I highly recommend Windows on Washington for any of the home improvement services that they provide.
This is the third time we have used Windows on Washington. We have twice had them install replacement windows and also had them repair a roofing-related leak in our dining room. Each experience has been exceptional. Eric comes to the house to scope out the work to be done and always gives us multiple options, explaining the pros and potential cons of each.
Each time the work was done EXACTLY as described, when it was scheduled and for the agreed upon price.
The employees are top-notch, always explaining what they will be doing and taking to time to answer questions from a know-nothing homeowner. The work site is always left cleaner than when they arrived.
The most recent work was installing Okna 800 series windows. The work went perfectly and I can honestly say the rooms in which the windows were replaced are quieter and most importantly more comfortable than before.
If you are considering having work done yourself a favor and take the time to contact Windows on Washington.
Windows on Washington replaced 10 windows in our townhome in December 2014 and we could not be happier with the results. This was a big investment for us and we did lots of research and received estimates from six companies before deciding to go with WoW. They were the only company we felt comfortable doing business with for a couple reasons: 1, The company owner, Eric, was very professional during the estimate, and providing detailed explanations of the products they offer and the installation process. He put us at ease that his company would ensure the installation process would go smoothly; and 2, the Okna 500 window was our favorite of the many windows we had looked at over several months - it is very energy efficient but not really bulky like some we had seen.
While it did take a little longer than we had hoped between the time of signing the contract to installation day (about 10 weeks), the final product was well worth the wait! The installation team showed up right on time. We were asked to leave during the removal of our old windows so they could conduct the proper lead containment procedures and they called a few hours later when we could return. They removed all of the old windows, including some pretty awful moldy storm windows, and the new windows including screens and caulking were installed perfectly. It is amazing how much better our home looks from the inside and out as a result of these windows! For all of the work and the high quality product, we thought the price was very fair. We are having WoW out this week for estimates on a couple more projects, including a new storm door and attic insulation, and definitely recommend them.
"Thank you so much for taking the time to provide a review of our products and service. It was a pleasure to work on your home and we're thrilled that you like the windows. The best compliment we can receive is when homeowners give us a call back for additional work, and we look forward to helping you again in the near future."
"Thanks for your feedback on your project. We are glad that you like the windows and they are performing well in both noise transmittance and efficiency. We look forward to your updates on how they continue to perform now that summer is here. We appreciate you choosing WoW and we hope we can be of additional service in the future."
On 19 Dec 2014 they delivered and installed an incorrect door. The wrong side of the door was the stationary door and the screen door was missing its inside handle. The door knob/deadbolt were as ordered ? keyed on both sides for knob/deadbolt, matching our house door keys. Since they had already removed the old door and prepped the opening, we had no choice but to install the incorrect
door. Poor quality control ? never should have arrived with this door. And the workers left quite a few nails on my driveway from their work ? sloppy.
Nearly two months later, on 12 Feb 2015, they returned with the ?correct? French door and installed it, but the ?correct? door now had an incorrect knob/deadbolt ? keyed only on the outside for knob/deadbolt, not keyed on both sides, and the key didn?t match the rest of our doors.
Upon complaining to the company about this ongoing mess, a principal owner of the company, Eric Novotny, personally came to our house to apologize and said he was going to take this knob/deadbolt as a personal matter and make it right. He also reduced our price by another $250 for our inconvenience.
On 17 Mar 2015 Eric returned with a replacement knob that matched our house key, but it was still wrong ? keyed only on the outside for knob/deadbolt. He apologized and said he?d fix it ? again.
Four and a half weeks went by without a phone call, an email, or a new knob. After these 4 1/2 weeks, I sent a strong email on 17 Apr demanding return of my house key. No response. Second email sent on 24 Apr demanding key. On 27 Apr he emailed to tell me
that Code prevented him from installing a double-keyed lock/deadbolt for emergency exit reasons -- but he offered to provide it to me for self-installation. On 12 May he delivered it and reduced the price another $50 for my inconvenience.
It took 7 months, with two cold mid-winter installations, and inexcusably slow responsiveness, to install the door.
They installed several replacement windows a year earlier and they delivered the wrong grills (mullions) in one of the windows after we clearly emphasized to them when ordering that one window needed to have very specifically spaced grills. While they fixed the issue, it was another two-visit installation that highlighted communication issues between sales and other elements of the company.
Their sales folks were great ? we really liked Brandon Shonebarger ? everything after sales didn?t impress us. I?m sure others have had better experiences but after this door fiasco I won't be using them to finish replacing the remaining windows in our house.
The individuals doing the work were on time and completed the work within the allotted time. I have no complaints at all about the quality of the work or the professionalism of the individuals that installed the windows. I am also very happy with the windows themselves.
I would recommend them for consideration whenever doing a project that requires the installation of doors or windows.
"Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and a great review of our Team. The install team will very much appreciate your kind words on their work and performance. They always aim to treat each clients' house as they would their own, and we definitely think that work ethic is visible in their finished projects. Please do not hesitate to call on us if we can be of any additional service!"
"We want to thank you for being a repeat WoW customer! We very much appreciate your business and the trust you have place in our Team. We are thrilled that you love the new doors and it truly was a pleasure working with you again. Thank you also for your thoughtful review and endorsement of our company, products and services. It is homeowners like you that make our hard work worthwhile! As always, please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any assistance."
"Thank you very much for your kind review and for sharing your experience. The WoW Team is always happy to be of service to our customers, but please let me take a moment to let you know why your review and feedback is so powerful for me. As a business owner, I cannot tell you how important it is to build a strong team of dedicated professionals in order to grow while maintaining the highest level of care for customers. It is a relentless and continuous process to provide that level of service - and I could not be more proud of and grateful for the entire WoW Team for their efforts. When your issue occurred, my wife and I were out of the country celebrating Easter with family. We weren't here to give instructions or provide an incentive for the Team to take action - they did it automatically because they are completely committed to providing an exceptional experience every time they interact with a customer. It's a testament to their commitment to our company mission to exceed the expectations of our clients and colleagues at every opportunity, and I am very grateful and appreciative for their commitment. Thank you again for your feedback and we look forward to providing you service in the future. Regards, Eric Novotny President"
"Thank you for your review and the kind words for our installation crew. We will certainly pass your compliments onto them, as they love hearing from our satisfied customers. They work very hard to surpass our clients' expectations, and we are glad that you appreciate their dedication. Enjoy the new windows!"

"Thank you for providing your review for WoW's services. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any additional service to you or your home."
The windows are of a very high quality and they were installed just a few days ago. The installation team, the customer service team, everyone we dealt with at WoW - we are very impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. We will definitely hire WoW again when we go to what we call "Phase II," which will be the installation of yet more windows in our townhouse.
"Thank you for sharing your feedback and providing a review of your experience with WoW. We continuously strive for 100% customer satisfaction in every customer interaction, which we hope builds the trust needed to become your home improvement contractor of choice. We will pass your compliments onto our Team and look forward to being of future service for "phase two.""
"Thanks for taking the time to review WoW. It was my pleasure to come assess your project, and I am glad to have saved you the investment of new windows. Being fair and honest is a hallmark of our approach, even when that means there's no work to be sold. Be sure to keep us in mind when you are ready to tackle a home improvement project. If we can be of any additional service, please give us a call. Regards, Eric Novotny"
"Thank you for your feedback concerning the window, door and roofing projects. We are glad that you are happy with the results and look forward to being of service for any future home improvements that you may be considering."
"Thanks for taking the time to provide WoW with your review. We very much enjoyed working with you to renovate your home's entire exterior! The beautiful blue color you chose for your new standing seam roof has served as an inspiration to our other clients as they make their own color selections. Hope you are enjoying the roof, windows and siding."
"Thank you for that generous feedback and for taking the time to review our service. We very much appreciated the opportunity to earn your home improvement business. If we can be of service in the future, please do not hesitate to let us know!"
"It was our pleasure to complete your window and door project, and we are thrilled that you (and the neighbors) are enjoying the results! Thank you for trusting WoW with your home and also for trusting in our process to make sure you were 100% satisfied with the finished result. Thank you also for taking the time to review us and to share your experience."
Workers also showed up on time. All the windows were replaced in one day; all but one of the doors on another day. We had some confusion over 1 storm door, but company was good to work with at resolving this issue. Workers left my space clean. I expected to have to do some drywall or paint repair after installation. There was only one small 1-inch scratch to drywall for me to paint by main door.
I didn't like one piece between storm door and front door (scratched too easily). They replaced it with superior product at no additional charge. Windows look good. They open and close with ease.
My neighbors have commented on how nice the windows look - especially the new porch windows.
"Thanks so much for complimenting our install crew. They are always thrilled to hear the words of WoW-ed customers. They work hard to provide the best workmanship possible while moving efficiently as a team and working clean. We always say that the best window (or shingle or insulation...) in the world will leak like a sieve if it is not installed incorrectly! That's why we push ourselves to provide best-in-class installation techniques on each and every job - and we appreciate your acknowledgment of their hard work."
With the extremely professional assistance of Brandon Shonebarger, we selected the ONKA 800 series, rated as the best windows for their insulation qualities. We have not been disappointed. These are fantastic windows that are durable and insulate well both from the outside air and noise.
Installation began in the rooms we use the most (den and bedroom) and we are slowly replacing the rest of the windows. As of now, we are down to 8 windows remaining and WOW will certainly get the job.
As an aside, I can tell you that the install crew is like watching a highly choreographed routine. And, June and Joe the two main install guys can caulk like old European masters......it's a thing of beauty to watch. At the end of the day, except for the factory new windows and the sunshine streaming in, you can't tell that your house had just been swarmed by a crew of true professionals.
Great job!!!
"Thank you for taking the time to provide WoW with a review. We have enjoyed working on your home and look forward to completing the remaining windows when you are ready to go. Thank you for putting your trust in us. We very much appreciate it and will continue to work hard to exceed your expectations."
Stop checking around and just give them a call and be done. The product, service & staff are top notch.
"It's terrific to hear that we helped improve the comfort and sound quality of your home, in addition to the added benefit of those unwelcome house guests staying on their own side of the glass! We appreciate your business and want to thank you for taking the time to review our process and service. Please keep WoW in mind should you consider a roofing, siding or air sealing and insulation project in the future."
I was also very keen to maximize the visible window size (the least amount of frame), and when watching the installation process, I realized how much easier it would have been for a contractor to order windows that were smaller than the opening, and then adjust the framing around them as they installed. WOW took my concerns to heart and Erik Novotny, the owner, and several WOW engineers made site visits prior to ordering my windows to ensure they could maximize that window space for me by ordering windows to the closest tolerance of the window openings as possible, and to ensure that there would be no surprises when they started pulling the old windows out.
In that regard, I would highly recommend to anyone getting replacement windows that you be there when the installer comes to do the final review before the windows are ordered. In my case, when the installation team foreman came out for the final review, the installation approach changed in several instances. If you are at all concerned about how the windows are fitting in over tile window ledges, etc., you should be there when the installer does that final review to discuss the approach they are using.
I also cannot say enough about the care taken and obvious pride in their work by the WOW installation team. Their finish work, down to the caulking, was excellent.
Water intrusion was also a concern of mine, and they did a terrific job on the exterior of making sure the outside window ledges were covered and sealed. In addition, they cleaned up after themselves constantly and were very respectful of my house, which I greatly appreciated.
Whichever window manufacturer you decide meets your needs (WOW carries many brands besides Okna), you shouldn't consider hiring any one else to replace your windows.
"Thank you for your thorough review. We really enjoyed your project - as it was one of the more challenging installation applications we installed this year! We love a good challenge, and feel the reward of a job well done when our client is equally happy with the process and the end product. Thank you for providing WoW the opportunity to work on your home."
