They are on Angie’s List. They were great. I had no problem. They did everything that they were supposed to do. They fixed the problem. Their prices were good. I couldn’t ask for a better deal.

The whole process was terrific. From the beginning stage were we got estimates and quotes to the final product being installed. The first initial meeting about the windows, a sales person came and explained the windows and the label; ratings and codes, the meeting didn't feel rushed or pushy. They didn't request for my husband to be there, which so annoyed me by two other large companies I tried to get quotes from. They knew I was the one in charge of getting the information and quotes and that I was capable of passing along the information to my husband. They didn't call back numerous times like other companies wondering what our decision was and harass me with better deals. They were firm with price from the beginning and product and there wasn't any gimmicks, which made us very happy. We found this company from another neighbor who used them and who was also very happy about their window and door job. The sales person also came to check when the job was being done, checking on the crew and asking if I needed anything or had any questions. The cleanup was great and the crew definitely knew what they were doing. We had a very bad experience with another window installation from another company and this recent job by Windows on Washington was so different, amazingly different. They were professional from the beginning to the very end. I would highly recommend this company and sad we didn't use them two years ago with the windows on the back of our house. We have immediately found a difference with our bedroom with drafts and noise. We chose the Okna Series 800 windows and couldn't be happier. i highly recommend Windows on Washington.

WoW is a very professional and impressive company! From the beginning, months ago, the Eric (the owner) was extremely helpful in diagnosing the situation and answering the million and one questions we had (again, we are middle-aged first-time homeowners and may have actually had two million questions). After a rainy summer, we decided that we needed to move forward with repairs before mold became a real problem. The entire experiences of measuring the window, scheduling the appointment, and the actual repair/replacement were all extremely pleasant and professional. Our window crew, Jose and Tomas, were so great and efficient at their job! Our neighbors have complimented the new window :) If we need more work done in the future (and who doesn't), we will know who to call. Thank you, WoW!

Estimator showed up on time. Had samples for me to look at and brochures for me to make additional choices from. They had a nice range of styles and price. Workers also showed up on time. All the windows were replaced in one day; all but one of the doors on another day. We had some confusion over 1 storm door, but company was good to work with at resolving this issue. Workers left my space clean. I expected to have to do some drywall or paint repair after installation. There was only one small 1-inch scratch to drywall for me to paint by main door. I didn't like one piece between storm door and front door (scratched too easily). They replaced it with superior product at no additional charge. Windows look good. They open and close with ease. My neighbors have commented on how nice the windows look - especially the new porch windows.

I am thrilled with the professionalism of the installers and the quality of the work that was done.

As the cost to replace all of the wooden windows in our 1979-built house would be a serious crimp in our budget, my wife and I have been replacing the windows incrementally so as to ease the financial burden. With the extremely professional assistance of Brandon Shonebarger, we selected the ONKA 800 series, rated as the best windows for their insulation qualities. We have not been disappointed. These are fantastic windows that are durable and insulate well both from the outside air and noise. Installation began in the rooms we use the most (den and bedroom) and we are slowly replacing the rest of the windows. As of now, we are down to 8 windows remaining and WOW will certainly get the job. As an aside, I can tell you that the install crew is like watching a highly choreographed routine. And, June and Joe the two main install guys can caulk like old European masters......it's a thing of beauty to watch. At the end of the day, except for the factory new windows and the sunshine streaming in, you can't tell that your house had just been swarmed by a crew of true professionals. Great job!!!

I had a wonderful experience from start to finish and beyond with the WOW team. I started by talking with Eric (the owner). He was extremely helpful in answering all my questions. The thing I like about Eric and his team, they don't put down or try to "sell" you on their product. They simply present the information in a way that allows you to make the best decision. We got several estimates during this process and other companies were either high pressure or they bad mouthed other products / companies. Eric spent time with me on the phone answering my concerns / questions, which was very helpful. It gave me the feeling of a partnership vs how can I get this sale and move on to the next. We ultimately started working w/ Brandon, who is a true pro and also very knowledgeable, patient & helpful. He sent me many options to choose from as we were trying to decide on casement, triple vs double pane, etc. Once we decided on the final configuration the office stepped in to get us scheduled, billing, etc. They were extremely helpful, prompt and attentive. The installation went fantastic and once the windows were installed, we could not believe the climate / noise change in our house. Before, we heard every noise outside from our bedroom, but now it is peaceful. In addition, we are not running our HVAC system all the time...the temperature is consistent / comfortable everywhere. My wife loved the fact that we stopped getting visitors...bugs, spiders and the like visiting our bathroom, etc. Stop checking around and just give them a call and be done. The product, service & staff are top notch.

The first thing anyone who spends any time talking with window contractors or home energy experts, or looking at reviews by people who have had new windows put in, is the importance of the installation work. Energy savings was of importance to me, and the reason I initially found WOW was because I had decided on OKNA windows and was looking for a contractor in the area who installed them. The best energy efficient window, however, can leak like a sieve around the frame if the contractor doesn't do a great job of installing it (foaming, caulking, etc.). I can say without hesitation, having watched every one of my windows going in, that no one could have done a better installation job than WOW. I was also very keen to maximize the visible window size (the least amount of frame), and when watching the installation process, I realized how much easier it would have been for a contractor to order windows that were smaller than the opening, and then adjust the framing around them as they installed. WOW took my concerns to heart and Erik Novotny, the owner, and several WOW engineers made site visits prior to ordering my windows to ensure they could maximize that window space for me by ordering windows to the closest tolerance of the window openings as possible, and to ensure that there would be no surprises when they started pulling the old windows out. In that regard, I would highly recommend to anyone getting replacement windows that you be there when the installer comes to do the final review before the windows are ordered. In my case, when the installation team foreman came out for the final review, the installation approach changed in several instances. If you are at all concerned about how the windows are fitting in over tile window ledges, etc., you should be there when the installer does that final review to discuss the approach they are using. I also cannot say enough about the care taken and obvious pride in their work by the WOW installation team. Their finish work, down to the caulking, was excellent. Water intrusion was also a concern of mine, and they did a terrific job on the exterior of making sure the outside window ledges were covered and sealed. In addition, they cleaned up after themselves constantly and were very respectful of my house, which I greatly appreciated. Whichever window manufacturer you decide meets your needs (WOW carries many brands besides Okna), you shouldn't consider hiring any one else to replace your windows.

The original windows installed in my house were wood windows , and although initially attractive, they began to develop areas of rot due to water damage over 20+ years despite painting periodically. Wood windows are high maintenance and re-painting is even more time consuming over the years because of need to strip off old layers of paint. Many of my neighbors with these same problems, replaced their wood windows with vinyl insert replacement windows choosing to cover the wood brickmold trim and sills that were most susceptible to rotting, with featureless aluminum flashing. Being an experienced DIYer, I fashioned and replaced many wood window sills and some of the brickmold window trim with PVC trim boards, but while this is durable solution it is more labor intensive and would still require replacement of the wood sashes. So , reluctantly, I decided to look at complete window tear out and replacement, searching for an attractive, energy efficient, and above all low maintenance product. Product Selection: After evaluating window products on Internet and a few home shows, I considered three options; aluminum clad windows, vinyl, and fiberglass windows. I decided against aluminum clad windows because a web site warned against any breaks in the cladding would allow moisture to enter and persist in the underlying wood, and I had seen wood rot develop in the lower panel of an aluminum clad patio door of a good friend. Fiberglass looked very good in terms of strength and durability, but was very pricey and there were relatively few distributors. Vinyl was not as strong but probably durable in that nature doesn?t degrade this material and it is impervious to water. But I was not pleased with the relative thinness, strength, or appearance of some of these products. The best unbiased evaluation of window products , I came across, was the Windows on Washington website. This independent window company based in Chantilly , Va, appeared to have installed many different brands of windows and provided an unbiased appraisal of window options available with emphasis on performance and energy efficiency. Although, I live in Maryland, and had not intended to use a Virginia company, I called the company on a Saturday with intention of visiting their showroom. The wife of the owner answered the phone, and informed their showroom was closed because they would be managing a booth at a local home show. So instead, I went to the home show that day, where I met Mr Frank Novotny, the original founder of the firm and father of the current manager. He showed a few attractive high quality window products,, and explained the features without any pressure. I was impressed with his openees , honesty about products, and willingness to spend time with me. The next week , I decided to consider using their company, and gave them a call. Eric Novotny , the head of the firm, arranged to have Mr Joe Bailey, come out to see my project and give an assessment. Joe understood, I was concerned with appearance, energy performance, and low maintenance, and immediately, suggested the Interstate Windows composite windows product as the best choice. This was similar to a product that I had heard was used out West but I didn?t know was available- nor seen used - in the Mid Atlantic region. The product had a higher energy rating than standard vinyl products and also provided composite vinyl brickmold trim that allowed preservation of the look of wood without the heavy maintenance. Joe?s very first suggestion was exactly what I was looking for. Measurement: Complete tearout requires careful measurement and is more difficult than window inserts since the rough openings are hidden by interior and exterior trimwork. there is nothing worse for homeowner and window company than to tear out a window only to find thereplacement is too small or worse yet, too large. For the double hung windows , I was willing remove the interior trim , but I also was replacing a large Palladium type window combination high up in the foyer. Ken , from WOW came out a couple of times , and we finally came to set a measurements that seemed appropriate, and the order was placed. When the windows were manufactured and delivered WoW allowed me to pick up the round top unit of the Palladium 3 weeks in advance, so I could take measurements to allow me to make my own pop-in grillework, while the window was still "on the ground". Installation: The windows were scheduled for installation in mid -February , last winter-one of our coldest and heavy snow fall winters! Joe Choi and his crew came promptly and went right to work. The double hung windows could not have been sized better, and went in without a hitch. New interior trim replaced the old. despite a light snowfall, the composite palladium window was installed well- the bottom rectangular unit required shimming which Joe did well using a piece of maintenance free PVC. Followup. It has been 10 months, and the windows look great, operate smoothly, and are energy efficient. A great product, well installed is all one could ask for. I intend to use WoW for replacement of other units. They were a pleasure to work with.

The initial sales meeting was the best of all estimates we received. He educated us about windows, what to look for in a replacement window, and took time to explain the pros and cons of each option. The sales pitch was low-key with no pressure at all. Three additional estimates later, we came back to WoW because we felt that we were choosing an installer that understood us and would do a great job on our project. The installation crew was fantastic--clean, respectful, communicated well and FAST. The job was completed in 6 hours with minimal intrusion. I recommend that anyone looking for window replacement check out the home improvement blogs--Eric from WoW comments often and with authority. His even-handed, informational approach (never touting his own product), coupled with the depth of knowledge, was very persuasive.

I had an excellent experience with Windows on Washington (WoW(. The sales rep arrived on time and was very knowledgeable. He recommended HiMark (Okna) series 800 windows. The offer was about what I had budgeted and did not have to be accepted that day or have an increase in the price like some other companies. After I accepted the offer, a tech came to measure the windows. He was very courteous and quick. I was told it would take 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. In about four weeks, I received a call saying the windows had arrived and been inspected. We agreed on a date for installation. A crew of three arrived as agreed upon. They immediately started to work by covering the inside of the house with drop cloths. The installation crew was very efficient, professional and courteous. I have found no problems with the widows or the installation.

We looked for the most reputable company to do our job. Our 1967 home had original windows. Our insulation was.... well -1967. Our heating and cooling bills were crazy. Many of our windows wouldn't lock and leaked enough air to blow out a candle on a table. Pella and Anderson people gave estimates that were not only twice as high but included the proviso that we'd need to get contractors to repair plaster and paint etc. Eric came from WoW for a consult and talked with us at length. Twice. Very knowledgeable and NOT selling something. I thought I was buying really good windows. But what I was really buying was really GREAT windows and most importantly, installation from a fantastic team. For both the air sealing/insulation and the window replacement, the crews were on time, polite, professional. WoW did our replacement windows in two days. 33 windows. Our old windows were a challenge to remove.There was a bit of mess. The crews cleaned up in fine fashion. Interior finish and caulking were perfect. Outside finish exceeded our hopes. I know many contractors in my area. I'd call Windows on Washington first.

I was very happy with the window installation. We got several estimates, and while this was not the lowest estimate, we felt it was the best deal. In doing research, it was hard to find commentary or reviews on specific brands, but WoW uses Okna 500, which was one brand and model that I consistently found good reviews on. The initial visit was informational and low-pressure - very appreciated after having one estimate that was like having a used car salesman in our house. Once we decided to use them, they made another visit to do precise measurements for ordering. Once the windows came in, they called me and we scheduled the installation. I left for the day while they worked. When I came back, the lead installer gave me precautions about the caulking still being wet and also demonstrated all the features of the window for me. There was no dust and they did a great job cleaning up. We have a baby, so lead containment/remediation was particularly important to us! The windows upstairs tested positive, and they took great precaution in ensuring that dust did not enter the house. I hate to downgrade for responsiveness/communication, but it has to be done. First, I had to make two phone calls to get someone to come out to do an estimate. Secondly, I had a question which I emailed, and the person who responded tried to answer but did not have my project information in front of them, so she wasn't really able to answer the question. She should have waited until she had my information in front of her. And finally, during the project, the lead installer told me a time that they would likely be done - that time came and went without a call, so I called the office and asked for his number. I'm terrible with names and couldn't remember the person who was there. The person who answered the phone should have looked up who was working on my house, but did not, and connected me with the wrong person. Ultimately, all of these were minor, but this is why I did not give them an A for responsiveness. The windows are wonderful! We are so happy to have windows that open and close easily. We are looking forward to the reduced energy costs this winter and not being frozen out of our basement. The previous owner had replaced some, but not all of the windows, and it is readily apparent that these windows are of much nicer quality than the ones that the previous owner replaced. While windows are not the sexiest home improvement, I am SO glad that we did our windows and chose WoW for this project.

I wanted an Okna sliding door and was fortunate to have found Wow. They provided the best price, excellent communication. Installation when well, the quality of the installation and product is excellent. I am very happy with the entire process.

This is the second major home renovation project which we've contracted with Windows on Washington. They replaced all our windows several years and we were so impressed with the customer service, integrity and honesty of the owners that they were our first choice when it came time to replace the roof even though they were not the cheapest. We could've gotten the roof done for a little less but we the peace of mind we had knowing that they would expertly install the roof with high quality materials, clean the work area to our satisfaction and that we could trust them to do all they said they would do made the price difference inconsequential.

The work was done ok, but I had to insist that part of the project be done over. They wanted to leave it for me to finish. They finally fixed the problems (paint and bad plaster job).

Please refer to the above - - we did not have any actual service today, but would most definitely consider it in the future.

Even though I did not select Windows on Washington to perform the window replacement work, Brandon did come out to give us a presentation and provide an estimate. The experience was outstanding from the first call to schedule through the extremely relaxed and informative presentation, and through the estimate and follow-up until I had made a decision. There was no pressure at any point in the process, no sales gimmicks, just a company with some great products that knows how to work with and treat potential customers. I went with another Angies List super service provider in the windows category that had a window of similar quality and a look we liked a little better for a slightly lower price. I will definitely have WoW on my short list for any future work.

Great. They exceeded all expectations.

Windows on Washington helped with repair and installation of two front door sidelites and a transom under the door manufacturer's warranty. There was an issue of water getting past or under the threshold and being wicked up into and rotting the door jamb and frame. Eric from Windows on Washington diagnosed the problem and advocated on my behalf to get the entire sidelites/transom unit replaced under manufacturer's warranty. When the door manufacturer's installer came to replace the unit, Eric showed up with a crew of 3 to help. He made sure the subfloor was built up to provide proper drainage and prevent wind-driven rain from getting under the threshold. He and his crew were instrumental in getting the replacement door unit installed properly. Since 2009, Windows on Washington has done several projects for me, replacing all my windows, my front door, and air sealing my basement. Every project was done to my satisfaction. They are always responsive to my questions (and I had many), especially Eric, who is very knowledgeable about aspects of the products they use and the work they do. They are honest, fair, and trustworthy. Their after-service support, should you need it, is unparalleled. I wholeheartedly recommend Windows on Washington as the contractor of choice for all they do.

Great service. Installation happened on schedule and was completed the same day. All the double-hung windows operation smoothly, and we've gone through a couple of rainstorms with no leaks. The work crew left the interior clean and didn't disturb the landscaping. We love the look of the new bay window.

Windows on Washington did a great job! We had estimates from about 7-8 different companies including Thompson Creek, Window Nation and many others in theDC/NoVa area to include companies that also work with the OKNA windows and doors. We felt that WoW offered us what we wanted (the OKNA windows and sliding glass door) at a good price with the record of service that we were looking for. There were others out there that offered, or could get the same windows, but the details of installation were different and so we did not choose those providers even though the cost was less. The installers were on time and stayed late to get everything done in one day. It took more time because in our townhouse the window openings were skewed. Anyway, they did a great job. Our winter heating bills have gone down. We LOVE the OKNA sliding glass door and so far everything is just as it should be. I would recommend Windows on Washington to those looking for great windows at a good price for great service.

Eric came out for the initial consult, he is extremely knowledgable and gave a through run down of the WoW product portfolio. I didn't realize that WoW also did roof installations! The turnaround on the detailed itemized quote was quick, clear and concise. After accepting the quote, WoW mobilized their team to cater to my schedule and strict timeline. We were expecting our first child and needed things to be done as quick as possible! They didn't fail to deliver by mobilizing two teams to install the windows and roof, we got everything done with time to spare:) WoW is a well oiled machine that delivers a superior product and keeps you in the loop at all stages of the project. I would highly recommend Eric and the WoW team to anyone looking to replace their windows and/or roof. I look forward to replacing the rest of the windows in my house!

I made the half hour plus trip out to Chantilly on February 8 with measurements and plans for a fairly large window project. All I wanted was an estimate based on the window sizes, shapes and measurements. I didn't even make them come out to my house. Two weeks later, I didn't hear back and left a message. Nothing. Two weeks later, I left another message. Finally after a month, I get an apologetic call but at this date, March 28th I still haven't gotten an estimate. Very unprofessional.

The job took 1.5 days. Young from Windows on Washington was the installer and did a wonderful job. He's the same person that installed all the windows and doors on my house back in January 2013. I would use him in a heartbeat again due to his attention to detail and pleasant demeanor. The owner of Windows on Washington is Eric Novotny. He is great to work with as well. He is very professional and willing to go above and beyond to exceed your expectations. Oh, and did I mention that the work turned out great! Now, I don't have to worry about water damage and don't have to get up on my roof to paint those dormers ever again! Thank you, Eric and Young from Windows on Washington! I'll be calling you for my next outdoor project.
