Description of Work: They promised a half cord and delivered that and a bit more. They were on time and the guy who came out in the truck was pleasant and professional. He delivered a good looking hardwood -- dry, quality cuts, not moldy or "buggy." The pieces were cut a little on the large side. I'm dinging them because there's what I would characterize as a larger than necessary delivery fee for the District. It makes the price a bit higher than I think is entirely reasonable. Absent their fee, I would easily give them an "A." Absent a cheaper -- but similar quality -- alternative becoming available, I would use them again without hesitation.

All of the firewood that we sell is 100% kiln-dried with a moisture content of less than 20%. In any case, we are more than willing to refund your money or replace the wood if it is unsatisfactory.

They were prompt in setting up a delivery, and showed up on time. Wood appears to be all good quality dry hardwood oak. Sizes are split in a variety, which I Iike (smaller to get the fire going, larger to avoid too much tending). I have received less than the specified amount in the past from other suppliers, but this is easily one full cord.
Description of Work: Ordered and received one cord of firewood from Five Star Firewood. Not sure if the price is good ($325 for the cord and $75 for delivery), but I would rather pay a little more for better wood. Definitely would use them again.

Great per-cord price for quality, kiln-dried hardwood, but delivery and stacking charges set me back an additional $300. Rick, the proprietor is not easy to get in touch with; generally serves commercial clients, and was hestitant to deliver from VA to my place in MD. but he helped me outand quot; I had several broken ribs at the time and needed someone to deliver and stack to my specs, which the young folks who work for him did cheerfully. I'd use Five Star again, and would reccomend them. Wood is c;ean dry, and burns great.

I've bought a lot of firewood from a lot of folks over the years and I have to say this is the first time I've been happy with both the product and the service. I contacted Five Star Firewood to purchase 3 cords of kiln dried firewood. Daniel responded quickly and we agreed upon terms and a delivery date. He showed up at the exact time he promised and even called 30 minutes prior to alert me he was on the way. He dumped the wood exactly where I had asked and was very careful driving on my property. He was very professional, even giving me an invoice! After he left I stacked the wood and SURPRISE! It was actually 3 full cords!! Not only that it was almost all cut to the 18and quot; length as advertised and it was all hardwood. No fillers like pine, poplar, lumber, asphalt...and no mud and garbage mixed in. I will certainly be calling Five Star for firewood next year.
