The tech arrived promptly, quickly went to work, explained what he found that needed done (it was needing service because the water was filled with sediment/iron). They checked everything, verified proper operation, added the additives to the tank and replaced a small part that was clogged with iron buildup. I've used them before, on a general service call and for an emergency no-water call...and both prior times, I was very pleased with the friendliness and professionalism of the technicians. No problems using them again!

They came when they said they would, fixed the problem, answered all of my questions (I usually ask a lot of them) and helped me with detailed instructions about maintenance that I could perform myself to reduce recurrence of the problem.
Description of Work: Most recent service was to unclog and adjust a chemical feed pump that they installed last year, but we have used this company many times for various well-pump service and water treatment issues over the past several years, some of which were very large in scope. I have not compared their prices, but the quality of their work is high, they are very responsive and their staff is very professional, courteous, respectful, and just plain nice.

The work was professionally done, however I prefer all plastic pipe rather than a combination of brass fittings and plastic pipe as was done. The problem occurred when the on-off cycles of the pump caused the piping in the well to move and it wore the insulation off the wires to the pump. The pump stopped. Since the pump was 15 years old, I agreed to have the pump replaced instead of just having the wiring replaced (there is a charge for pulling up the pump). The new submersible pump (2 hp I think) was $581 which I consider to be fair for such supplied by a well service. After the new pump was installed, upon testing it commenced a continuous rapid on-off sequence. Something was wrong. In previous work on the system that I had done myself, I had set up the incoming pipe in the house with the pressure switch, a water filter, and the pressure tank -- in that order. The technicians felt that having the filter before the tank was causing the problem. They removed the filter element from the filter and put the filter housing back on to test that diagnosis. The rapid on-off still occurred and the test put muddy water into the house piping (a real nuisance since the toilets keep getting mud in the tanks). They then said that that tank needed to be replaced also and additionally pointed to some short links of galvanized pipe that connected to the tank. At this point I was in for about $1000. I agreed to the new tank. When the old tank was removed, I was shown the galvanized piping and it was indeed coated on the inside with a layer of corrosion that partly blocked the pipe lumen. However, when the technician went to town to get the new tank, I reinstalled the filter element (it was probably a new element) and turned on the water to check for the rapid on-off sequence again. At that point, the pump functioned normally. The technician returned and installed the new tank and re-routed the piping so that the pressure switch was first, the tank next, and the water filter last. I explained that I put the water filter before the tank because I did not want mud accumulating in the tank. The technician told me that mud would not accumulate in the tank with the new setup since each time the pump cycled, any mud from the well would be flushed out of the tank. I took his word for it and allowed the service to continue. Except for the muddy water in the house pipes, I was satisfied with the quality of the service. The technicians (two of them in the morning and one finishing in the afternoon). It appeared that quality parts were used and the system has been working fine now for about 5 months. The one aspect of this repair that I was not satisfied with was the hourly rate for the labor. The invoice shows "Labor: 2 men 5.0 hours." The charge for this was $1234.00. Do the math. The two men arrived in the morning around 9 a.m. and worked together until about 12:30 or 1 p.m. They quit for lunch and then one of the techs returned in the afternoon and worked for several hours.
Description of Work: Replace well pump, wiring, pressure tank, pressure switch, associated valves and piping.
