is giving me an additional 10% off but I am still unhappy.

Description of Work: Very slow to return phone calls & e-mails. Work was done very well. Failed to leave owner's manual for a new humidifier installed, and impossible to get to response to calls about it.
