Description of Work: I had three doors in a house that I had just purchased that needed to be rekeyed. I called Artie's Lock and Key and they were able to come out the same day. The person I talked to was very knowledgable and had me describe the old keys as that gave a clue to the lock mechanism. He quoted me on a price per lock and set a time to arrive at the house. He was there promptly and was able to rekey two doors to the same key, the third door was a different style of lock and required a different key. He was very quick and professional and made me some spare keys for both locks. He tested all the keys on the respective locks before he left. He did not pressure me into upgrading the locks, or tell me that they were inadequate. He did explain that the locks on the back door were likely to fail sometime and should be replaced but that it could last another five years. The price charged was the same as the estimate plus the cost of the extra keys. I will definitely go back to Arties for any future key or lock problems

Description of Work: I live in a condo, and have a front door and a back door, which adds up to 4 locks. I took new locks to him, and he rekeyed the locks.

Description of Work: I locked my keys in the car and needed someone to get the door unlocked. I checked Angie's List and Artie's was both the closest locksmith and one of the most highly rated. About 20 minutes after I call their technician was at my office and had my car open in another 10. Prompt, professional, courteous and efficient. I thought $140 just a trifle high but it's probably a reasonable reminder not to let it happen again.
