Description of Work: Replaced our leaking heat pump with a state-of-the-art efficient Carrier heat pump with digital thermostat that can be controlled by our cell phones. Technicians were clean and professional. All work was done on time and we were instructed on how to operate the new system. All of our concerns and requests were honored without question. We will continue to have this company take care of all of our HVAC needs.

Description of Work: The A/C failed in mid August. I called Vernon on 21August, and they had a technician at my house before noon. The variable speed motor had failed. The Vernon technician got a new motor, installed it, tested it, and had the A/C operating that afternoon. "Well done" to Vernon

Description of Work: Installed heat pump unit inside and out. Technicians Mike C and Brian were pleasant, courteous and professional. They arrived on time and finished work in estimated time given. They explained in detail and easy to understand language the workings of the unit and necessary maintenance. They explained thoroughly the programmable thermostat and answered all my questions. The entire installation process went smoothly and I would highly recommend them.

Description of Work: They installed a new, highly rated heating and AC system for me about 10 years ago. Now I have a maintenance contract with Vernon. They come out twice a year, once to check the AC and once to check the heating. They usually do a good job of checking things over and let you know if there any issues. However, the service rep sometimes tries to convince you that you should have a certain service or add-on product which usually costs big bucks. About six months ago they convinced me (in one of my weak moments) that I should get an ultraviolet scrubber so as to remove allergens in the circulated furnace air. It cost $1,300 and it was really a simple device. I read up on the product and found that the many great benefits it was suppose provide were not substantiated by experts who tested the product. I called them back to remove it and refund my money and I provided them a copy of the test report. They also try to get you to replace a major part if they say they it sounds a little funny or the measured current is a tad high (which usually happens with age). During this current service, the rep found a dead mouse in the outside compressor unit's electrical wiring area. It was messy. He convinced me to have the compressor coils and mouse mess cleaned with a chemical wash. The cost seemed a little high, but I had it done since the coils had never been cleaned. Bottom line is, they do good work but,you have got to be on your toes to watch out for, and resist the sales pitch for expensive service and products.

Description of Work: We used Vernon to do general inspections of our heating and air conditioning systems, and to do some specific repairs. The general inspections were fine - they showed up on time, were thorough and professional, and identified a failing part in our air conditioner before it became serious. We also contracted with them to replace the overflow tank on our hot-water heating system, which was having a problem with water spilling on the floor from the emergency relief valve due to excess pressure in the tank. The initial replacement was done by a technician not particularly familiar with this type of system, and he gave us an undersized tank that did not solve the problem. On a second visit, they sent a more experienced technician who recognized the problem and installed the correct size tank, which did function properly. They did not charge us for the follow-up repair.

The also adjusted the thermostats and instructed me on how to operate both the AC and furnace using on thermostat and how to reverse if I changed my mine and wanted to go back to having the thermostats operating independent. The cost includes an yearly maintenance contract. I was very impressed and always enjoy learning something whenever have service performed in my residence. Vernon is a very professional, dependable and trusted vendor. I would recommend using their services.

Description of Work: Clayton Goins was the Technician who performed the Winter Super Tune-up & Safety Inspection. Vernon installed the HVAC system a year agogreater than I have a maintenance contract on the system. Clayton was very professional, knowledgeable and patient. I normally ask a lot of questions. Clayton answered each one and explained the "why" also. He was on time, careful to clean-up. He was very thorough in the inspection and also offered recommendations for future considerations. It was a pleasure to met Clayton. A job well done! Thank you.

Description of Work: Spring maintenance (above amount includes twice annual maintenance visits). We have been a customer of Vernon for years and have found them to be competent and fair.

Description of Work: We have a contract with Vernon. We pay something like $18 per month (mid-level service) and that covers heat/ac and home humidifier. We get twice a year full check ups and tune ups if needed. Additionally should you have a heat or ac problem you are near the top of their list for repair.

Description of Work: Vernon installed a new A/C and furnace within two days of my previous A/C dying over Memorial Day weekend. They were quick and efficient, and when it turned out a crucial component was defective, they replaced it with no questions asked and in a very timely manner. They system now is functioining well.

Description of Work: We have an annual contract with them for under $200. We bi-annual checkups on HVAC system and quick response if something goes wrong.

Description of Work: Biannual systems maintenance check, covered by "Gold"-level contract ($323/yr). It turned out that I needed a new blower motor, which they promptly replaced at no additional charge. They also installed a compressor assist kit for an additional $251. All work was done on time.
