We were obtaining bids for a large home renovation. We called the Huff Construction phone number and David immediately picked up. David came over our home the very next day to assess the work we wanted to be completed. David was very nice, professional, detail oriented, and down to earth. He listened to our want list very attentively and was eager to provide an estimate. We greatly appreciated that he was able to complete an estimate within a week which was surprising due to the large amount of work to be done. We ultimately opted for another company but would not hesitate to consider David again for future work. David's great personality and demeanor left a lasting positive impression on us.

From our first meeting we were impressed with Dave's forthright, down to earth approach. He understood what we wanted to accomplish and he made it happen for a reasonable price. He offered good suggestions and was always available to discuss the details of the project. We were out of state during the construction but felt we were always in good hands and a phone call away. Any issues we raised were dealt with quickly and fairly. We will continue to use him for future projects.

David and his team did an excellent job at making our renovation goes as quickly and smoothly as possible. I was amazed at how much was finished on day one of the remodel given David’s coordination of his sub-contractors! His own crew was hard working and did quality work. They gutted the kitchen, installed new cabinets, appliabces and backsplash, built a bench in the window and installed board and batten boards in our mudroom and powderoom. He was very accommodating to my frequent changes, and I thought his pricing was fair. David had a “can do” attitude that made it nice to work with him. He was also honest in personally owing up to a small mistake he had made and was willing to correct a spot when we noticed a mistake.

I would highly recommend Huff Construction. Mr. Huff provided a quality results without breaking the bank with a priority of making sure the customer was happy, and he worked with us to that end. His staff, to include subcontractors, were on time and were extremely helpful. Mr Huff was patient as we made modifications and did not nickel and dime us on changes to the original plan. Mr. Huff work with us since we did some of the interior work ourselves and provided helpful tips. With the price Mr. Huff charged we got a lot of bang for our buck.

Huff construction did a complete remodel of a property we purchased. The property was gutted to the studs and completely rebuilt. David was professional throughout the entire process and always very accommodating. He also replied to text or calls almost immediately and never longer than 24 hours went by without a reply—he even called us a couple times on his vacation. If you are the type who needs to talk to the contractor every day or wants someone who is wearing a button down shirt, takes calls all day, and is rarely the job site, David wouldn’t be for you. But if you want someone who is going to do a solid job and go the extra mile because they understand this is your investment, then David is your guy and we can’t recommend him enough. As a disclaimer we didn’t live in the property so we didn’t have to deal with the day-to-day work and construction mess so we can’t really comment on that experience.

After interviewing 10+ contractors, I found Mr. Huff’s name on Angie’s List. He answered the phone right away, made an appointment and arrived on-time. After consulting with Mr. Huff, we knew right away he was our guy. His approach is not flashy or fancy, just straightforward and realistic. We had a challenging job, converting our basement into a bedroom, bath, laundry and den. The entire basement was gutted and Mr. Huff came in and added the plumbing for the new bathroom and used every inch of space to ensure our wish list of items was fulfilled. One item we really needed was storage – he was willing to build/create built-ins with a ‘secret compartment’ within the studs, a pantry with deep shelves, a broom closet built within the studs, a tiny/challenging laundry area with hidden sink for a folding table on top, etc.

I left a voice mail message in January and have not received a call back yet. It is February 27th.

Wow! We are thrilled with this company! David Huff is an actively involved contractor and maintains excellent communication throughout the entire process. COMMUNICATION = A+! Unlike many contractors, he will be there when he says he will be there. He does quality work, does his homework in making sure he gives you good choices (like matching a roof for us) and they move fast. Paperwork, finances and all that is on the up and up, clear and concise. His crews are busy, polite and keep a clean work site. We could not give a higher recommendation to David Huff and his company. You would be in good hands if you chose to go with this company. He is honest, fair, reasonably priced and conscientious.

David did an excellent job. He gave good advice and the quality is superb. He worked with us to figure out the best way to give us what we were looking for at the best price. The job was completed in a timely manner.

Honestly, Mr. Huff was by far the most responsive of all the contractors we interviewed. He came by to look over the project within one week of the initial request, and provided a verbal estimate of the work within another week. In comparison, other contractors treated the initial appointment as a favor to us, and then had to be repeatedly contacted for any kind of estimate. Mr. Huff is was in the same ballpark numerically for the job estimate, but he was far and above the best in the common courtesy, treating potential clients as human beings department.

David Huff did an outstanding job of designing and building our new screened porch. Its like another room on the house and we love it! He drew up the plans, obtained all permits and constructed a porch that is the envy of the neighborhood. His crew is very talented and dedicated to doing quality work. We are very happy with our new porch and we recommend David Huff for any building project, big or small.

Everything went fine - came out and gave an approximate estimate, it was just too costly right now.

I never received any thing from David, no bid, no call, complete waist of my time.

He took our time to see garage repair work needed after last contractor fail. He said he would provide an estimate by that Saturday. NEVER HAPPENED. We probably scared him off because we mentioned that we wanted a date specified in the contract. If you don't want to complete other work started by someone else or have any other excuse, like don't want to provide a contract with a finishing date specified then at least be man enough and professional enough to tell us that. Not a whisper - no email no call - nothing. REALLY UNPROFESSIONAL!

We used Huff Construction to build our new house in Prince George County. This was our first time building a new house and David Huff was great to work with. We gave him an idea of what we wanted in a new house and he ran with it. He promptly came up with a set of floor plans that were exactly what we were looking for. Once we approved the plans, David and his crew wasted no time getting started. Although we are sure he had many other projects going on, David made us feel like our project was his top priority. He continually made sure we were happy as construction progressed. David takes his reputation seriously and it shows in his work. There were several areas where contractually he could have gotten by with a short cut or use inferior materials and he didn't. He used quality materials and has skilled craftsmen. We have been living in the house now for 2 weeks and couldn't be happier.

I highly recommend David Huff! We had several contractors estimate a major renovation of our retirement home and David stood out from the start. His communication skills are excellent and will work with you to find the best solution to any problem . His crew is professional and their workmanship is quality excellent.

Very nice guy, prompt in arriving for our meeting on the site. Provided a verbal quote, never followed up with a written quote as I requested; would have liked to use their company if we could have reached an agreed price in writing, but when I asked him for a written itemized estimate so I could decide which aspects of the project to eliminate to get it within budget, he never responded and did not reply to requests for follow-up. I am sure he does good work, as he is well-reviewed on Angie's list, I was just disappointed that he did not follow-through on the written estimate - not sure why he thinks I would agree to a verbal contract for an extensive remodel project.

Dave did a great job! he was very prompt, courteous, and professional. Quality of the work was great - more than I expected. As with any contractor, completion of the job depended on subcontractors who are not under Dave's direct control and slowed completion a bit.

Huff, was punctual, professional and polite. He showed up at a house we had under contract and provided us an estimate to repair the problems. He gave us a honest assessment of the property and provided us a price. We did not end up buying the house because the sellers wouldn't agree to do the repairs. I will use Huff with the next project we do, because of the way he does business.

Went very well so far, still gathering information and researching but David Huff has been excellent so far. Felt his estimate was spot on and his responsiveness is well appreciated.

The service went fine. We shopped around, and he was the only one who seemed to know what he was talking about. They did a really excellent job, because it was a mess under the surface, and so getting the brick face back to where it should be. They broke our front light by accident, and they offered to replace it, once we got the house painted, but we haven't done that yet. They scheduled the service and they had to put scaffolding, and we had a New Years Party, and we had to do it with the scaffolding, but that was not their fault. There is a cement part under the window that broke off, and we are waiting to get that repaired. The guy who runs the company was fantastic. We didn't notice that the light was broken, and he called us about it.

He took measurements, gave a few suggestions and sated he would be back in touch with us by the following Monday with an estimate and send us copies of his license and insurance information. We have yet to hear back from him or anyone from the company.
