JC'S TREE SERVICE

Description of Work: I ordered a cord of seasoned firewood through Craig's List. The cost was $250 that included stacking. A cord of firewood is 4 x 4 x 8 - that is the standard. JC's Tree Service delivered the firewood. Midway through the stacking I paid the driver the money. They stacked two truck-rows and stopped at 2 x 2 x 8. I looked at him and said this is not 4 x 4 x 8 and he said that was a cord. I decided not to dicuss the matter with him any longer, instead I decided to speak with the lady (Betty) who sold me the firewood. The man got into the truck and drove off. I told Betty I did not get a full cord and provided pictures and measurements of I what I received. She was very sweet, seemed customer-focused on the phone and responded by saying she would "make it right." For some reason I trusted her and decided not put a stop-payment on my check. I felt good that she would "make it right." A few days later, Betty called me and said that the firewood would be delivered between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM. I said I would be home. At 12:15 AM the truck arrived. The owner (Betty's husband I guess) got out of the truck with an attitude and proceeded to walk towards me saying rudley "how much firewood do you expect." My response was "a standard cord of firewood is 4 x 4 x 8; that's what I paid for and that is what I expect." He said that's not the way he cuts the wood, said a few unintelligible remarks and proceeded to walk to his truck, got into it and drove off without providing me with what I paid for not refunding me a portion of my money. Bottom line is I was swindled! Albeit Betty is very sweet on the phone....one does not get value for what one has paid for. I am having my lawyer write them a letter.
