Description of Work: Contractor did complete renovation of three bathrooms. Their work was professional and they were careful to do work with minimum disruption. They returned to fix minor details after project completion. They were busy and we had to wait for purchase of all items and scheduling, but had no difficulty with scheduling work. |Contractor worked with us on price and negotiated price was at the high end but reasonable.

From the beginning, they listened carefully to our concerns and preferences. They did not dismiss our requests for unusual products or new products to the market. They spent a great deal of time researching the products we requested to be sure we'd be happy with them. Ordering and insuring they arrived on time and in good condition, and even consulting with a company and bringing in a company representative to make sure the install went well. They didn't just do what they routinely do , but went above and beyond what any other contractor would do. The project was completed on time and on budget and now we have the master bath that we envisioned.

Everything went perfectly. Daniel and Lynn of Century Bathrooms were very helpful as we made the many decisins regarding tiles, fictures, etc. Kevin, Milton and Lewis were right on time to both start and finish the project. Daniel said that the job would take 2 weeks -- and that was just what it took. The entire job was done in the most professional manner possible. All of the construction was done with only minimal disruption to the rest of the house. We are very satisfied in every respect. We highly recommend Century Bathrooms to anyone.

Century Bathrooms exceeded our expectations in every important way. We wanted to update our 5? x 8? bathroom and eliminate the bathtub in favor of a shower. We consulted Angie?s List and began obtaining estimates. When Daniel Ptak, the owner (and master plumber), and Lynn McCarton, the Project Manager, came to our home to discuss the project, we were impressed with their in-depth knowledge of similar remodels and their ability to answer our numerous questions. Beyond that, they were friendly and helpful as we discussed various options for the project. The proposal and cost estimate we received from Century Bathrooms really set them apart from their competition. Their proposal was extremely detailed and reflected every item to be purchased for our job and its cost. Other estimates we received were much less specific and some were just one ballpark number in the thousands with minimal detail. When we decided to go ahead with the project, we changed a few items, deleted a few and added one. Century Bathrooms gladly incorporated these changes in the proposal and the resulting cost changes were readily apparent. Work on our project began on a Monday and was substantially complete by the end of the day Friday. Finishing work was done on the following Monday and the frameless glass shower doors (special order) were installed the next Monday. Each day, the workmen cleaned and straightened the work areas. They worked diligently and treated our home with respect. Throughout the project, there was minimal disruption to our daily routine. Throughout the project, Century Bathrooms' staff kept us informed, asked our preference on some minor items, and knowledgeably answered all our questions. We love our remodeled bathroom. Century Bathrooms? workmanship is outstanding and the bathroom is beautiful. We highly recommend Century Bathrooms for all types of bathroom remodeling.
Description of Work: The project included the following: removing the old tile and installing a new tile floor; removing the bathtub and a bumped out wall; constructing and tiling the shower pan; waterproofing the entire shower area; tiling the shower walls up to the ceiling; installing Silestone countertops and sinks in the bathroom and in an outer area; painting the bathroom walls and ceiling; installing an exhaust fan and ducting; and installing frameless glass doors.

From start to finish I felt comfortable working with the folks from Century Bathrooms. They arrived promptly for the first appointment and seemed very knowledgable. They listened to my concerns and had several ideas that would resolve some to the unique challenges presented by the size and location of the bathroom. When we met with Lynn (the designer) and Daniel (the owner) at their warehouse, we were able to select colors and styles of tile and fixtures. Their suggestions were reasonable and fit our budget. The proposal was very complete so there were no surprises as we went along. We were told the job would take 8 or 9 days, and they finished on the ninth day. Kevin and his crew arrived ready to work every day. They worked diligently and took great care to clean up each day. Remodeling by it's nature is very messy, but they spread drop cloths everywhere and swept up every afternoon before they left. Each day I was invited to review their work; at that time I was told what to expect for the next few days. They paid great attention to detail; the tile looks great. They took a very small space and made it look brighter and more open. I will definitely use Century Bathrooms again when I'm ready to do the next bathroom.
Description of Work: I hired Century Bathrooms to gut our very small, old master bathroom and rebuild it. The old shower stall was replaced with new floor to ceiling tile, a small corner shelf, a grab bar, and a storage niche. They replaced the old shower head with a new head that can either be hand held or hung on the wall with an adjustabe height. The linoleum floor was replaced with ceramic tile. They replaced the toilet. They built a set of storage shelves in one wall. They replaced the vanity, medicine cabinet, and the light fixture above the cabinet. The vanity had to be custom cut to fit the space. They replaced and properly vented the exhaust fan. They installed two light switches to control lights and fan instead of the one that was there. All the hardware was updated. They painted everything.

From conception to completion, Century Bathrooms could not have done more to make this daunting experience a better one. When we made the decision to remodel these 2 bathrooms, Angies List was the first place we went to see who might fit our needs. We checked out and got estimates from a couple companies and Century seemed to be the best fit for us. They were knowledgable in their products, they were helpful in making decisions, their estimate was not just an estimate, it was almost to the penny what the project would end up costing and most of all, we felt comfortable working with Daniel and Lynn. They started the job on the day promised and completed the 2 bathrooms in about 3 weeks, except for the custom glass for the master bath, which we knew about from the beginning. Kevin and his crew arrived daily on time and ready to work. Their work ethic is unmatched as far as I'm concerned. At every stage of the job, I was asked to look at what had been done and explanations of what was done followed. I was consulted each time a decision had to be made about placement of items such as niches, towel bar, faucets,, grab bar, etc. No assumptions were made - they wanted to make sure that I would be happy at the end of the project. They do a beautiful job of tiling. When it comes to tiling, (walls and floors) they know what they are doing. We had the floors layed on the diagonal and they are beautiful. All cuts were made with perfection. They definitely pay attention to detail and make sure that if any cosmetic fixes are needed, they are done to your satisfaction. With Century Bathrooms, you will get what you pay for. Our bathrooms are beautiful and we enjoy using them. When we decide to remodel our 2 half baths, Century Bathrooms will be who we call.....
Description of Work: Century Bathrooms completely remodeled 2 bathrooms; master bath, and upstairs hall bath. In master bath, walls were taken down to studs, one wall expanded, rain shower head and hand-held shower head installed, soap niches and grab bar installed, new tile in shower to ceiling, shower floor tiled, shower bench installed, new toilet, new vanity w/silestone counter top, new faucet fixtures, medicine cabinet, floor tiled, new light fixtures including a light in shower, new exhaust fan and paint. In the hall bath, the shower wall was taken to studs, new tub, rain shower head, hand-held shower head, soap niches and grab bar installed. New tile to ceiling around tub, new vanity w/silestone counter top, framed mirror, new faucet fixtures, valet cabinet over new toilet, new light fixtures including light in ceiling over tub, additional electrical outlet, towel bar, tiled floor.

They came on time; they were polite; they measured and talked about the job and I never heard anything from them again!!
Description of Work: Two people came to the house on the date decided on; spent about 45 minutes looking and measuring and THEN I NEVER HEARD ANOTHER WORD FROM THEM!!! A mystery ****** On May 29, 2013, the contractor called me after seeing this prior review. We found that there was a misunderstanding about who was going to contact who after the initial visit.

The whole process went flawlessly, from the initial estimate to the final completion. Daniel, the owner who is also a master plumber, and Lynn came out to the house to see the job and give us the initial estimate. I really appreciated that their estimate was emailed to me just two days later. How many times have you had someone come out to the house and then you never get the estimate? Anyway, we felt that their estimate was fair and went to their showroom to finalize the arrangements. While there, we decided on a different tile than the one upon which the estimate was based, so the job ended up costing us a bit more than the initial estimate. The work started promptly on the scheduled date. The men took pains to protect our carpeting and try to keep the dust to a minimum. They demoed the bathroom on the first day and then on each subsequent day, did the tiling and then the installation of the fixtures. There were some days that they seemed to leave a bit early (around 3:00), but I believe that was because they were at a natural stopping point and had to wait for something to dry overnight. Daniel came by one day to check on the progress of the work. THe job was originally scheduled to take 8 days, but there was a delay in the delivery of the shower doors, so it took about 10 days all together. The clean-up was as painstaking as the initial prep. All the details were attended to meticulously and we didn't have anything to put on a punch list. They guarantee their work, so I am sure that if some issue arises, it will be handled as well as the initial installation was.
Description of Work: This was a total remodel of a small master bathroom. The old bathroom was taken down to its studs and everything was replaced. The footprint of the room did not change. The room was completely retiled, all new fixtures were installed, all electrical and plumbing work was done, and the room was painted.

For some time I had been contemplating updating the upstairs hall bath in our townhouse. The ceramic glaze on the old original steel tub was wearing thin on the bottom, and the beige wall tiles looked tired and dated. A couple of years ago, I got an estimate from a bathroom remodeler (NOT Century Bathrooms) for a remodel...and they wanted over $19k to do the job! Well, I didn't have $19k just sitting around, I didn't want to borrow the money...and frankly, I knew that the estimate was too high. So I procrastinated. I'm SO glad I did...because some bonus money came my way at the end of 2012, and I wanted to see if I could find a bathroom remodeler who could do what I wanted done in this bathroom, on a fast track, for under $10k. As coincidence would have it, just eight townhouses up my street was parked a white van with a Century Bathrooms magnetic sign on the back door. Hmmm...Century Bathrooms? Never heard of them. So I looked them up in Angie's List. The four or five reviews were all very positive...a good first sign! I called and left a message. Dan Ptak, the President of Century Bathrooms, called right back, and we set up a time (Dec 14, a Fri) for me to visit their showroom in Fairfax. I visited, met Dan and Lynn (Project Manager). Really nice people... and I liked what I saw in their showroom. So Dan, Lynn and I sat down and discussed what I wanted done: Pull out and discard old tub, fixtures, wall tile, floor tile and toilet, uninstall but save and re-install vanity (since it was fairly new); install new deep soaking tub, fixtures, grab bars, wall tile, floor tile, and comfort-height toilet, and re-install vanity. Dan wrote notes, made some quick calculations, and said, "I believe I can do that for under $10k." Bingo! I set an appointment for the next day (Sat, Dec 15) for Dan and Lynn to come out to the house to look at the bathroom, take measurements, and solidify their estimate. Keep in mind that up to this point I had done this preliminary work without my wife's consultation because I was off work on the Fri and my wife was not. However, since she was the primary user of this bathroom (she loves to soak in the tub every morning), she would need to be brought in. Word for husbands -- if you pay attention to what your wife likes and dislikes through the years (e.g. turn off ESPN every now and then), you can get away with this kind of solo pre-planned design and not have to deal with a wholesale re-design when your wife weighs in. On Sat, Dan, Lynn and Tom (Designer) arrived at my house at the appointed time. Lynn brought the selection of tile samples I had pre-selected at the showroom. Woo-hoo!...my wife likes the plan, the tile colors, etc. With measurements taken, my wife and I followed Dan and Co. back to the showroom so my wife can see the tub and toilet I think she'll like. Yes again. Dan runs his final estimate...$8600, which is nicely under my $10k budget. I look at my wife..."What do you think?" "Yes" is her answer. Dan writes up the contract, we sign, and then we discuss project lead time. Dan said the project could be completed in about one week...and they had a post-Christmas opening in their schedule and could begin Dec 27. We agreed. Bright and early on Dec 27, Kevin (Lead Installer) enjoys his shortest commute ever (turns out he's the one with the Century Bathrooms van who lives eight houses away from us) arrives with another installer. All the demolition work is completed in one day, and everything is kept very clean by their use of canvas runners all the way from the bathroom door, down the stairs, and to the front door. Since my wife and I had planned to go out of town from Dec 27 to Jan 1, we gave Kevin a key and our cell number in case he had any questions. By the time we got back home on Jan 1, almost everything was done except for grouting and installation of tub fixtures, grab bars, toilet and vanity. By Jan 3, Kevin was done. The bathroom is spectacular! Kevin's tile work is particularly good. Bottom line: Most people experienced at setting up a home remodeling project get at least three bids before choosing a contractor. If you are going to remodel a bathroom, go ahead and get those three bids, but make sure you include Century Bathrooms as one of the three...and then toss out the other two bids and hire Century Bathrooms. Or if you want to fast track a project like I did because you already know a fair pricing window for the work you want done, skip the hassle of the bidding process altogether and call Dan at Century Bathrooms. You will deal with a small team of professionals, no hard sales tactics...and receive a beautiful new bathroom, at a fair price, timely completed. What more could you ask for?
Description of Work: Removed old bathtub, tub fixtures, wall tile, floor tile and "low" toilet, and replaced with new (deep soaking) tub, tub fixtures, grab bars, wall tile, floor tile and comfort height toilet.

Overall it was a job well done. It turned out better than I envisioned. The finished product looks great and I am pleased. I would recommend Century Bathrooms to anyone considering a bath remodel and have already done so. Looking forward to working with them on my next project.
Description of Work: Total demolition and removal of master bathroom. The walk-In shower was enlarged and the orientation was changed which resulted in a better positioning within the bathroom. The huge corner tub was removed and replaced with a rectangular soaker tub. The overall flow of the bathroom has been improved . The products used were of good quality and the contractor was open to using owner requested products. The display/showroom was helpful in the selection of products and patterns. I did not feel pressured in anyway, and I had ample time and several showroom visits before finale selections were made. Every one from the owner to the employees was professional and very helpful with ideas, suggestions. The work area was clean and everything was left tidy at the end of each workday. The job was estimated to take two weeks and it was 90% done except for the custom glass for the shower which was out of their control. I was however told upfront that every thing would be done except for the glass within the two week window. The owner of this company checks in with the customer, and comes to the site frequently. He also makes sure that upon completion that the little things that my need touching up are done and that everything is in order.

I found them to be friendly, conscientious and courteous from start to finish. I interviewed and got estimates from 4 contractors. Century Bathrooms' price was fair, it seemed to me that they would do quality work, and I felt that it would be easy to work with them -- because a remodeling job is very much an on-going project. I found I was right on all counts. All members of the working team had a good work ethic and took pride in doing a quality, careful job. During the demolition phase, they were very careful to keep the dust and dirt to a minimum -- I was amazed at how little they created. (I had painters come in a few weeks after they left and the painters made a big mess compared to Century Bathrooms, and the painters weren't even doing any demolition!) They consulted with me constantly -- which I wanted -- about things such as placement and height of the shower stall soap niche, the towel bars, the floor and wall tiles, additional electrical outlets, etc. The constant consulting insured that I was happy about every little detail. They didn't make assumptions. They were happy to explain things to me when I asked questions about the various processes (plumbing, tiling, installation of shower pan, etc.) so that I could become more knowledgeable. If I needed to leave the house while they were here, I had no qualms about it. The job required them to be going back and forth to their truck frequently, often carrying heavy and/or dirty items, and they were extremely careful about not tracking a mess through my house, making dents or marks on walls, etc. Tile-work can be complex and they knew what they were doing. Also, the head of Century Bathrooms is a master plumber, so I knew the plumbing aspects of the job would be handled knowledgeably. They started the job in the time frame that they said they would and they finished it by the date they said it would be finished. They were respectful of my time and my money. And, although I certainly wouldn't want to do remodeling very often, it really was fun to work with them!
Description of Work: They remodeled my master bathroom from soup to nuts - replacing everything except for my original cabinets, which were in good shape. The job included tearing out the shower stall, separate soaking tub with tiled surround, double sinks, counter, toilet, floor (both tiled and carpeted). They then replaced everything except the soaking tub and built a larger (twice the size) shower stall and created a true "vanity" area by extending the new counter beyond the double sinks. New light fixtures were also installed.

Mr. Daniel Ptak, the President of Century Bathrooms Inc., proved congenial, thorough and highly professional in his explanation and proposed execution of the scope of services to be provided to my wife and I, as homeowners and potential customers. Daniel, a skilled Master Plumber, was proud that his approach to bathroom remodeling was to best ensure high workmanship and quality control by having his company provide all the required remodeling skills an services "in house," rather than relying on the often erratic performance of sub-contractors. Working closely with Century Bathrooms' own creative and talented Bathroom Designer, Ms. Lynn McCarton, we jointly conceived of a very beautiful, well crafted, yet highly cost effective, remodeling plan for all four bathrooms in our home, including two vanity sink areas. Each proposed remodeled bathroom was designed to reflect an unique and individual character and aesthetic charm. Century Bathrooms apparently prided itself on never applying "cookie cutter" approaches to any of its designs. None of Century Bathroom's competitors could come close to matching its proposed aesthetically balanced designs and cost effective workmanship. Presenting us with a concise and attractively priced remodeling proposal, we chose to hire Century Bathrooms and agreed on a mutually suitable start and completion dates. From the first to the very last day at our home work site, the polite, highly skilled and versatile tradesmen assigned to our project always arrived on time and ready to work. They never failed to be highly communicative and professionally responsive to all of our questions and suggestions. Working in an atmosphere of cleanliness, good humor and a sound respect for our privacy and security, we never felt uncomfortable with our choice of Century Bathrooms, Inc. As the need for slight design modifications would periodically arise (whether involving carpentry, plumbing, flooring, electrical work, fixture installations, tile work, painting or cabinetry installation), Daniel and Lynn would always get personally involved in a moments notice, quickly showing up at the job site to oversee the proper execution of all necessary or preferred design changes. When the remodeling of all of our bathrooms and vanity areas were timely completed, my wife and I were absolutely thrilled with the finished results. What started as old fashion track home style bathrooms and vanities, when finished, were miraculously transformed into beautifully conceived and finely crafted additions to our home. Our entire experience with Century Bathrooms Inc. was extraordinarily positive and extremely satisfying. We enthusiastically recommend this company as the best bathroom remodeling company for your money. Review submitted by: Fred & Becky Velarde

The owner was very responsive in returning our call. He showed us some remodel styles we really liked and walked us through the benefits compared to what we thought we wanted without pressuring us one way or the other (which is what we got from another contractor). We really liked his ideas and found the actual implementation to be just as beautiful as the photo. His slogan is built to last and the quality of the new materials compared to what the builder installed look like they will far outlive the materials they replaced. The team who installed the new baths was very skilled and professional. They were always punctual when they arrived and kept to the schedule with no delays. When the work was finished they made sure we had no further issues before finalizing and quickly remedied some cosmetic items. We were very satisfied and their professionalism made the project virtually stress free.
Description of Work: We had two bathroom showers demolished including drywall. The remodel has tile to the ceiling with a listello border at eye level. We also had a built in shampoo and soap niche installed. Old fixtures were replaced with Moen fixtures. We also had three toilets and three fans replaced. The toilets were a high quality Kohler toilet.
