All-Pro Appliance Repair

After the initial visit that didn't work we scheduled another visit. Stayed home, they didn't show. They claimed to feel bad about missing the appointment and made another one, this time with the 'owner'. Stayed home from work again and guess what? Didn't show again. At this point we abandoned hopes for this company and moved on to another repairman who said it looked like the fan wasn't changed. I contacted the company to get a refund... they seemed agreeable to this idea and asked me to concur with an email stating they were responsible only for the service fee and not the service call fee. I begrudgingly agreed, having not the time to fight them for the last $50. It's now been 6 weeks of me calling them to get the money actually refunded. List of responses: -Give it a couple days to show up in your account (I've given it 30) -Accounting is not here today -There's nobody here except call center people -I'll let them know and have them give you a call (never received a call) Still waiting for that refund. Another annoying thing is they go by many names: All-Pro Appliances All-First Service Doctors I would highly recommend against using any of these companies as they are all the same place.

The door was not closing properly and so the switch that lets the microwave close was not engaging. I said I think that the door is just misaligned however I had preordered all of the manufacturers parts that could potentially be used just in case. Instead of just fixing the door first he took everything apart without needing to take the microwave down just the front panel and vent piece. He changed the switch even though it was working fine so now unfortunately I can't return it. After a total of about 30 min he was done and said it was working. It does seem properly aligned. While he was working he broke off one of the little clips from the panel I noticed it even though he tried to ignore it. They wouldn't give me an estimate over the phone and he didn't give me an estimate when he got here and they don't charge per hour only per job so I would be careful with their billing practices. I would say if you are charged more than what I am being charged for a switch replacement and door alignment I would question it. Also try and get an estimate before any work is done. They do charge approximately a $40 charge to come out but they say that can be applied to your job. My total cost out of pocket was actually $175 including the $30 that it cost me for the micro switch. Also I was given a 90 day warranty although at first he was going to give me a 30 day warranty.

Horrible

I googled "appliance repair 20878" and All-Pro Appliance Repair came up. They have 6 phone numbers. We called the (301) number and we had a next day visit. Great. 2 guys came out. They were very professional and came up with a diagnosis as to why our dryer would not generate heat. The problem is that I was not very trustworthy of them. They wrote an estimate and it was on a form sheet of paper that was not labeled "All-Pro Appliance" and even had different phone numbers on the paper than what was on the website. So we called the website number and they confirmed that it was their guys at our house. OK. Something just didn't feel right though. They claimed we needed a new sensor and control switch but had to get the parts at their place. They claimed to come back the next day. Their total was $289. I was a little suspicious. So, I called a friend of a friend who came out and looked at the dryer. He diagnosed that the sensor was not working and that he would get one and install it for us. He did this and the dryer works fine now. He told us that he spoke with the dryer part dealer and they looked up our model dryer and that they could not find anywhere that it required a "control switch." He charged us $190. He told us that when he worked for a company doing appliance repair, he was told to write false estimates. Basically he was told to lie to the customer to get more money out of them. Well folks "All-Pro Appliance Repair" is such a service. You all have been warned.
