The first two septic service firms I called did not do work on septic pumps. When I told Brown Sr. my problem, he said they could service the pump. Brown Jr. and a helper arrived in a couple of hours. They were very courteous of me and removed their boots before entering the house. They may do a great job pumping out tanks, but it soon became clear they did not understand the electrical aspects of a pump system. Brown Jr. said he would talk to his brother, who did air conditioning work, when he go back to the shop and then call to schedule the repair work. He called later and left a message that brother Brown was too busy and would not be able to get to me for at least a couple of weeks and that the problem may not be the floats in the tank but the control box in the basement was bad. After they left I realized they had taken the documentation and wiring diagram of the system and a couple of the bolts that hold the tank cover in place. (The man who actually fixed the problem with one of the floats only charged $85.)

Ovarll, a superior experience. Having plumbing issues on a weekend and holiday is never a pleasant exprience, but Brown and Son performed extremely well, were punctual and very good about explaining how a septic system works and how best to maintain one.

They were very responsive, less than a week after contacting them they had completed the job. The person was careful not to damage our lawn and everything was cleaned up afterward. We have a pump septic system and he spent a good deal of time discussing the pump and what signs to look for if it begins to malfunction.

Our septic tank was overflowing. Mr Brown returned my phone call (well into the evening at 7:30 PM) within about 15 minutes, asked me questions about where the sewage was leaking, whether or not I had a pump station, talked me through the operation of the pump station, and helped me activate the pump station (electricians had inadvertently switched the circuit in the breaker box) in order to get the sewage to drain to the leach field. Mr Brown was very methodical and knew exactly how to direct my efforts over the phone--and this service cost me nothing. This experience has renewed my faith in service-based companies and I would recommend this Company to anyone who needs help with managing septic issues!

Outstanding. Easy to schedule, on time, efficient, professional. He replaced the sod leaving minmal impact to the lawn. I scheduled this service based on Angie's list reviews and did not try to shop around for a better rate.

They arrived on time, everything went smoothly and they left us with good information for our education.

I used another service to pump my tank years ago. They were very condescending to me, so I didn't want to use them again. I hired Brown and Son on Angie's rating alone and it is a very well deserved A! They were on-time, incredibly polite and very professional. It was a good thing they used the PLAT to find my tank, because not only do I suspect that the last company never pumped my tank to begin with, but my tank had root issues that I was unaware of. They gave me some advice as to how to handle the immediate problem and a contact number for someone to cut down a tree that has been causing some unknown issues with my tank. They also gave me advice about where to avoid driving large vehicles in my yard to prevent cracking the drainage field. The price justified the work they did - They were in my yard all day and had to dig out what look like enough dirt to fill a dumptruck!. While they were packing up, I asked questions about Septic maintenance that I always wondered about - Such as the effectiveness of Rid-X, how much water to use and when, and if any detergents could potentially cause problems, they not only answered every question I asked, but gave me an informative brochure as well. I don't think I will ever use another company again - I am sticking with Brown and Son indefinitely! if I could give them an A+ rating, I would!

I called and they were there within a couple of hours. They were very professional and explained to us what needed to be done in the future to prevent a recurrence of the problem. They checked over the system, including the drain field to make sure that everything was under control. We were very relieved and pleased with their service.

The Browns were on time, polite and very knowledgeable. They located the area quickly. Afterwards, they mentioned that while our septic system was fine, since we have a lot of big trees in the septic field, roots could get into pipes in the future because they would seek the closest source of water. This could cause problems which would be expensive to fix. They recommended an inexpensive solution, and said if we had any questions to feel free to call them. One of the best service experiences I have had recently.

Wayne and his son came out to inspect a septic system for a foreclosure that we are in the process of buying. Wayne was super friendly and gave us a "Septic Systems 101" course on where our septic tank was, where the distribution box was, the drainfield, and how to take care of everything. On top of everything, they inspected the system to make sure we were making a good investment. After we close on the house, we are definitely going to call Wayne back to pump the system. We would highly recommend him to anyone.

I was required to do a 5 year pump out and Derek came out and performed the job. He was very polite and professional and gave us heads up to a possible future issue with the drain pipe. He arrived early and completed the job in a timely manner. I would use him again.

Outstanding! Even after i changed my appointment day/time due to other issues w/ buying the house. They explained everything they were doing (I've never owned a home w/ a septic system) so I would know for future visits. They suggested additional work but at a later date/time. Very professional, courteous and punctual. I will definitely use them for ALL my septic flushes and for any issues that may come up. I HIGHLY recommend Brown and Son!!

Outstanding! Derek (the son of "Brown and Son Septic") came out and did the work himself. He was punctual, extremely polite, very informative, telling me all sorts of things most people don't realize about their septic systems: How the roots of certain trees can clog up the leech field drain pipes, how often to maintain a septic system given the number of people in the household, etc. Plus, he completely the job within the time he estimated. I highly recommend Brown and Son!

They were very good. They were very punctual and showed up right when they said they would. The guy got right to it. He found my septic tank pretty quickly and I didn't even know where it was in the yard. This was the first time we'd ever had it pumped and he dug it out and pumped it out. He was gone in probably an hour and a half. He was very quick and easy, and he was very polite. I had no issues with him.

Everything went fine with them. They were here when they promised to be here and did exactly what they said they would. We did an estimate via email and that’s exactly what it cost. They were right in the ballpark with all the other estimates that we got. I would use them in the future.

They do a good job and charge reasonable prices.

Project went very well from the initial contact, to scheduling a time within a few days and completing the work on time. They came in right at the estimate.
