We recently used Windows on Washington and it was the best experience we've ever had with a contractor. Windows on Washington installed 13 new windows in our home and did a fantastic job at every point from the initial sales call, scheduling, and installation. Their installers know what they're doing, which is evident when you see the finished product. In addition, we worked extensively with the owners, Eric Novotny and John Baker, who went above and beyond to help us with our leaking front door. Windows on Washington was one of 6 companies we consulted to find a solution for our leaking 6 year old ProVia front door, and they were the only ones who tried to help us without selling us a new door. John and Eric figured out the issue and were able to get us in contact with ProVia who covered an entire new door under warranty, installed by Windows on Washington. Both owners came the day of the door install and Eric actually re-engineered areas that could potentially let water in so we don't have any problems in the future. If you're in the market for windows or doors, we HIGHLY recommend Windows on Washington!

We like our new windows a lot and we are very glad that we chose WoW. Everything went very smoothly and on time. Greg was very kind and professional when making estimates and explained us a lot. Yang came to measure and was very precise and helpful. Jose did installation and left only after he was sure everything is installed as promised and with high quality.

Zach got a sample from the factory to reassure me. The installation team did a super job and the difference is so slight no one except me can see it. I am so pleased with the outcome--I have my sunroom back!

This is our second time using WoW for window replacement. This time we replaced 8 Windows and one slider. The entire process went flawlessly. They offer quality product (Okna) and have amazing installers who are 100% focused on a quality end product. Their lead installer, Joon, is incredibly efficient and professional and insists on his crews doing a great job. We will use them a third time whenever we reach that point.

From start to finish, the whole process went very smoothly. We shopped around and received about 5 or 6 quotes, but ended up liking the quality of the Okna windows offered by WOW best. We worked with Greg Shwartz to select the type of windows we wanted. We had very old inefficient crank windows and wanted to change some to picture windows and some to slider windows. He showed us the product and walked us through the whole process. He was upfront about all the contingencies and cost. For example, if lead was found there would be an extra charge, which wasn't always clear from other providers we talked to. We received all the paperwork up front After that, we were in constant communication with WOW on having measurements, arrival of windows and installation. Young Kim came to do the measurements and ultimately lead the installation with another crew. Young Kim was really great to work with and he and his partner did excellent work--with lots of care and attention to detail. They removed steel pans around the windows as well as did the install. It was all done in one day and they left things as clean as when they arrived! Overall, we are very pleased with the work and windows and will probably work with them again in the future.

I couldn't have been more pleased!! Windows on Washington(WoW) were fantastic!! WoW installed 30+ windows on my home and I can not say enough great things about the quality of work and professionalism at WoW. It went so well that I had them install new gutters and gutter guards, as well as some other minor work. I would definitely use WoW in the future and definitely recommend them to everyone.

Exceptional company From the beginning (sales representative) to the end (installation), I received exemplary service and every person in between was equally as admirable and helpful. I received an excellent and very informative presentation on the Okna windows I selected. I was able to review all of the information on the windows and make a decision without any pressure. I was given an estimate for the job and it remained the same. It was not lowered in an attempt to inspire me to accept their services immediately (which was my experience with several other companies). I love the windows. my rooms are so much warmer, and the windows look fantastic. Many neighbors have remarked on how beautiful they are and I have referred WoW to all of them. Windows on Washington definitely provides quality products and expert workmanship.

We learned about WoW originally on contractor's forums when trying to decide which brands / lines of windows were going to be the best quality / price balance. The owner apparently is very active in providing advice on the forums, and other members were highly recommending the company, so we gave them a shot. The initial consult was low pressure, the rep was extremely knowledgable, and gave us good advice on the overall state of our exterior in addition to the windows, without pushing add-ons. They were a bit more expensive than the other quotes we received from two companies, but they were using off brand windows that weren't getting good quality reviews, unlike the windows WoW was providing. The installers were great, the windows were installed ahead of schedule and all in one day. I definitely would recommend them for windows, and they're at the top of my consideration list for when we replace our sofit vents / do some roof repair.

Windows on Washington removed mulls between six double-hung and transom windows to install new, taller double-hung windows. They removed a casement-double casement-casement combination and replaced it with a large (8' wide by 6' tall) picture window. They removed four sets of double casement windows (full frame replacements) and replaced with double-hung windows, and elongated another window opening to install a taller casement window. Although there were some hiccups in the delivery of the product which caused the installation date to slip, we could't be more pleased with the outcome of the installation. Eric (the owner) was very accommodating and provided a discount for the scheduling delay. The installers (Yung and Joon) were extremely professional and took great pride in doing an excellent job. They were thorough, concientious and meticulous and were respectful of keeping things clean. They did a great job cleaning up everything at the end of the job, picking up all the little pieces of aluminum coil that was snipped during the fitting of the exterior capping. I have enjoyed these windows for over a year now and still couldn't be happier with the end product. I have recommended WoW to others, two of which have had windows installed through them with similarly excellent results. The company does a great job of customer service, promptly following up on service issues and making sure the customer is satisfied. I would not hesitate to whole-heartedly recommend Windows on Washington to anyone looking for replacement windows.

Zach Wince, the sales rep from WOW, made recommendations on the type of windows and the type of replacement style (full tear-out vs. replacement style tear-out) for my casement windows around which the wood frames have rotten. Zach also measured all other windows at my house and provided estimates for them for future reference. Zach was very courteous and professional. He was on time to appointments, and spent a lot of time answering many of my questions. I ended up hiring another contractor for my casement windows due to price reason (I didn't think I would need Okna, the top-of-the-line window on the market, at this time), but will definitely hire WOW for my other windows in the future since their prices on Okna double-hung windows seem reasonable. I was impressed by the the professionalism Zach along with other WOW staff showed even when I decided not to hire them.

I used Wow to replace my roof and windows last year and they did an amazing job. After alot of research on the internet, we decided to ask Windows on Washington to show us their Okna windows. The salesman was a little early, so we weren't finished eating dinner yet, but put our dinners aside and let him in anyway. There was quite a bit of showmanship involved in the sales pitch, review of their accolades on Angie's list and numerous other websites. When it came down to reviewing the product, the salesperson showed us a very nice PowerPoint presentation, but we would have preferred to have the brochures (in fact they left us with none). I felt the PP presentation was kinda gimmicky, since it seemed to provide the control of the discussion to the salesperson and out of my hands. The sales pitch seemed to be 50% bashing the other guys company, 25% on WoW's accolades, and only 25% on the product itself. Despite my objection, they also did the heat-lamp demonstration, which to me is irrelevant. They seemed to think that showing me this demonstration with these 6 inch by 6 inch blocks of glass would convince me that their window is better than the competitors'. Really- those blocks of glass are not windows, and they may not even be the same glass in the windows that they would be selling me. It all comes down to the numbers, which are accredited and tested by independent laboratories such as AAMA and Keystone (similar to UL for home products), which WoW seemed to gloss-over. What finally soured us on WoW was at the end: the salesperson does some calculations and writes 3 prices on a piece of paper, one price for each of 3 window models, and slides the page across the table. My response was "We'll be in touch", he paused and said "oh, by the way, are you financing? We can also give you a cash discount!" So he worked in a few more discounts that dropped the price by an additional 15%. What??!! He just offered a excessively high price, and when I didn't "bite", he dropped the price even more! Oh and the "cash discounts" weren't for paying cash- they were for "giving a positive online review" and letting them "put their sign in my yard"- NOTHING connected with paying cash and not financing. Truth is, they would have pushed for that stuff anyway, and probably gotten it, even if I paid the higher price. Final recommendation: don't call WoW. Maybe it was my salesguy, maybe not. But I can't recommend anyone who tries to intentionally overcharge me. That's just plain indecent. That's why I gave them the F for overall score and professionalism.

Greg at Windows of Washington was amazing. He was extremely responsive and professional. He came by and provided an estimate the very next day after his visit. My mom really needs to repair some rotting around her windows so I convinced her to sign the contract. Unfortunately it backfired on me. When I explained my situation to Greg, he was amazing and allowed me to tear up the contract. Once I save up some money to pay for my mom's windows, I will definitely have them come back because I know they provide amazing products (like Okna), extremely knowledgeable installers, and great sales people like Greg!

This is the third time we have used Windows on Washington. We have twice had them install replacement windows and also had them repair a roofing-related leak in our dining room. Each experience has been exceptional. Eric comes to the house to scope out the work to be done and always gives us multiple options, explaining the pros and potential cons of each. Each time the work was done EXACTLY as described, when it was scheduled and for the agreed upon price. The employees are top-notch, always explaining what they will be doing and taking to time to answer questions from a know-nothing homeowner. The work site is always left cleaner than when they arrived. The most recent work was installing Okna 800 series windows. The work went perfectly and I can honestly say the rooms in which the windows were replaced are quieter and most importantly more comfortable than before. If you are considering having work done yourself a favor and take the time to contact Windows on Washington.

Windows on Washington replaced 10 windows in our townhome in December 2014 and we could not be happier with the results. This was a big investment for us and we did lots of research and received estimates from six companies before deciding to go with WoW. They were the only company we felt comfortable doing business with for a couple reasons: 1, The company owner, Eric, was very professional during the estimate, and providing detailed explanations of the products they offer and the installation process. He put us at ease that his company would ensure the installation process would go smoothly; and 2, the Okna 500 window was our favorite of the many windows we had looked at over several months - it is very energy efficient but not really bulky like some we had seen. While it did take a little longer than we had hoped between the time of signing the contract to installation day (about 10 weeks), the final product was well worth the wait! The installation team showed up right on time. We were asked to leave during the removal of our old windows so they could conduct the proper lead containment procedures and they called a few hours later when we could return. They removed all of the old windows, including some pretty awful moldy storm windows, and the new windows including screens and caulking were installed perfectly. It is amazing how much better our home looks from the inside and out as a result of these windows! For all of the work and the high quality product, we thought the price was very fair. We are having WoW out this week for estimates on a couple more projects, including a new storm door and attic insulation, and definitely recommend them.

We ordered a replacement French door (one side stationary, one side opens) to our deck from Windows on Washington on 8 Oct 2014. Cost was $2890 (net $2640 after a $250 repeat customer promotion). On 19 Dec 2014 they delivered and installed an incorrect door. The wrong side of the door was the stationary door and the screen door was missing its inside handle. The door knob/deadbolt were as ordered ? keyed on both sides for knob/deadbolt, matching our house door keys. Since they had already removed the old door and prepped the opening, we had no choice but to install the incorrect door. Poor quality control ? never should have arrived with this door. And the workers left quite a few nails on my driveway from their work ? sloppy. Nearly two months later, on 12 Feb 2015, they returned with the ?correct? French door and installed it, but the ?correct? door now had an incorrect knob/deadbolt ? keyed only on the outside for knob/deadbolt, not keyed on both sides, and the key didn?t match the rest of our doors. Upon complaining to the company about this ongoing mess, a principal owner of the company, Eric Novotny, personally came to our house to apologize and said he was going to take this knob/deadbolt as a personal matter and make it right. He also reduced our price by another $250 for our inconvenience. On 17 Mar 2015 Eric returned with a replacement knob that matched our house key, but it was still wrong ? keyed only on the outside for knob/deadbolt. He apologized and said he?d fix it ? again. Four and a half weeks went by without a phone call, an email, or a new knob. After these 4 1/2 weeks, I sent a strong email on 17 Apr demanding return of my house key. No response. Second email sent on 24 Apr demanding key. On 27 Apr he emailed to tell me that Code prevented him from installing a double-keyed lock/deadbolt for emergency exit reasons -- but he offered to provide it to me for self-installation. On 12 May he delivered it and reduced the price another $50 for my inconvenience. It took 7 months, with two cold mid-winter installations, and inexcusably slow responsiveness, to install the door. They installed several replacement windows a year earlier and they delivered the wrong grills (mullions) in one of the windows after we clearly emphasized to them when ordering that one window needed to have very specifically spaced grills. While they fixed the issue, it was another two-visit installation that highlighted communication issues between sales and other elements of the company. Their sales folks were great ? we really liked Brandon Shonebarger ? everything after sales didn?t impress us. I?m sure others have had better experiences but after this door fiasco I won't be using them to finish replacing the remaining windows in our house.

The sales person was a little pushy and I wasn't a fan of the way they did some of their 'discounts'. Overall price was a little on the expensive side as well. Having said that the demonstration was very thorough and we were provided with tons of information before purchasing the windows. It was nice to get all of the ratings up front without any hassle. The individuals doing the work were on time and completed the work within the allotted time. I have no complaints at all about the quality of the work or the professionalism of the individuals that installed the windows. I am also very happy with the windows themselves. I would recommend them for consideration whenever doing a project that requires the installation of doors or windows.

WOW sales person came in on Saturday and quoted me $30,000 to replace 34 windows for Okna 800 (promotion free upgrade to 1800 triple pane) ,which come to average $880 per window. I had WOW quoted from 2 years ago to replace 30 windows for Okna 800 just under $20,000, which was average $666 per window. I like Okna windows but I did not have the money at that time. I waited and I thought I have save enough money this year to finish the project, but the price went up over 30% in 2 year. The 30% increase to me is a little high. WOW has to do better for the pricing to earn middle class customers' business. I also have had several contractors came in and all of them have a lot lower price (range from $16K to 22K) than WOW.

Thank you for the opportunity to visit your home to discuss your project, and also for your feedback on the pricing we delivered. We always appreciate hearing from our clients so we can continue to grow and learn and develop professionally. I would like to shed some light on the pricing issue you raised. First let me say that WoW cares very deeply about the middle class and their needs. We are comprised of middle class ownership and a middle class Team and understand how valuable our hard earned dollars truly are. We want every client of ours to feel great about the value they receive when doing choosing WoW as their contractor - mainly because we want to feel the same value when we make our own purchasing decisions. One of the hallmarks of our service has always been to treat people as we would want to be treated in our own homes, and we consistently strive to go the extra mile for our clients to drive that value proposition. Unfortunately, for the last 3-4 years we have seen bi-annual increases in our product costs ranging from 8-15%. We absorbed these increases for 3 years without raising our prices, but could not hold prices steady any longer. To be a healthy business, you have to understand your operating and product costs and adjust over time. Contractors that close business on price alone often do not last long in our market, as they operate on margins that are too thin to support the ongoing costs of the client relationship (such as warranty work or service issue calls.) More times than I can count, we have fielded calls from homeowners that cannot get warranty service because their contractor went out of business...but the price was right for them to sign the contract. It is also important to note that when shopping for windows, you must try to compare apples to apples. It can be tempting to compare an estimate for Window A installed by contractor A and Window B installed by contractor B without a clear understanding of the differences. There are incredible variations in product quality, performance and warranties which can result in one window being 3x the cost of another unit. Similarly, installation techniques make a tremendous difference in project success, and the best installers in the market charge a premium for their work. The window you are considering is among the very best available, and comes at a considerable premium. We carry multiple brands and multiple lines of windows, to meet the needs of every clients' priorities and budget. If you have not completed your project, we would be happy to discuss various options that would bring the total estimate closer in line with the other estimates you have received. We very much appreciate your feedback and value your input. If we can be of any assistance, or if you would like to revisit the estimate process to look at other options, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Provider came out for a visit and to estimate the job. Punctual and nice during the three hour window sales presentation I sat through. Ultimately went with an alternative provider due to pricing. Granted WOW does have quality products for windows, but the siding project was priced $16K higher than other providers quotes utilizing the exact same siding product (Alside Prodigy 5" Dutchlap). Windows demonstrated were only their top of the line ones, they did not provide nor recommend an alternative product to consider but when the quote finally came there was a lesser cost alternative available. Never actually saw the alternative product though. They lost this job on overall pricing and sales pitch with Powerpoints and all of that, total cost of $20K higher than other providers for the same work. I wanted a builder to builder discussion not a sales pitch. No we were not bargain shopping either. The other providers we considered all came within a few thousands of each other overall, WOW was way out of that pricing target.

Windows on Washington was highly recommended by our neighbors who had work performed by the company. We are so very glad we went with WoW. From the initial sales meetings with Mr. Shonebarger to the final installation of 15 windows, the process could not have been smoother, and surprisingly quick. The windows are of a very high quality and they were installed just a few days ago. The installation team, the customer service team, everyone we dealt with at WoW - we are very impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. We will definitely hire WoW again when we go to what we call "Phase II," which will be the installation of yet more windows in our townhouse.

WoW provided me with a very thoughtful and timely written estimate to replace my roof. However, given my budget for getting my roof replaced, WoW's estimate for materials and labor to do a quality job unfortunately exceeded what I anticipated and could realistically afford to pay for the removal and replacement of my asphalt shingle roof.
Description of Work: Provided free estimate to remove and replace my approxiamte 3000 square foot asphalt roof.

To start, all of our windows are 12 years old and each "window" is really three separate windows. We noticed some leakage on the set of MBR windows and decided to have someone look at it. Another window company came to my house and was adamant that I needed to replace all my windows but at the very least, that one specific set of windows needed to be replaced. My wife and I agreed to purchase their very expensive windows but immediately began thinking we needed additional estimates. This is where Eric from WoW came in and he was fantastic. Eric inspected all of my windows and was so honest with his opinion. He indicated that we could, and should, wait on all our windows for the time being and walked me through my options for the one window we were having issues with. He said that of course we could replace it but for the time being, we could do a handful of DIY repairs that would be more than sufficient. He then followed up with me that evening via email and sent me PDFs & videos regarding the fixes. He saved us thousands of dollars!! We are very, very grateful that he was so professional and honest. When we actually DO need windows, or any other service they provide, we will certainly be calling them!
Description of Work: Eric inspected my windows to gauge whether or not any needed to be replaced.

They are on Angie’s List. They were great. I had no problem. They did everything that they were supposed to do. They fixed the problem. Their prices were good. I couldn’t ask for a better deal.
Description of Work: I used Windows on Washington. They did a roof tune up. They did a quick repair. My mother-in-law used them at our prior residence. She had all new windows done and a new door.
