I've used Rankin a number of times, and this job was no different in quality service and fair pricing. We've been working on getting our erosion issues under control, as we purchased a house on a fairly steep hill and water rushes the property during a rain. We called Rankin and had them come out for a visit to design stone dry creek beds and erosion stops behind retaining walls and along the driveway to re-direct water and stop erosion along concrete driveways and sidewalks, retaining walls, and various slopes around the property. As always, they did a great job. And, I know this was a tough job, because they had to both hand carry and use wheel barrows to move many tons of stone down a hill as the slope was far too challenging for heavy equipment. A lot of hard work. Of course, the compliments from neighbors were the icing on the cake...

The project went extremely well. The French Drain was roughly 75 feet - pretty long for a drain, but our house required substantial work to get erosion under control. I had called Rankin to find out if they could do the work, and they seemed excited about having the opportunity. So, we scheduled a time for them to come out and see the landscape, provide recommendations and a proposal, and make a decision. The two owners (Terry and Brett) stopped by and looked at the area in question, and we discussed various options for installation of the drain, rerouting of house gutter downspouts, and future efforts that may help with erosion. I received the quote shortly thereafter, and found it fair. We decided to move forward. It only took a day, but they did a tremendous amount of work - digging behind a 75-foot 6"x6" wood retaining wall to a depth at roughly 4 feet at the deepest point. The used landscape fabric and gravel to fill the trench to ensure consistent and even flow of water away from the wall and the property to a more acceptable area. As you can tell, our house is on a big hill, and having this work done was a great help in managing rainwater and drainage away from areas of the property that could compromise the structural integrity of our house or the landscape. We still have a lot of work to do, but I'll definitely call these guys again.
