they cut the grass regularly from may through october—for which they charged a pretty penny, but i was willing to pay for the service. infuriatingly, they kept pulling payments directly from my account for months after grass-cutting season ended. when i tried to get that money refunded, no one responded. i will never use them again, and i will shout from the highest trees that everyone else should avoid them too. they are charlatans.

Terrible customer service (Kelly at MowCow is unprofessional, rude and obstinate) which cost them our business. When paying for a lawn care service, it is expected that our yard be reasonably free of weeds. Bottom line, the treatments didn't work at all and Kelly was unwilling to work with us on a solution. Definitely recommend steering very clear of this company -- plenty of other options in the area.

I signed up for leaf vacuum service on a Saturday. Website said they would come the following Monday. Never showed. Leaves that I had spent hours getting to the curb blew everywhere. I called to get a refund which they said would be processed. Never was. Multiple emails following up, nothing. Had to dispute the charge on my card.

We requested an organic option to restore our FRONT lawn, plus a landscaping project. MowCow employees came when we were away and sprayed weed killer in both our FRONT and BACK yard in the vicinity of our organic garden. The owner explained that they had mistakenly enrolled us in their standard non-organic program, and he had failed to check. MowCow also continues to bill for more than the agreed amount for services, and we have been unable to get the issue resolved after repeated communications. The landscaping project involved planting of some shrubs, removing ivy and weeds, and mulching. This project went as expected. Because of the issues with lawn care, we will not have further dealings with MowCow and definitely do not recommend them. Note also that some of their employees do not speak English sufficiently well to allow communications with them directly.

Very well. Lawn looks great and for the first time I can say I don’t see any weeds!

We used MowCow at our old house. They cut our grass and took care of our lawn. I paid them by the year and I think they charged around $750 that included mowing once a week and lawn treatment. I would give them A for every category. I am not one those people who would give A's for everyone. They really did a great job. We had one of the best looking lawns on the block.

I really debated posting a review, as I know this is a family-run business, but after the lack of communication, the lack of showing up to do the work, and the dishonesty, I had to post this. I ordered a leaf removal cleanup in October 2016. I ordered two cleanups; one in early November and one in early December. In November, they came on time and I paid on time. Then the first week in December rolled around and no one showed up. Then the second weekend rolled around and no one showed up. I called MowCow several times and left several messages, but no one called me back. I finally got someone on the phone and I explained my situation and my frustration; they promised to check on it and call me right back. They never did. Then I called and left more messages, and no one ever returned my messages. By the third week in December my leaves were piling up so badly that I had to do something about it, so I called MowCow and cancelled my services. Of course, no one ever answers, so I left a voicemail. To be thorough and cover my bases, I sent an email on December 22nd asking them to again cancel my services. I called another company, who funnily enough came out 2 days later and did a beautiful job cleaning up my leaves. This new company didn't leave one single leaf on the ground! Fast forward a week later to December 27th, and I get a text that MowCow has arrived to mow my lawn! Seriously? I was out of town, so I immediately called them and someone shockingly answered the phone. I re-explained my situation and my extreme frustration, and the man on the phone profusely apologized and said he would call the cleanup crew and tell them to stop and leave. He also said he saw my email and that he would personally ensure he contacted the lady in Accounting who does the billing to ensure I am not charged for anything. I specifically told him "Look, I know it's a small business and it's Christmas, so I won't post a bad review if you ensure I do not get charged for anything as I cancelled in time. " He readily agreed and I thought life was good. Now fast forward to SIX WEEKS LATER, today February 8th, and I open my mailbox and have an invoice for $186. Are you kidding me MowCow? I have proof of all of my emails and calls to show the BBB because I will be filing a complaint with them tonight. I refuse to pay for your lack of communication, disorganization and flat out dishonesty.

I've used them for about 3 years for all my mowing, gardening, and clean up. However, I have not used them for construction projects. This season's initial yard service went very well. My one issue is that it is hard for them to give me a precise day/time they are going to do the service. But the quality of the service is very good. They are a bit pricey but I have found that in landscaping you get what you pay for. And these guys guarantee their work. I rated them a B but a B+ to A- would be a fairer assessment.

They did okay. They did what we asked them to do. Their prices are kind of high. We're going to talk to them again about doing the same thing this year, if we negotiate the price better.

They leave the yard in good condition. They are very prompt. They provide 9 different services for your yard. They are bay friendly and they use organic materials.

They came out and did good job as always (I use them for a lot of other services). What I was happy about is that they came by a week or so later to make sure everything went well and dropped off a little bag of seed with a little note about the service. I have used them for years but I am impressed by the follow though. Its like they really care.

I wasn't dissatisfied. I used them when I was moving. They're very professional.

The actual trimming was done very well and the leaves were blown back to the wooded area behind the house (as to not occur disposal charge). My problem stems from the cost: shrub trim: $450 yard clean-up (leaves): 199.75 (this is timed) Total: 649.75 I had a first quote done approximately 1.5-2 months ago and was told $350. I couldn't do it at that time and after another few weeks, asked to make an appt. I received another quote, this time of $450 "because the shrubs had grown." I was also told since the leaf blowing was timed, it may come out to a bit more. (but that was in the original quote). Also, the minimum amount is $350 regardless. When I got the invoice, I emailed asking why it was $200 more than quoted. Especially since the clean-up fee is aprox $200 and that seems like it would be normal price in the quote, therefore the $450 for shrubs was overcharged. In a nutshell, it appears I was charged for the yard clean-up AFTER it was in the quoted price. I received a call today from their office. I was told it was probably the yard cleanup since it was timed. AGAIN, that was in the original quote. Needless to say, I'll be using a small company from now on, one that can accurately quote a job and stick with the price (or at least make some sense). I also have before/after photos.

They are exceptionally prompt, they have a great attitude when you call them. They respond to you if you have questions in an appropriate time. Their landscaper heather is phenomenal. The are a great company to come do what they do. They are fairly priced.

They are pretty good. They come out on time to take care of the lawn. They seem more professional and organized.

There is little communication and no credibility here. The grandmotherly types on the phone will tell you whatever they need to, to leave you feeling good. On the back end, they do not feel the pressure... May or may not do what was promised by the sales/phone staff. Example today: called to explain that I just discovered a large pile of rotting wet leaves in front of my home. Spoke with Gail. Gail says, yes, we've got multiple people with this issue, I'll get someone out there today. Sound good, right? 30 seconds later she mentions the issue of not being able to vacuum up wet leaves, "which is how we work". She just promised to get me handled 'today' but the work can't be done. I mention this incongruity, and she want me off the ASAP..."we'll be out soon"... We all know what they have: staff, gloves, rakes, shovels, trucks, and an invoice for $200. What they don't have is the willingness to do the job they promise to do, when they say they'll do it. It's a management issue.

We decided to have do our fall leaf removal. They came with 2 guys that used industrial blowers and blew all the leaves to the front lawn into a pile. The pile sat for 20 hours and when the truck came to suck them up, the pile was all over. I then noticed that they had blown mulch from the flower beds all over the lawn to the point that both front and back would need to be raked up before the lawn could be mowed again. We called them and were told that should not have happened and they would be back out to fix. We then received a bill. We then called back and were told they would be out to rake it up. We then received another bill. We then called back and were told they would be out to rake. We then received another bill...with finance charges added. STAY AWAY!!!

This is the third year of using MowCow. Quite possible the worst lawn care service I have seen in a while. Not sure what they do for the money. 1st year was good and we were genuinely happy to not have to cut the grass. 2nd year was "ok". Very hot during the Summer of 2012 but they continued to spray chemicals and cut grass regardless of the condition of the yard. In the end one round of chemicals they sprayed almost killed the entire yard because they did not advise that we needed to water immediately after their application. The 100 degree weather plus chemicals completely browned the yard. Then it rained heavily the following week. They came out and cut the grass, while it was wet, and while it was weak and half dead. That was the final straw for the lowest parts of the yard that were then bare and had no grass left. They zipped around so hard and fast on the mower that they just tore up all of the lower parts. It looked horrible. Being reasonable people we decided to just wait and them they aerate and seed as a part of the contract and it would be taken care of but nope, no grass there. Not sure they even aerated and seeded. Again being reasonable, it was super hot that Summer and we didn't water after the chemicals so we let it go. 3rd year of using MowCow is now the last year! They have cut the yard multiple times when it is wet. Half of the strips don't even get cut, just squished down under the tires. Again they zip around so hard and fast they do more damage then good, especially when they cut the grass wet. They also have ruined my mailbox post with their fast and loose weed eating. I have had to repaint it 2 times and it is getting so narrow at the bottom it looks like a beaver has been chewing on the 4x4 post. I am waiting for it to just break and fall over!!! Pretty sad that we have had "professional" lawn service for 3 years and our neighbor who cuts his own grass, never waters, and has used a different lawn fertilization company for only 1 summer has a better looking yard then us.

The mulch job was a job I really didnt want to pay for, I normally do it myself but it was crunch time despite my most recent 2 experiences being lousy with Mow Cow in the last 6 months. The job itself went very well in terms of scheduling and them showing up. They had to come back the next day because it rained on the first scheduled day. They returned, worked all day and did a great job. They ruined it with the payment experience. I sent an email and asked for two things - one I gave my credit card info to them with authorization to pay, two, I asked them to schedule aeration and overseeding of my yard. One person told me they couldnt do it in August, and another told me they could. They scheduled the aeration. 2 weeks ago I got an invoice charging me interest for not paying my bill, of which they never showed an attempt to charge my card. I sent them a note via email expressing my frustration at not following up. The operations mgr said he would take care of it, he had my email with the CC information. Nothing until this week. I get a call saying they need to "settle my past due account" No recollection of my emails or my f/u email with the Ops mgr who never followed up. The Office mgr informed for the first time that they had a problem with the credit card and had been trying via email and phone to contact me.........not true, this was the first I had heard there was an issue. To top it off, on the 12th of August they were to aerate my yard, they never showed. Probably because they thought I was delinquent on my previous service and failed to recognized they never followed up with me for almost 2 whole months. These people are poor on scheduling, understanding their capacity, organization, cross commo in their office, billing, and overall, follow-up. I would never use this company again. And do not recommend them. I am done "giving them a second chance" , they have burned the bridge with me blowing leaves into the country culvert when I told them not to, billing me double for the same leaf service previously done the same way before, scalping my grass this summer after having paid for aeration the previous season only to see my grass destroyed in one day, huge clumps of grass that killed sections of my yard, and finally the best was the day this winter that they spread fertilizer when the ground was frozen.

The two workers arrived on time and worked with only a lunch break. It was a very warm two days. All trimmings were taken away by them and the yard left in perfect condition. We have gardens surrounding our whole house. They also took care of all the garden along the fence. We have almost an acre. They have been taking care of our lawn for over 6 years. This is the first time they have cleaned and mulched. We were very pleased with their work.

We contacted them about the grass in our front that does not grow. Eventually we decided to make a garden and they were very helpful with a suggestion on how to aid the flow of water around the garden. We love our garden. The one draw back was how long it took them to begin this project.

They started out fine.. Then the problems started. No shows, poor performance, blowing leaves and debris into neighbors yards etc. Damaging and not replacing gutter screens etc. All of this requiring numerous telephone calls to get things rectified. Owner, Richard Lindsay refused to return phone calls. Just another reason I went to another company this year who is doing a good job without my having to constantly call and complain! If you have to keep calling, they're not doing their job. When the owner refuses to call you.. Find another company. STAY AWAY!

Initially I was impressed...Then their service went downhill. Constant problems, blowing of debris into neighbors yards, blowing lawn clippings into flower beds. It turned into a marathon of constant calls complaining. They also damaged my downspouts, failed to replace screens on gutters etc., which required more calls and aggravation on my part to have remedied. They were using a huge commercial mower that went so fast that it gave an uneven lawn cut. On several occasions I emailed and telephoned the owner , Richard Lindsay in an attempt to tell him directly about my problems with his company and see if he could ensure me that things would be taken care of. On NO occasion did he ever respond to a request for dialogue. I guess he though he was too important to deal with the people who pay to keep his business running! Only rep's returned calls. My best suggestion is to avoid the headaches and STAY AWAY!

They called me back, they came, they did a good job with my leaves, so I went with them. They usually mow once a week, but I don't have a lawn I have a meadow and I didn't want it once a week so they did me a favor and did it biweekly. Then, they were nice enough to stick to it this year, so I am staying with them. They are reliable, they come when they say. The only thing that gets in the way is weather. Their leaf pickup is probably standard but because of the number of trees I have, the thing I like about them is they don't bag them. They come and mulch and take them away. Because of the number of trees I have, I have to have them come twice a year. I lost a tree during one of the hurricanes and they came so quick to get it picked up so that they could mow. I thought I would get a price increase this year just because of gas and labor costs but they gave me the same price. They have treated me good.

MowCow has improved for 2013, that is for sure. Last year their service was subpar, but they have increased the bar this year. The service and product delivered was excellent. My yard looks great. They did a good job last year, but I think they just over extended themselves which decreased service. But once again they are back and they are great.
