Do not EVER use this company. They delivered firewood, but once we stacked it up, it was only about half of what we ordered (1/4 cord instead of 1/2 cord). When we contacted them, the guy got VERY agitated and angry, insulting my husband on the phone. We cancelled the check and he came to pick the wood up. He was threatening and very aggressive, and I was frankly afraid of him. He also said that he always delivers 1/4 when people order 1/2, meaning this is his M.O. I later looked up the company on yelp and he has a history of that behavior. Should have done my research to begin with. Do not use them.
Description of Work: Delivery of 1/2 cord of seasoned firewood.

So.... a neighbor of mine hired this insane guy "Tony" off of Craigslist to clear a half acre adjacent to my property. The owner, a very nice guy who had no idea of how "Tony" is and lives 2 hours from this property, was shocked to find out what "Tony" did that day. Tony attacked 1 of the 2 gravel truck drivers and was cursing the other to extreme. The driver he attacked I've known for years and is a very nice 65 yo man that weighs about 135 lbs. The old man had to beat Tony off of him with a metal rod. Both drivers refused to deliver any more gravel. Tony called the owner and told him that he had done all the work when less than half was actually done and then left. I entered the picture not yet knowing of what this maniac was doing and asked him to move a foot of the giant gravel pile he had placed in the road so I could leave to take my mom to the Dr. Tony replied to my request with ** you SOB you don't F'ing need to go anywhere you GD SOB! Being shocked by this, I stepped back for a moment and pondered beating the **** out of him but luckily I held my anger and told him sternly to move it the gravel now. (I'm a bit of an intimidating person physically) So he did move the gravel but I shutter to think what would have happened to someone else as I and his helper had to jump out of the way of the Bobcat as he came at us at a high rate of speed to remove the gravel. As my wife and I were leaving he was giving my wife the finger and screaming obscenities from his Bobcat. I later found out that he ran over another neighbors fence and cursed him and refused to fix it. This guy is absolutely NUTS!!!!!! Good luck to anyone using this guy to do anything. He is a ticking time bomb........
Description of Work: Cleared part of a half acre and terrorized gravel truck drivers and neighbors.

Paid for a "cord" of seasoned oak firewood to be delivered and stacked. Provider showed up and all seemed well. After about an hour of unloading provider seemed angry that they had to stack the wood and said that I should have had the wood dropped in the driveway and gotten a "neighborhood kid" to do the stacking. After that the older man said that they were finished and that he needed the check for the wood. When I went to measure the amount of firewood they had delivered and stacked he became VERY agitated and VERY aggressive. He became VERY confrontational, to the point that I thought I would have to get the police involved. He charged at me several times in an aggressive manner and demanded that he had delivered enough wood and that I would not receive any more even though the quantity was short. In the interest of getting this very unstable man off of my property I gave him the check and asked that he leave. He left grudgingly making threats and insults all the way off the property, he got in his truck and drove off blowing his horn all the way down the street. VERY unprofessional, VERY unstable - felt threatened by his behavior, anger and general rage. The firewood ordered came muddy and dirty as well as soaking wet/ not seasoned like advertised. Wood is also a myriad of shapes and sizes...from 6" long to 18" long including sticks, chunks and generally poor quality firewood. Stay away from this provider and find better quality wood cheaper.
Description of Work: Delivered and stacked less than a cord of firewood...paid for a full cord.

We ordered 2 cords of wood from Virginia Outdoor Works LLC for $300. The wood was delivered on 9/15/2012 and was dumped in a pile in the driveway. The truck driver gave us a business card and no receipt. A receipt is required by VA state law. It must contain the amount of wood, price, and the name of the person delivering the firewood. After racking the wood it became abundantly clear that we were short almost a full cord. We had 3 racks that made up one cord (4X4X8) and one additional rack that was about 1/3 full. We called Mr Haught on Monday 9/17/2012 to let him know that he did not bring enough wood. He became irate and accused us of trying to cheat him. He said he was going to come to our house on 9/22/2012 and take his wood back. We called the Office of Product and Industry Standards, Weights & Measures, Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services toll-free at 1.800.552.9963 to file a complaint. They came to our house to measure the wood on 9/18/2012. According to their measurements, we were 2/3 a cord of wood short. The VA dept representative called Virginia Outdoor Works LLC to try to work things out. Mr. Haught was very belligerent with them as well and claimed we must have hid some of the wood somewhere. Bottom line, do not buy firewood from Virginia Outdoor Works LLC. They are not trustworthy.
