I was very happy that I got a phone call right away and the person seemed to know what he was talking about. My concerns were that information was not relayed to the employees to came to my house. Number one, they showed up an hour late. I was literally walking out the door because I didn’t think they were coming. Supposedly they’d gotten stuck in traffic which is believable considering it was a Saturday morning and they were coming from Prince William County. A phone call would have been nice. The workers were not told I wanted mold cleaning done. When I asked about it at the end they said they had not been told so they went back and sprayed cleaner in the vents. I’m not convinced that was worth $150.

American Chimney proactively texted me to schedule an appointment after I filled out an initial job request for chimney cleaning on Home Advisor. Communication to schedule the appointment over text was prompt and easy. Crew was stuck in traffic and arrived after the appointment window (it's DC traffic and it happens) but once arrived did a great job cleaning both chimneys. As I expected, my home needed more than just the cleaning and additional fees were presented for work to repair a chimney crack, install a new damper and remove an improperly installed wood burning stove left by the previous owner. JoJo was friendly and took the time to explain the additional work he recommended and then scheduled a follow up appointment to finish the job once the parts arrived. He arrived on time for the 2nd appointment. The work took several hours and stretched into the evening on a very hot summer day but JoJo still took the time to thoroughly clean the job site before he left. I didn't comparison shop estimates but feel like this company had fair pricing and knowledgable employees. I'll use them again on future projects.

Booked them and scheduled via HomeAdvisor. They were running a little late (several hours) but came. Recommend if you book using the app or website you call to confirm during business hours. Great work, very professional.

Not reliable with scheduling and timing. Missed 2 days of work because they didn't show up or showed up hours late. I would have happily rescheduled if the company had called to discuss. However, communication with the folks at the company and the guys on the ground doing the work does not seem optimal. The guys who showed up to do the work were really nice and professional however. They did leave the water running on my front hose. I'm sure it was an accident but I didn't realize it until a few days later and my front yard was a swamp. Would have been nice to see photos of how bad the gutter were since the guys said there was a lot of debris.

Nice folks to work with
