Description of Work: We had a privacy (solid board) fence installed in the back of the house in December 2015, 6' high, 50' across, then turning the corner for another 9'. A wide hinged door is central on the 50' section. An older chain link fence had to be removed, overgrown with English ivy. The fence seems very sturdy with 6x6 pine posts, and the vertical 1x3 boards are cedar. Fit and finished look is very good, including the door with a locking latch. You have to decide whether to have the "good" or best-looking side, facing in or out; we chose in, like most people, so you are looking at the good side from the house. The "bad" side shows the posts and the horizontal support 2x4's. You might say that the good side on this fence is a little plain-looking; for example there are no horizontal boards underneath the top cap board to set it off. Perhaps they were trying to save a few boards. Also, the fence is more like 6-1/2' high instead of the 6' specified. I knocked the professionalism down a notch for these fairly minor complaints. The whole job took one day, even wrestling with the old fence and ivy. Long-term performance is of course difficult to judge since it is so new, but I suspect this fence will give good service for quite a while.

Description of Work: We had a full fence installed by HalCo including 2 gates on about a quarter of an acre. They were punctual and had the job done in less than half a day. A month later one of the boards on the gate started to bow, most likely from the weather change and they came out immediately to fix it on a Saturday. I would recommend them again.

Description of Work: The salesman for Hal Fence was professional and acted as an intermediary to get our fencing job completed. Hal Company installed our fence in one day and did a very rushed job. The right portion of our back fence was poorly done and much lower than the left side due to a slope in our backyard. It took several tries before the issue was corrected. I would not use the firm again.

Description of Work: Hal Co Fence and Deck installed almost 600 feet of a cedar Mount Vernon dip semi-privacy fence. We were very impressed that they did almost all of it the first day and only had to stop because they needed more wood for about 20 feet. We chose Hal Co because we got the impression from the salesman Jeff that they would be flexible about doing whatever needed to be done, which was very important with our terrain. Of the five estimates we got, three were around $5,000 higher and one was about $1,000 lower.
