It worked out okay. My refrigerator stopped working. So I thought I would see what they could do. So they came and said that it needed freon. But he didn't bring the right truck. And then the price was going to be kind of expensive to have him come back and do that. So we just told him not to. We bought a new refrigerator instead. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. But I surely didn't get my $60 worth. That's for sure. I was kind of disappointed because I talked to him about what needed to happen and what was wrong with it and he was like, "Oh, I didn't bring the right truck." I probably would have had him do it if he had brought the right truck. I'm not sure why he didn't bring the right truck. It seemed like he was looking for an extra call or something. The price was a rip off. They came on time and when they said they would.

S60.00 that was paid is for the service charge and not the complete labor repaid mentioned clearly on the deal. Freeyon is specialized licensed job not everybody carry's it .they had called suspecting it is freeyon we send a techie that went out the same day to verify the problem estimate was provided which was denied as they were buying a new one.

We had two holiday parties, after the first the fridge was warm and freezer was struggling. This was Friday night. Had another party planned for Sunday. Called Apple on Saturday morning and they were at the house within the hour. Tech was nice and everything out and concluded everything was fine just overloaded and too many people had the door open that day. They honored the $60 special and we were done.

The repairman explained everything and left to get the necessary replacement filter and returned within an hour. He effectively cleaned out the dishwasher filter area and one of the filters. He applied the $60 towards the cost of the total job. He did not charge an additional service call! The total cost of the job turned out to be about $190 to $195. He deducted the $60 I paid to Angie's list giving me a total of about $130 to $135 for the total job. It saved me having to buy a new dishwasher!
Description of Work: He gave a diagnositc of our dishwasher, by first asking questions about it, and the kitchen sink and disposer, and determined the source of the problem. He cleaned out the filter, and replaced one part of the filter. He found a piece of broken glass in the filter and he also thoroughly cleaned the entire dishwasher and ran the scrub cycle. He examined the dishwasher cleanser which was a powder recently purchased from Safeway and he recommended either Cascade or a liquid cleanser, to reduce soap residue. The dishwasher is working well.

Now the oven door is firmly affixed to the oven. It opens and closes perfectly, and it no longer stays partially open at the top like it did before. Amir did a great job and was very professional. I would highly recommend him and Apple Appliance Repair for future repairs. So even though it cost $299, we did not have to replace the door (that would have been crazy) and we did not have to buy a new oven. It works like a charm now. BTW - "Apple Appliance Repair" is NOT the same company as "Apple Appliance Service" which is based in Lanham, MD. My Mom had originally made a service call appointment with Apple Appliance SERVICE, but we are in Virginia and they are mostly in MD. So after I made the appointment with Apple Appliance REPAIR, I called to cancel the appointment with the MD-based company. I never could get hold of them - their voice mail box was full or their phone would ring and ring with no answer. I noticed other reviews on Angie's List did not have good things to say about their lack of customer service. Just know that Apple Appliance REPAIR is nothing like Apple Appliance SERVICE. Apple Appliance REPAIR, based in Ashburn, VA, is the real deal. They did a great job for us.
Description of Work: The oven door had fallen off, so the oven could not be used safely or efficiently. When the repair guy came (from the Falls Church office that we originally called, I think), he looked at the oven. He said one of the hinges was broken and the other was bent. He called his office to check on the prices for the parts for that oven and gave us a quote of $329 total for parts and labor. He had to buy the two new hinge parts, which are not cheap. The service call by itself had been quoted at $60, I think. That was included in the $329, so we paid The service call charge when he finished the diagnosis and accepted his offer to do the repair. Then he went to get the parts and was back within an hour to finish the job. He finished in about another hour. He also pounded on the oven door to straighten it, because it was bent and never did close properly before. He did not charge extra for that.

I do not think that this group of guys could change the batteries in a remote control successfully, let alone repair a major appliance. We called them based on their Angie's List deal, even though the reviews were mixed (this was my mistake, and I will never make it again!) We had a front-load washer that was not draining properly. After flushing the line and cleaning the filter ourselves, we figured we may need someone with more experience. The problems began when they were scheduled for service. They called my cell phone number, even though my husband asked them not to, since I would not answer it because of my work schedule. (Magically, when I talked to them later, they had no record of my husband telling them not to call that number). When I did not answer, the technician left a voice mail and said he was not coming because I was not answering the phone. Meanwhile my husband was waiting at home. Finally they DID come, and the technician seemed as though he was unsure of what to do. He had my husband helping him every step of the way, and my husband even pointed out several things that the technician was doing wrong (failing to remove several bolts before trying to take the door off, as an example). He told us that the drain pump was broken (even though the washer WAS pumping some water out...just not all of it) and so he recommended replacing the pump, which he said would fix the problem. He replaced the pump (which he actually seemed to know how to do fairly well) and flushed the line again with compressed air. He seemed unsure how exactly to put the washer back together, again making several fairly critical errors that were pointed out by my husband (he did not leave the emergency drain outside of the washer, so we would have no way to drain it; he didn't put the tension spring back around the door seal, etc) At the end, the technician told him "I will make sure it works for you", so my husband walked away (after spending two hours helping the guy)....one would think maybe he would run a test load to make sure it was draining. But apparently he didn't. He charged us for the work and left. (On a positive note, he actually gave us a discount because my husband had to help out SO much....which I guess should have been a bad sign) Later that night, we realized that nothing was actually fixed, and that our washing machine was still just as broken as when the technician came. Which means he either put in another broken drain pump, OR he replaced a perfectly good drain pump (and charged us for it) but did not address the actual problem, because the washer was still broken. I called the owner, and to his credit he answered at almost 10pm. However, all he said was that he would call me the next day. Not wanting to wait around for him to call me whenever he had a free moment, I called at 7am the next morning and was again told that I could have a 3-hour window for a service technician, so my husband or I will have to wait at home for a guy who may or may not show up. And if he does show up, he may or may not know how to fix our problem. Not worth it! We are going to have someone else come out and actually fix it, and dispute the credit card charges in an effort to get at least SOME of our money back. I am sure that the owner will respond to this review, and say that their work is guaranteed for 90 days, and that they would have come back out....but we cannot continue to take time off of work to let them come out and try to fix it (when it was clear the technician had no idea what he was really doing the first time). We are heading into Thanksgiving weekend, and I am pretty sure that if I rely on these guys to try and fix it, I will end up with a house full of guests and no washing machine over a long holiday... Bottom line....no matter how good the Angie's List deal is with these guys, don't use them. They could offer to pay YOU money to let them fix your appliance and it would still not be worth it.....

While putting my groceries away on a Saturday something ell and broke off the rocker switch for the light. Figured the light inside will just have to stay on until I can replace it and went on with my day. Came home 7 hours later to a mess. Everything on the fridge side was warm but the freezer was still working, although defrosting frequently and water was going everywhere. Turns out Apple Appliance Repair was the only appliance repair company open on Sunday. The technician showed up within the time frame I was told. Amir was amazing. He checked a few things then proceeded to explain the problem in great detail - simply put, when the switch broke off it shorted out the motherboard - answered all my questions and once I approved the work, he proceeded. Special thanks to Amir! He was courteous, professional, made sure I understood what happened and after the repair was completed, he demonstrated how he did the repair. From start to finish, he couldn't have been there an hour. Next time I have an appliance problem, I know who I will be calling.

I needed my dryer fixed, and someone was sent out to fix it. That went...ok. It now dries the clothes but makes a weird noise (think tennis shoes in the dryer) that 2 people from Apple are unable to diagnose. I also noticed that something wasn't put back together properly because the heat is now redirected into the room. My biggest issue was that while the technician did not wear protective foot covering or put down protectant (apparently you have to ask for that?), he accidentally spread grease/rust over a significant portion of my carpet. He used MY entire bottle of rubbing alcohol trying to clean it. Then proceeded to injure himself "fixing" the dryer, and needed our medical supplies (more than a bandaid)?to be clear I would give him whatever he needed, but it just speaks to the theme of incompetence. He had to be asked to come back and clean it (though honestly, I think we all knew it wasn't going to come up). He dumped an entire bottle of Resolve and scrubbed with a brush--so now the whole area is gray and pilled. A supervisor came and looked, took pictures. I was the one who had to follow up--surely they don't want to be known as a company that destroys people's homes (and I am not talking about a few scratches on hardwood from moving an appliance). I called with an estimate for replacing the carpet and was met with the best I would get is a "discount on a future service" and that the owner is out of the country, and so I would need to wait ANOTHER 2 weeks. Apparently because my carpet is "old" (not sure why age matters, it was clean and nice beforehand) nothing can be done. No counter offer, no 'send the estimate and I will see what I can do'--just one more person wants to come out and argue about this carpet. Just don't waste your time--not only does my dryer make a whole new noise, my carpet is ruined. I feel like some people here might actually be talented with appliance repair, but they are hindered severely but poor customer service and with an unwillingness to fix their mistakes.

I purchased the Angie's List deal and requested that the provider contact me via email. They did, promptly and we were off to a good start. I asked twice via email to explain the Angie's List deal - it wasn't clear if it was a free troubleshooting visit ($60) AND $60 off services, or just a free troubleshooting visit. After asking twice it was made clear to me that it was a free troubleshooting visit only, which was OK since I was also informed that I could apply a coupon on their website to my final total. I was told that the technician would call 30 minutes before arriving during his 4-hour window. He called 15 minutes before, but he seemed OK to wait until I got there. He was nice and knowledgeable and told me that the office would call with an estimate and that someone would have to come back to do the actual repair because he didn't have the right tools. This was on a Monday. No one called. I called back on Friday to find out the status and the man who answered the phone knew nothing about the service call at all and tried to schedule someone to come out and troubleshoot again. I told him that I was going out of town and that I would be available on Tuesday of the following week only. He said that he would call me Tuesday morning if they were coming. Awesome. No idea if or when I would hear from him. I called on Tuesday midday because I hadn't heard anything from him and I was told that I had a service window that afternoon. No one actually told me that until I called. The window was 3-7 pm and I called at 6:40 pm to ask if he was still coming. Again, he was supposed to call 30 minutes before coming and I hadn't heard anything yet. The office guy said that he would call me back and the technician arrived before he could - about 10 minutes after 7:00 pm. He did the work in about an hour and he was nice. But, I was irritated. It was bedtime for my kids and I had to chase this company every step of the way to get work done. As of now, the repair seems to have been done correctly, which is a relief, but I will not use them again and I do not recommend calling them for work unless you want to put a lot of work into chasing them.

Called to tell me when they would arrive. Arrived shortly thereafter. Examined the washing machine and determined that there was a leaking valve. Said they would have to order the valve and gave an estimate of parts and labor. Estimated the valve would come in early the next week. They left and called back a while later and said they had found the part locally and would be back to replace it if that was alright. I agreed and they came back and replaced the part. Great Service - They went above and beyond for us and would call them again if something else breaks.

The tech came out for the original diagnosis. He was thorough. He took the time to try different spots on the timer to see where the problem was and finally determined that it was the timer and not some other problem causing the tub to not completely empty on the spin cycle. He ordered the part for my Maytag, returned in a few days and replaced it. The washer works as new. I was very satisfied with Amir as he was thorough, professional and took his time to diagnosis the problem, rather than to just try to sell me a new timer. Would definitely use this company again.

There was a loud noise from an 11 year old elecric dryer. The technician came out and diagnosed that the parts that needed to be replaced. I agreed to replace additional parts that were showing wear as a precaution since the parts were inexpensive and the additional labor was minor. He left and soon the dryer was making a different loud noise. I called and the tech came back the next day. He was very responsive. He took the machine apart again but couldn't find a reason for the noise. He spent a fair amount of time and effort until I decided that there was no point in continuing. He did not try to charge me for the extra visit. On the other hand the noise is still there. I don't know if another tech would have done any better. The dryer runs fine but it is still very noisy.

After reading my review the vendor contacted me and we were able to reach a mutually agreeable solution. While they were still not able to fix the problem they did make good on the overall experience. I have changed my grade from D to B based on professionalism of the owner and his willingness to make this right.
Description of Work: They diagnosed my ice maker issue as being caused by the flapper on the shoot that delivers ice to the outside of the machine needing replacement. They replaced that and the problem still existed. They could not figure out what else was wrong so they left. I contacted the owner, her reimbursed me for the cost of the repair but I still had to pay the service fee. Since they were not able to fix the problem I would not use them again, but they did try to resolve the issue of payment so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I went back and forth between C & D but decided on D because of the payment for nothing and they didn't fix it in the end.
