The estimator arrived on time and received from me all required information. Since I didn't receive the proposal on time, I decided to go with another company.

We asked 4 providers (all found on Angie's List) to provide proposals and not only was Bright Construction's proposal the least costly, it was also the most complete. We also found them to be the most attentive to details as well as the most professional overall. We had several changes to the original proposal and they worked with us not only on the details of the proposal but on the timing of the work. We were also having some landscape work done after the driveway was replaced and they were very responsive to our landscape architect and coordinated with them to retain some dirt, stones, etc. as well as build the necessary wiring and other "pipes" under the driveway so we wouldn't have to rip it up again to complete the landscape work. We had one small "bump" with the work and they were willing to come out and meet us and resolve it at no charge. I believe that is very important as many times contractors become very hard to reach once the work is done.

I recently hired Bright Construction Group to install a concrete patio in my mother?s backyard, which they installed beautifully. Hiring a right company and people is a key to avoid headaches and having a good experience, versus having one full of regret and frustration. In effort to bring some happiness to my mother?s life, after my father?s passing, I wanted to improve her home to assure her that she is well taken care for. I wanted my mother to use and enjoy her backyard without worrying about maintenance, such as cutting grass, weeding, mulching, and etc. I originally hired another company who took advantage of us and finished the job horribly. The concrete poured by the first company was un-even about 6.5? above ground and quite frankly Helen Keller could have poured better concrete then the company I hired. My apologies to Helen Keller for using her in such context. After tons of online research, which included looking at endless ratings and reading endless reviews, I gave Bright Construction a call and made an appointment for an estimate. The day of the appointment, I had an opportunity to meet Stephen Szalach, who showed up on time and provided a wealth of knowledge about concrete patios. He felt extremely sorry for our experience with our first contractor, showed a lot of compassion, and even apologized on behalf of our first contractor. He requested my mother and I to put our trust in him, and guaranteed us satisfaction with the patio he and his company would build. His presentation was great, which consisted of design suggestions, installing concrete steps instead of wood stairs, adding color to concrete, and installing brick around the edges. He also was very thorough in explaining us the installation process, and, by the end of the his presentation, we knew the process of installation and the days involved for the work. After the proposal was submitted and agreed upon, the work started on time and the crew clearly knew what they were doing. What I appreciated the most was the follow up call at the end of each day, which Stephen Szalach and his onsite project manager conducted together. The end result and experience was outstanding and my mother is very pleased and proud of her back yard. Given the scope of the work, which included breaking and removing a sub-par mess done by the original contractor, leveling and re-grading the ground, pouring all new concrete, laying beautiful colonial brick around the edges, and also using the highest quality concrete and color, the price offered by Bright Construction Group was more than reasonable. My only regret is that I wished I had called Bright Construction Group first. With that, life is about experiences, and most of us share bad experiences before we take the time to share good ones. I wanted to take the time to express my gratitude and share with others my positive experience. As consumer it can be daunting hiring a contractor and hoping that they will do the job right; however, we should never lose hope. I have always believed that there are good companies with great people working for them, and Bright Construction Group is one of those companies. Please give them a call if you are considering installing a patio or doing any other landscaping improvement. Very pleased with work; however, there were discrepancies between the proposal and final installation. They were very fair with the changes that were made to the original proposal.

Everything went just great. The gentleman who provided the estimate, Steven, was punctual and provided his estimate in just a few days after visiting the site. The situation was somewhat complicated. Our aggregate driveway was falling apart in some places and we wanted just those places repaired. However, we discovered that the ground underneath the driveway had fallen away from the bottom of the driveway by about 6 inches!!! (This was over a 50 year period.) Steven suggested we talk to companies who do mudjacking to see if it could be repaired. We did that, but it couldn't be repaired that way. During the process of figuring out what we wanted to do, we explored installing a heated driveway; replacing the current driveway with concrete vs aggregate vs colored concrete; and other things I can't remember. I am sure we were a PITA. Once the job started, Steven came to the house and talked with the site supervisor and me about the work, then a crew of about 6 fellows work liked demons for 3 days. Replacing that aggregate walkway was not easy. There were decorative stones which had to be matched. The color of the aggregate could not be exactly matched (which Steven told us at the very start), but they came close. I added some work once they started, which was priced as a change order. All in all, we couldn't be happier. I have recommended them to other people and they have also been pleased. They do very good work for the price and are professional! They hire their own workers and don't use pickup or subs.

I am very happy with the work that was performed by Bright. The crew was on time each day and was very professional. They did a great job and the walkway and porch look beautiful.

Our homeowners association needed a new 420-foot-long brick wall that fronts a major road, to replace one that was built in the 1960s. We were very pleased with the services Bright provided -- they are complete professionals. Because we're a homeowners association, the process of deciding took a long time, we considered many alternatives, and made a lot of changes to the proposal. Bright answered all our questions and revised the proposal several times at our behest. A particular concern was not damaging the trees, shrubs and flowers that abut the wall, and they did a great job on that score. It was complicated, in part because the old wall had to be razed before the new one could be built, but they did everything with little or no damage to the landscaping. It did sometimes take a while to get replies from them, and we sometimes had to be a bit persistent, but you can't argue with the results. The wall looks great and was meticulously built, and the oversight was excellent. The price was very reasonable. We have used Bright for other projects in the past and would certainly give them every consideration in the future.

They did a really good job but their communication was somewhat of a challenge. While they were here they were very professional and the foreman was easy to work with. We did what's called an aggregate concrete finish and their premium charge for that was significantly lower than most of the other companies we talked to. We did have some difficulty with the contracting process, we weren't able to get answers to what they really meant.

Company was very professional. They provided a timely proposal. Their estimate was a bit higher than similarly rated companies on Angie's List leading us to go with another provider.

Once you got their attention, the process went very well. Rui the owner and Rui the estimator were both very professional and very knowledgeable. The crew was excellent and the end product is something of which I am very pleased. Rui, the owner had come out to the house several times before I finally made the decision on what I wanted. He was very patient with my vacillating and obviously from that standpoint, understands the meaning of customer service. The other Rui was just as patient as I made the final decisions on what I wanted; was great at instructing his crew and very helpful in his suggestions. The only issue I have pertains to their communications prior to the scheduled date. Calls to the office were not returned in what one would define as a reasonable period of time. Although the required deposit was sent on September 10th the work wasn't done until November. Several calls to establish a date were not returned and actually I didn't know until the day before that they were coming to do the work. This was a 2-day project but because of inclement weather, the crew couldn't come back the next day. Once again, I wasn't notified until the day before that they were returning to finish the job. On the other hand, I received the bill via email, the day after they finished. Despite the foregoing, I would definitely hire them again. Their work is spectacular and worth the wait. They just need to get an excellent office person to handle the administrative details efficiently and in a timely manner.

We are delighted with the finished result. The finished project is actually more attractive than we anticipated. From estimate to completion of the work Bright Construction was a pleasure to deal with. This is in large part due to the job foreman, Rui Vicente, who was very responsive, kept everything on track, made some excellent suggestions regarding design and material and went the extra mile to make me happy. The crew members were also very neat and very pleasant.

Although he showed up when promised, he never followed up with a proposal despite my calling/emailing several times. 12/28/14 UPDATE: Contractor apologized and sent proposal after seeing poor review here.

We were very happy with the work and entire process. We had started conversations with the company owner a few years back to get estimates for our project. He came to the site on several occasions during that time to reassess the work and update the estimates. Once we were finally ready to start construction, the company was busy but made room in the schedule to accommodate our project. They set a start date for the project and stuck to it. Their crew and superintendent were professional and kept the site clean. They were responsive to our comments and made changes or corrected items when mentioned. As the homeowner and the architect for the project, this was extremely important. I was at the site daily overseeing the work and they were very responsive. They did sub out some of the concrete work. I was happy with the end product but did feel that the sub required a bit more oversight. I thought the company was very fair in pricing, professional and did good work. I highly recommend them and would use them for future projects.

The crew showed up on time and assessed what really needed be done versus the three proposal plans. The crew chief determined that some of the proposed work was not required to do the job correctly. They eventually completely replaced the front stoop and then repaired some areas on the steps and entranceway. The crew returned the next day while we were gone and power washed the whole work area. When I returned I noticed that were still some areas of mortar between the bricks that needed some repair. I contracted the foreman and he asked me to mark the areas that I believed needed to be repaired, so if his crew returned and I wasn't there they would know the areas I believed needed repaired. My only problem was that it took a few phone calls and emails and almost two weeks before the crew returned and completed the job. But to their credit there were numerous rainy days within those two weeks, which meant they couldn't put down any new mortar because of the wet weather.

We had four different quotes and they came in the highest. What we liked about this company is that they developed the best plan to repair our front walkways and front steps to make them appear as if they were meant to be that way. We decided to pay the extra money because their plan seemed the best. They did a beautiful job. They helped us by coming out quickly to do the job so they turned it around fast. They also were recommended by two or our neighbors so choosing them was an easy decision. The salesperson we spoke with was fabulous and was the one who came up with the great idea on how to fix the steps.

They did everything as promised, on time. Other masons declined to remover & re-install the railings.

Representative was very professional. He was early but called ahead to make sure the early arrival would still work with my schedule. He reviewed the process and time the project was estimated to take and provided an estimate via email the following day.

Estevan called ahead to let me know he was on his way and would be at our house at the agreed upon time. Estevan and his crew arrived on time and ready to work. Estevan listened to my concerns about keeping the dry well away from the house, but within our property line. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and responsive to me and my wife's concerns. The job was completed to specification and per our contract. The area was cleaned up and seeded. It was refreshing to have someone come do a job who seemed to really care about the customer and their needs. I highly recommend Bright Construction, especially if Estevan and his crew are going to do the project. Thanks again.

The representative from Bright Construction showed up 2 hours late to give me an estimate. Although he was very polite and friendly and answered my questions fully, I never received a proposal/estimate from his company. I called the office and was told that the emailed proposal was "on its way" but it never arrived. I guess They weren't interested in my business.

We asked for a quote on chimney repair and driveway, while Rui was very professional his stuff was unresponsive. Brian, who seems to have been there temporarily, was very slow, had a hard time comprehending and they were not responsive to questions/emails. We ended up going with a different contractor.

We had priced to have our driveway replaced and expanded with asphalt, but Bright gave us an estimate that wasn't much more than it, with the advantage of being concrete, a more durable material. The crew did an excellent job! I was a little worried, as they are so busy this time of year, and my supervisor was difficult to get a hold of in the beginning (it turned out he had had his phone stolen), but he (Luis) proved to be on top of everything. They had a truck come in the evening before the job to break the cement and haul it away. This was done by Nogueira, a pleasant, knowledgeable man. The next morning they sent a crew of 5 - later joined by a couple of other workers. The leader (another Luis) kept everything moving steady, and he was also very skilled with the finishing touches. They all worked really hard, were pleasant and respectful. All and all, my experience with Bright was great.

They were wonderful, helpful and just a delight! I love my new driveway it was hassle free thanks to Bright Masonry

The work done was exceptional on all counts. The patio looks like artwork, the driveway was designed to meet the curvature of our property, and the work on our front stair case was flawless. The foreman of all of the projects is a Portuguese mason, who actually worked in France for 7 years repairing cathedrals throughout the country. He takes pride in his work, and has an excellent rapport with his crew. All in all, we couldn't be happier, and the price was much more affordable than other mason contractors we had gotten quotes from.

It went well, but we decided to wait a while.

On 17 May 2014 Bright Construction sent Stephen Szalach to our home in Vienna to talk about landscaping and driveway replacement. He was very courteous and provided good feedback to our questions and we were excited about the prospect of working with Bright Construction. Stephen promised an estimate for the requested work within a week or so noting that he would need to come back to the house to do more accurate measurements. We waited until 31 May (13 days later) when I sent Stephen an email asking about the estimate. He responded on 2 June saying he would have the estimate "out to us shortly." On 22 June I sent another email noting that "shortly" had turned into 20 days and we were still wondering if the estimate would ever arrive. He responded on 22 June saying that he would have the estimate to us by "tomorrow morning." On 26 June there was still no estimate. I phoned the office where the unfortunate man who answered the phone heard my unhappy story and my request to cancel sending any estimate, if they ever intended to actually send it. Clearly this company did not want my work and after such a long delay and lie after lie about providing what was promised, I would be negligent to even consider using a company that I cannot even trust to provide an estimate for work. Thankfully we are in an area where there are many options, I am just sorry we wasted our time with this unreliable company. I have the email record of this exchange.
