Carlos Camayo

It went fine. Carlos is a great guy, very punctual, and I thought the price was fair (although I didn't get any other quotes so can't be 100% sure).

He answered my call right away. He came to take a look at the job and gave an estimate the same day. He was a pleasant professional. We did not hire him because his price included an attached job (painting) and the price was too high.

He did not show up or even call to say he wasn't coming.

It was really two jobs as the area had to spend several days drying between exposing the area and repairing it. Remove approximately 21 Ft by 16 inch of drywall to check if any water damage or mold on the 2x4. And disposal. Install approximately 21 Ft x 16 inch of drywall, include taping, finishing and install a new baseboard, caulking and painting. Also replace any 2x4 that is damage rotten or has mold.

Our project involved repairing an upper floor in our house that had been deflecting (bouncing) for many years, due to long joist spans. Carlos also performed ceiling repairs and painting, before we replaced the carpet. My husband's profession is as a Chartered Building Surveyor and Facility Management Consultant. He told me that it was a pleasure to work with Carlos to design a solution for the floor deflection problem. He also told me that the drywall-ceiling repair was one of the best he had ever seen, leaving almost no visible sign of a repair. Carlos was prompt, courteous, friendly and professional at all times. Carlos performed all of the work within a short time period; starting before any of the other contractors who quoted were available. His price was fair and reasonable and in line with local construction rates and costs. He even came back after the project to make sure he returned the key we had lent to him. We will think of him when we have future work in mind.

Carlos responded quickly when called and came out the next day to give a quote which was priced very fair compared to competitors. Carlos and his team started the job immediately and completed it quickly as well as cleaning the job site each day.

Carlos was always responsive and punctual. He takes the work seriously and prioritizes doing a good job over doing the quickest or cheapest work possible. He is able to do a variety of jobs (see list above). Some quotes came in lower than expected and some higher, but overall the price for the amount of work he and his helper did seemed fair. I have already used him again to help with repairs to another property and have recommended him to friends.

Scheduled an appointment and confirmed at last minute and late he texted to say it was to far for him.. Should have realized that when making he appointment,

Mr. Camayo showed up when he said he would, provided a very reasonable estimate, and--after I accepted it--completed the job for me on the spot. He and his assistant were very polite, worked well together to solve the issue, and finished up promptly. Based on his performance, I asked him to provide me an estimate on another job.

The work was fine. He was very responsive and nice to work with.

Easy to get an appointment for the work, came promptly. We'd purchased the materials for the work but they turned out not to be workable. Carlos and his workman wound up going to two different Home Depots to return the materials we purchased and find what was needed as it wasn't in stock at the first stop. Removed old rotting railing, replaced it, cleaned up and touched up the paint on the posts where old railing had been taken off. Railing looks great, is secure and safe for dogs and toddler. I initially thought the price was a little high for the work but he didn't add in extra for the 1 1/2 hours it took to get the Home Depot supplies corrected, rather stayed with his original estimate which I thought was generous. Work was neatly done. Very pleasant to work with.

Carlos is prompt and professional. We called mid-morning on a Tuesday asking about vinyl siding repair and he came two hours later to give us an estimate. He agreed to return the next morning to do the job and did just that. He worked effectively and efficiently, doing the work for the agreed-upon price. Carlos is a knowledgeable, experienced handyman who we have asked to give us an estimate on more work around the house.

It went fine. It was a little more expensive than I thought since he was done in minutes. I thought it could have been cheaper but he did a good job.

Excellent experience with Carlos. Top quality work, fair price, timing met expectations and he and his staff were fantastic. We will use him again soon!

Set up appointment - he showed up and did estimate - since it was a variety of things to do, I tried to convince him to do it on an hourly basis - he insisted on estimating it and then quoting price for entire set of activities - we agreed on a total price and he expeditiously completed the work in the time frame and price we agreed upon. Brought a helper who was also very professional and efficient. I would not hesitate to use Carlos again.

I contacted Carlos through Angies List in July 2012. He didn't respond so I called him a week later and we scheduled an appointment for an estimate. He didn't show up at the appointment time of 5:00 PM. I called him and he said he forgot. He said he would come out at 7:00 PM that evening but never showed up. He sent we a text message later that night and ask me to contact him to schedule a meeting for the following Saturday. I called him and left a voice message. He never returned my call. I called again a couple of weeks ago and left a message, He hasn't responded. I'm very disappointed.

We hired Carlos to do some work in a townhouse in Reston to prepare it for sale. He completed the work quicker than he estimated and actually did more than was on the statement of work without additional charge. He saw that it needed to get done and understood that it would impact the appearance of the property as we try to sell it. Carlos did an excellent job and was very reasonably priced compared to a couple other quotes we received. I highly recommend giving him a call!

He did a great job! He took the shelves down fairly quickly and found a number of holes that we had not seen in the wall. He ran out and got some drywall and repaired the holes, spackeled the rough areas and sanded everything. When he was done it was impossible to see that there had been nails/holes etc. We were very impressed.

The only wrinkle was that originally he was planning to come at 3:30 or 4pm, and I hadn't heard from him by 5:15pm. However, when I called he came right out. The bathtub drain apparently is sort of built into my pipe so he indicated that removing it would have the risk of causing damage to the bathtub. He was able to quickly tweak it so that it at least works properly (it's still hard to clean but I can live with it). The bathroom door I thought would need to be sanded down and repainted (there's one area where the door rubs against the frame). However, simply with a quick adjustment of the strike plate he was able to get it to close pretty easily. Still not perfect, but good enough that it wasn't worth asking him to plane down the door and repaint it. I felt bad that both things turned out to be so quick (maybe 10-15 minutes total) since he had to come out from Vienna. I asked him how much it was and he said "whatever you like, maybe just enough for gas for my truck" since it was so quick and easy. I only had $25 cash so I offered him that and said I'd be happy to write a check if he wanted more money, but he was happy with the $25. Overall I was very pleased with the entire experience.

Carlos initially came to provide an estimate but the work was very small so he did the work on the same day. He completed the project quickly and cleaned up the dry paint that accumulated. I am happy with his work.

Carlos Camayo promptly provided a written estimate, was able to start the work on the date we wanted, and oversaw the work himself from start to finish. He used a crew of 2-4 men in addition to himself. Day 1 was spent scraping, sanding, and caulking (there was a lot to do). Day 2 was spent putting on two coats of paint. Carlos and his crew were polite and did a good job cleaning up after themselves. They did a nice job!

Carlos had a good rating on Angie's List for both, price as well as quality and reliability. I called him and we arranged for him to come by to look at the work and provide an estimate. He was extremely punctual, arriving exactly at the agreed time. I showed him the work that needed to be done and he emailed me an estimate by the next morning. The estimate was very reasonable, but I got busy and didn't call him back for a couple of days. He emailed me and asked if I wanted to move forward with the work. We arranged that he would start the next morning. Carlos arrived punctually the next day and began the work. He brought a couple of workmen with him and they started on the work immediatelly. It started raining in the afternoon so he had to stop and returned the next day, again arriving very punctually. By the afternoon, the work was done. I inspected it the next morning and saw that he had done a very professional job. It merits saying that I was extremely impressed by the work that Carlos did. Several things about it were notable. He was always very courteous and punctual. It was easy to get in touch with him when I needed to talk to him. He also quickly understood what had to be done and knew exactly how to do it. His price was very reasonable and the quality of the workmanship was excellent. He took care of everything, including getting the right colors of paint needed for the rakeboard, garage door and railing and using high quality materials to ensure that the repairs will last for some years. Perhaps most importantly, he focused on repairing instead of replacing. The approach which he took in repairing the extensive wood rot was innovative and very effective - he attached pieces of wood which were cut to blend into the original wood and then painted over it in a manner which made the repair almost indistinguishable from the original. He used putty where appropriate. In doing so, he saved me from having to replace the garage door, which would have been an expensive proposition. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience working with him. He called me a few days later to make sure that I was satisfied with the quality of the workmanship. His reasonable prices, excellent quality of workmanship, professionalism and honesty mean that I will be using his services for all future work on my house.

Carlos came over to provide an estimate days after our first call. The following day an electronic estimate arrived conveniently by email and two days later he was at the house working on the jobs we requested. We even added a few more jobs on the day he arrived. He is friendly, trustworthy and thorough. We were comfortable enough to give him a key to come in the next day as he worked through the day. We arrived home to Carlos waiting for us to review the work he completed. We will call him back for another list of odd and ends to do soon. Carlos is an outstanding handyman.

I wasn't able to open the front door of my new house - literally could not open it as it was stuck. Several windows in the house also were stuck shut. Carlos was on time, kind and professional. He got to work right away, and was careful not to make a mess in the house; he cleaned up after he finished the job.
