I have nothing to compare their price with another company. He was very quick to come out, and extremely professional. He was very impressive, and he was very informative.

I never heard back from A & L Construction Company after their person came out to do the estimate. I’m very curious and still waiting on their estimate. There has been no further communication. Initially when they came out to do the estimate, they were very responsive. They just disappeared afterwards. I would probably not consider using them in the future.

The estimate was approximately for $16000. It was one person and I think that he was the owner. The customer service was great. He was a local. He was very knowledgeable. He had a lot of references and a lot of photographs of the work that he had done. He had a lot of creative ideas. He was very kind and very nice. He was very good at establishing rapport and trust. I would have preferred a little more detailed drawing of what he had in mind in the estimate. I expected a few more pictures. I think that I would be using him but I would expect a little more detailing if I decide to go that way around.

Called to get an estimate on a small job. His answering service is very friendly and said they'd page him. Got a call back from Keith later that day. I described the work to be done and he said he'd go to the house to look and then give me an estimate. Never heard back from him. Called his service again a week later, said they'd page him, but never heard back from him.

Keith came out to give the estimate. Keith was knowledgeable and friendly. He took the time to listen to what we wanted and offered suggestions that worked within our requirements. He drew up a basic design on the spot and came back with full estimate soon after. The price was in line with what we were looking to spend, and was comparable to the other contractors from whom we received estimates. After we gave A&L the job, Keith brought Earl out to survey and finalize the plans and scheduling. From start to finish, Earl did an amazing job. Not only is the workmanship excellent; Earl is just very efficient. He was able to complete most of the work himself and the bulk of the job was completed in only a few weeks. Earl kept us involved during the process, and allowed us minor customizations as he went along. We did have to wait a bit to get the final sealing done, but that was due to the fact that Earl finished the bulk of the work just before the first snowstorm hit the area in December. The end result is a job that is very well done. The deck and front porch look great and we are very happy with the work. The only issue I would mention would be the pricing. I thought the overall price was fair, but we did get hit with a couple of up-charges during the work that I would have preferred to understand before the work started. For example, there are hidden fastening systems for the decking that keep you from seeing nails popping out of the deck. For the screened-in portion, and the front porch, they were an obvious need. i.e. I wish I had seen that pricing before-hand. To be fair, Keith worked with us to replace siding that had been removed with the old deck. It was initially positioned as an up-charge, but Keith ended up not charging us to replace 3 or 4 pieces of siding. Given the satisfaction we have with the job, the up-charges are not a big deal, but they are the reason I rate the pricing as a C. The bottom line is that we are very happy we went with A&L construction. We've had a lot of work done with a lot of different contractors. A&L is at the top of our list for having performed quality work in a timely manner. I would highly recommend them.

The quote was around $12000. The guy that came out was very knowledgeable and very nice. I also have a quote from another company and I’m looking to go with them because they suggested one of the average schemes that I liked. They were very good at responding. I may contact them in the future for smaller jobs.

The owner, Keith Ardinger responded promptly to my call for an estimate. He was extremely friendly and professional. He picked up quickly on the concept I had in mind, and was able to suggest improvements to my plan. A reasonable price was agreed upon, and the work was scheduled. The next day he called and informed us the work could begin the following week. The lumber was delivered, and Earl Kessler arrived early the next day to begin construction. Everything was accomplished in the most skilled and professional manner I could ever expect. Earl displayed the utmost respect for our property, and was a pleasure to work with. At completion, his cleanup was meticulous, and the invoice mirrored the estimate. I HIGHLY recommend A & L Construction to anyone. Chuck Racine

They provided a handsome structure that works exactly as intended, for the price quoted at the time promised. The roof integrates perfectly with the existing roof and the shingles are a perfect match.The crew was polite and skilled. On site discussions were conducted with the foreman who spoke good English. The company manager was additionally helpful with advice for a second small carpentry job we needed doing. Overall, a happily superior experience in my book. We would not hesitate to use them again if needed.

They did a good job. We decided not to do the job. He persuaded us to do the job a different way and it was much more expensive so we decided to postpone the project. He was good.

The job went very well. Earl did the work. Workmanship was excellent. We added design elements as we went along. For example, a bar area and one for hor'douerves. We were recommended to them by a friend who was also very pleased. Handled all of the inspections and permits. Gave us a report from the county so we knew it was in code.
