DO NOT USE BAYSHORE! DO NOT TRUST BILL HAYWOOD! I had the worst experience moving with Bayshore and dealing with Bill Haywood. I have moved across the country 4 times, and this was undoubtedly the worst and most stressful moving experience of my life. Below is my experience: My move was confirmed to pack on a Tuesday and move the following day. Even though Bayshore called me 3 times to confirm my move, I found myself waiting for 2 hours after the confirmed showtime on pack day. After calling, I could not get any help from their support; they had no idea what was going on. So, I sat in my apartment on my moving day with no update or solution. Finally, 6 hours later, they called me and said they would pack the following day. Knowing they would be unable to pack and move in a single day, I had to scramble to purchase & procure boxes and supplies to pack about half my apartment myself. Finally, after persisting 5 times with customer support, they confirmed a larger team the following day. My wife and I stayed up till 2am packing what we could, and the next day the packers and movers were barely able to finish on time (even with half the apartment already packed). A week later, when the invoice was sent, I called Bill for an explanation and breakdown of the costs. He was unable to speak to the contract, completely blew me off, and sent me an outdated contract that was incorrect. After calling him back, he proceeded to argue with me and still could not explain the invoice because again, he was looking at an outdated copy. Finally, 2 days later, someone else was able to send me the most up-to-date contract and invoice for the move. Quite frankly, Bill Haywood is a slimy used car salesman in my opinion. When my stuff arrived at my new destination, I had issues again. The driver was 1.5 hours late from his confirmed time. Then, he parked his massive 18-wheel truck on our narrow street and informed me the movers would show up in 15 minutes. They finally showed up 2.5 hours later. He never moved his truck and created problems on the street. Again, customer service was unhelpful delay after delay, and they could not provide me with any updates and solutions. Finally, the movers showed up and started 4 hours later than planned. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT book with Bill Haywood or Bayshore.

OUTSTANDING experience working with John Grimsley, Jr. and Laurie Allgaier from Bayshore, whose courtesy, professionalism and responsiveness gave us confidence in their process. The Bayshore and Allied movers were also GREAT. They were courteous, professional, quick, and yet took great care with our belongings and our homes. Nothing was broken or nicked. I will definitely hire them again for the next part of our move. Estimate was in the middle of the 6 or so that we received. NO surprises or upcharges. Highly recommend working with Bayshore and Allied.

On the whole the move went well. Husband and I think Bayshore may have underestimated the number of people needed for the move because their estimator came out to the house before the decluttering, and then after the home was on the market and we were preparing for the open house. Our house was so opened up after the decluttering and after we had sold, thrown out, or otherwise gotten rid of "stuff" that he was absolutely stunned when he walked in, and the contrast may have impacted his judgement. Or perhaps because June is their busiest month they were just short-handed. Since we had only one week to complete the purchase of our new house and be out of the old house we elected to have Bayshore pack us. The packing team was there almost ten hours on Tuesday and really weren't done when they left. The movers came the next day and their five person team took twelve hours -- working well past Bayshore's normal restriction of wrapping up NLT 6:00. They were careful with our furniture and boxes, however people were extremely tired and the house was not as clean when they left as we had been led to expect. A four person team, mostly consisting of the same people who loaded the van, unloaded it at our new house the following day (Thursday) and did a very careful job, though some boxes (not many) wound up in the wrong place (e.g., in the basement when they should have gone to a 2nd floor bedroom or in the garage when they should have gone into the basement). The sole damage was a broken aquarium, for which Bayshore informed us they will reimburse us in full. The biggest glitch was that the movers forgot about the furniture and boxes in storage from the declutter move, so they had to make a second trip early the following week. We've since discovered some small dings and dents in our furniture, but it's hard to say whether that happened during the move or ahead of time and by us. I might note that Bayshore subcontracted specialists to pack and move our grandfather clock, which arrived safe and sound with no dings, no dents, and continuing to keep perfect time.
Description of Work: Move our household goods from old home in Reston, VA, to new home near Winchester, VA. We selected Bayshore because of the good experience we had moving furniture from my late mother's house in Philadelphia to Reston a few years before. In order to sell our old house we needed to "declutter," so we used Bayshore to collect excess furniture and excess boxes in the basement and place them in storage. We also used them to do the move itself.

From the moment the proposal was prepared at the house, I had a very good feeling about Allied. The man was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. The estimate was printed on site with a portable printer and I was given much more information than the normal sales propaganda. The estimate was a locked in price and very detailed. The movers showed up promptly on load day, came in and introduced themselves to walk the house and look at the items to be loaded. We did 95% of our own packing. They put protective coverings on all carpets and hardwood floors before starting. It was a long hot day to unload a very full almost 5000 sq ft house. The few items that we did not get packed up in our storage room they were great to assist with putting in a couple boxes. The 18 wheeler was very full when they rolled away that night. All furniture was wrapped in heavy blankets before being loaded on the truck. We drove to DE that night to wait for the delivery, which arrived at about 8:30 AM the next day. It was the same crew, which was great as we had gotten to know the men and were comfortable with directing them in the new house. They were very accommodating when I decided I wanted furniture moved once I saw the actual placement, and changed my mind about set up. They moved some very heavy pieces with no complaints, which made me very happy. We had two very inexpensive items get damaged, a concrete planter and a lightweight wooden shelf from our storage room. Allied's offices were very quick to turn around my claim. Should I ever decide to move again, I will only be calling Bayshore to do the job!!
Description of Work: We hired Bayshore Allied to move from our home in Montgomery County, MD to Sussex County, DE. We obtained 3 bids for the move, and Allied was the highest cost with the next closest only $500 less. Our move was a two day move, loading on day one and delivering the next. The truck was loaded, stored in Dulles overnight and arrived the next morning at the new home

Overall the experience was absolutely awful. The Crew (I was never allowed to know their names, they did not introduce themselves) showed up to pack 2 1/2 hours late. I was told various reasons why. There seemed to be a disconnected between dispatch and the Crew. Then they advised it would take 7 hours to pack the house. That was not in line with reality. i have a smaller three bedroom house and with three men, the house should have packed in no more than 5 hours. I had appointments scheduled for the afternoon so I advised dispatch they needed to leave by 2pm and we could pick it up again on Friday. Originally Eric sold me the schedule that we would pack on Thursday, load on Friday and deliver on Saturday. Dispatch advised they could load and deliver on Friday, saving a day and I thought that was swell. i expressed my concern to Doug in Dispatch that this Crew was not acceptable, they were rude and I could tell they were mad, possibly at their bosses or with this assignment or something. It was awful to speak with them and I was uncomfortable with them in my house. Doug promised they were bonded and insured and would I would be thrilled with their service. *DO NOT HIRE THIS COMANY*. Once they started packing I noticed they were doing a very bad job. My items were tossed into boxes, not truly packed or even wrapped. On Friday they arrived to finish packing and they then started cramming paper into my drawers in the bedrooms and desk, not sure why but it was useless and ridiculous. Boxes not labeled. I tried to calm myself, I felt like I should have fired them right there but I just kept saying to myself, Doug and Eric are stating that this is their best Team, i should deal with it. I left the house early to get on the road to be at the new house early, I gave one of the packers a key to the old house. As I was leaving I noticed they had thrown trash into the front yard such as coke cans, etc. I just assumed they would pick it up, they did not. He forgot to give me the key so once I called Management (for the 7th time that day) they told me i had to meet they 7 miles up the road. At that point I jumped in the car and decided we would deal with all of this later. Upon arrival at the new house, they started throwing boxes in the new house with no rhyme or reason. Even though I had made Bayshore aware I had a very small staircase to the second level and did they need pictures, they said no. However upon arrival they refused to deliver to the second floor so they crammed about 2000sqt worth of furniture on one level. You could barely move. Long story short: items never packed in old house, they missed 5 drawers all together They broke: lawn mower (smashed) end tables, most of my dishes, the nozzle to connect the washer which is now leaking, trash at the new house on the lawn, missing electrical outdoor cords. Left broom and mop so I could not clean the house. i just can't believe this is a woman owned company. Their behavior was disgusting. My instinct is the Crew was having a dispute with management over money (although this was not mentioned) and that is why their behavior was horrific. Please save yourself a tremendous amount of time and energy and do not hire this company, ever.
Description of Work: I hired Bayshore to complete a in-state move for me. My thought was I was hiring an Allied affiliate and expected a full service move. I contracted for all packing and moving.

There were miscommunications , but they resolved them all. It was a unique move because I was moving from my storage and they did the second part, the long-distance part, so everything was already wrapped, so I guess that led to confusion.

I can't say enough good things about Bayshore. The movers and packers showed up exactly on time (or a little early) and were professional and courteous. They safely delivered everything, undamaged, to the new place despite the fact that the destination (Western Mass) was hit by a blizzard and sub-zero temperatures on our scheduled move-in day. I thought there was no way the move would happen as scheduled given the weather, but they pulled it off. And they kept a positive attitude throughout - even when the truck battery died and the fuel lines froze overnight because it was -12 degrees. They got the truck fixed at an auto-shop and had completed the delivery by early afternoon. Also, the move coordinators back at Bayshore headquarters were very good about keeping in contact and updating me as the weather situation unfolded. And, the price was competitive with the other companies I got quotes from. I would definitely use Bayshore again.

We received estimates from many different movers, and Bayshore was in the middle for the estmated cost of the move. We decided to go with them as the local Allied affiliate since we had had success using Allied for previous moves and also because the estimate was the maximum price, which could be lowered based on the actual weight of the items moved. Our previous long distance move with Allied ended up being a few hundred dollars less than the estimate. The person who did the estimate also provided us with all of the boxes we would need for the move at no additional cost. The movers arrived a little early on the date of the move, which was good. They were an experienced team and very professional. They provided us with packing supplies to use for our glass items and showed us how to safely package them. This saved us a good bit of money from having them do the packaging of the glass for us. The guys who picked up our things were the same team who would be delivering them, and they were very accomodating to our schedule since we didn't have a final address to give them at the time of the pickup. We kept in contact with the driver and let him know when we had arrived in Plano and selected an apartment for the delivery. Our things were delivered the morning after we moved into our new place and only 6 days after they had been picked up in Virginia. All of our things arrived without any issues. Nothing was broken. The actual weight of our things ended up being a little above the estimate, so the estimated cost was what we ended up paying. Overall, it was a very professional and pleasant moving experience, and I would recommend Bayshore for your long distance move.

We spoke to an account sales team member first, who promised us a move date and handed us off to the actual move coordinator. We first sent a list of goods to be moved and received a base quote, and then arranged for a local estimator to estimate the move with an in-home evaluation. The sales member assured us that the fee would be reflective of the actual weight of the shipment and not a flat cost. Part of the pre-sales incentive was to provide boxes for the move for free. However, we later discovered that we'd have to pick up these boxes at the shipping depot over 50 miles away. The estimator also said he would provide some boxes for us, but he could only drop off ten. Due to our conversations with the sales member, we also expected the truck to be weighed after leaving so we could have any over- or under-weight charges adjusted by the time of arrival. After the visit, the estimator calculated the costs, and faxed us a contract agreement to be returned to the company. By the time we had faxed back our agreement, we'd been informed that our move date had been lost and we had to move on a later date. We could deal with that. We understood that the terms of the move was to pay in full on delivery with a credit card we were to provide. It was difficult to reach the coordinator, who was often away from his office phone, and so we wound up leaving many voice mail messages to each other. In fact, the only person I could reach most of the time was the local estimator, who was not really responsible for the move. The final move date was delayed yet another day, which could have been a very big problem. We had a deadline for them to pick up and leave because we had already arranged first-class air transportation for a fragile family member, and the date could not be changed. Because we had expected the movers to arrive the day before and they hadn't, the day of the move was somewhat tense. Fortunately, the three-person team was quick and efficient, and did a good job of prepping and moving the home's contents into their curbside truck. I checked the boxes and signed off, and let them go. We made it to the airport with an hour to spare. During the transit, we tried to keep in touch with the company but did not have much luck reaching them. The arrival date was pretty quick, about ten days cross-country, but again, the truck was delayed and changed their arrival date several times. This wound up being a real issue, because the driver had not been told by the management that we were using a credit card, and so we were on the hook for a huge bill that could only be paid by cash or certified check. We tried for three days to reach our coordinator as the weekend arrival date approached to no avail. Because we didn't have confirmation that the billing was taken care of, we scrambled to find a cash payment so we could receive our goods. We wound up finding a bank open on that Sunday afternoon and drafted a certified check to the van line, which was used to pay the driver. After accepting the delivery, we found out that the driver had not had the contents weighed, so we were stuck with a bill that we believe was up to 1,000 lbs. too high. The driver pointed out that there are two kinds of estimates, and ours was a fixed estimate, meaning that we accepted the charges no matter the actual weight of our load. This was not clear in the paperwork, and aside from that, the option to receive the other type of billing should have been presented to us. I'd have to blame the estimator for this, since he should have received explicit instructions from the sales staff that we wanted an adjustable contract. It also turned out that although this mover is considered to be self-sufficient, i.e., they supply their own trucks and drivers, our move wound up with the contracted company acting as an agent and using another company (Allied Van Lines) as the actual movers. They did not disclose this, and I found out the day of the move by the driver, an Allied employee. As for the actual move of household goods, nothing was broken and the onsite staff were nothing if not gracious and helpful. They followed directions and were careful both in pickup and delivery. A final irritant was that I discovered the day after the delivery that our credit card information had, in fact, been supplied to the movers, and that they had charged me for the full value of the move. I had to call their office once again to reverse the charge. I would much rather have paid by credit card and gotten the $5,000-worth of points, but it was too late; I could not get my check back. The final assessment: Courtesy: very good Punctuality and scheduling: fair Accuracy of billing: poor Communications: poor Procedure and efficiency: very good
Description of Work: This mover was contracted to pack and transport the contents of a small 1-bedroom apartment from Washington, D.C to Los Angeles, California. Contract included boxing, packing and transporting, unpacking and moving into the new unit. Movers packed clothing, furniture, household goods, etc. Coordination was done over the phone prior to actual move because we were not in the city until the move dates.

They were extremely helpful in instructing me on how to box things so they did not break. They were prompt, reliable, and extremely helpful. Description of Work: In late May, BayShore picked up my daughter's college apartment furnishings promptly at the schedued time in Charlottesville,VA. She was impressed with the movers' professionalism. They were stored at a storage facility in Woodbridge, VA for three months, and then moved to the Fort Lauderdale area in early August. BayShore is one of the very few moving companies that accepts less than 2,000 pounds, this was a key factor in our seleting BahShore. We did have one issue that made it extremely difficult to plan. When I signed the contract on May 1, I explained that the delivery date and location were uncertain because we hadn't yet found a place for my daughter to live. We knew we would find something in the intervening three months. As soon as we found a place in July, I notified BayShore, but the storage facility rep and the sales person said that there was a 16-day delivery window in the contract. I negotiated with the BayShore rep and my daughter received her items about 7 days after she had her place.

All representatives, including estimator, coordinator and movers were top-notch and very professional. Even the movers, working with one member short and 100 degree weather in July were very positive and polite. Showed up on time and didn't stop until the job was done, eleven hours later. They were very accommodating, careful with carpet and door frames and clean. We originally considered a "do-it-ourselves" move, but were very happy we hired Bayshore. I was amazed to receive a refund, the estimate was higher than actual cost.

They were very accommodating, careful with carpet and door frames and clean. We originally considered a "do-it-ourselves" move, but were very happy we hired Bayshore. I was amazed to receive a refund, the estimate was higher than actual cost.
