Description of Work: Greg Bassett with Bassett Home Services gutted our Master Bathroom and redesigned it. From time of contract to finish Greg stayed on top of the job and kept us fully informed. The very thorough contract was divided into parts, i.e. plumbing, flooring, drywall and others. He listed specifics in each area and cost of each major category. Greg and workers started on projected start day and finished by projected end date. The site was cleaned daily before they left. The workmanship was excellent. |Greg was great to work with as a few changes were made. He offered guidance and suggestions for us to consider throughout the process. |We are very proud of our "new" master bath.

Description of Work: Greg Bassett has completed several large projects for us. In all his work, he is always professional, punctual, and cost effective. We will be starting work on a new deck this week, and we are sure this project will be carried out as flawlessly as all his previous work for us, including remodeling our kitchen, two bathrooms, and designing and building an entire room of bookcases.

Description of Work: Installed a screening fence around the AC units. I made a mistake and ordered a 6 foot high fence. I didn't realize until after it was installed that the post awkwardly stood in front of a window. Greg didn't blink and immediately uninstalled and cut the fence to fit the location. It was my fault and yet he didn't make me feel it was any trouble at all. Courteous , prompt , completed project in one afternoon - including redo. Will definitely call again. Fair pricing , even on the second installation , when he could have made me pay a lot for the extra trouble. Quality of fencing that he selected improves look of my property. Very very pleased.

Description of Work: In approximately a six week period last spring, Greg Bassett and his assistant (along with a couple of part-time assistants) gutted the hall bath and kitchen in my 70's rancher, and replaced them with updated, beautiful rooms. Both renovations were major undertakings, and required expertise in many areas...demolition, drywall, electrical, plumbing, tiling, cabinet installation, bathtub installation, painting....and I'm sure I have forgotten something. In addition to providing the services, Greg had a lot of helpful design suggestions, and when we encountered the typical roadblocks, he handled them with good humor and creativity. | |In my bathroom, he removed everything, including the wall tile, and installed new porcelain tile flooring, new tub with porcelain tile surround; new toilet, new vanity and mirrors; bath accessories and wall cabinet. He also put in a chair rail and painted...for a gorgeous result! | |In my kitchen, everything was removed, and a wall was torn down to extend the galley kitchen into our den. He also widened the door at the other end which led into the dining room, to create a much more open look. He installed the cabinets (purchased elsewhere), brought in an electrician to do extensive re-wiring with new fixtures, installed luxury vinyl floor tile and a limestone backsplash; ran a new line for our refrigerator ice-maker; installed a new window; and then painted both the kitchen and the adjoining den. | |Greg is an excellent general contractor, and is particularly skilled with tiling and carpentry. I was very impressed with his professionalism, and also with the work ethic and friendly manner that he and his employees brought to our project. I highly recommend him and hope to use his services again.

Description of Work: Remodel Basement Bathroom

Description of Work: Shower tub unit installation and removal of tile

Description of Work: Replaced bath tub tiling. Installed baseboards. Built and installed custom bathroom door. Laid floor tile in small area. Widened doorway between kitchen and living room. Installed light fixture.

Description of Work: Replaced porch ceiling with bead board, re-screened porch, replaced hand rails and steps on deck. Painted trim on the outside of the porch.

Description of Work: We did a complete kitchen reno in which everything was removed from the space including parts of the walls and studs and the flooring. Everything from the floor up was replaced. The pantry area was completely revamped and a new area created by knocking out walls. Everything that Greg did was on time and was detail perfect. He gutted the space in less than a week and when the flooring was finally available got it down immediately. He was always concerned with our being able to function in the space as we were living in the house while the reno was going on. When the cabinets were available he got them installed and put plywood on top of them so we could actually use the kitchen while continuing to wait for other materials and countertops from vendors. Greg subbed out the electrical work and the sub was very conscientious and did exactly what we asked him to do. The new lighting in the kitchen is wonderful and there are outlets exactly where we wanted them to be. Greg always took time to clean up at the end of every day so that we could function as best as possible through dinner and then breakfast the next day. The thing that impressed us the most was that Greg listened carefully to what we wanted and truly understood the scope of the work we wanted done. In the end, everything was done exactly as we had in mind.

Description of Work: Bathroom shower stall remodel

Description of Work: Greg Bassett was to: Demolish a small first floor half bath, move a wall some 2 feet into the space of an adjoining bedroom, then rebuild the bath as a full bath with glass tile shower. The shower, as Greg suggested for the use of an aging resident of the house, needed a tile seat, handheld shower, as well as a regular shower and grabbars. All plumbing and electrical work installed new. Shelves for linens were added, the exterior walls insulated, tile floor added, beadboard half walls with chair rail moldings, new vanity, window, light fixtures, recessed lighting, dimmers, custom switchplates, finish painting of walls and ceilings, install new hardware. In addition, Greg built a custom walk-in closet in the adjoining bedroom with floor to ceiling shelves and hanging bars, painting the shelves and walls to match the room.

Description of Work: Remodeled 2 Bathrooms in a Rental property. We took both bathrooms down to the drywall and had Greg rebuild them. As we do not live in Charlottesville, we only had the opportunity to meet with Greg one time prior to the start of the job. We had picked out all the components for each bathroom from a Box Store, sent the list and Item #s to Greg. From that list, he prepared his estimate. This company covered all spectrums of the job: plumbing - New tubs, tub surrounds, shower heads and faucets; new vanity sinks and faucets, new toiletselectrical - new lighting fixtures and switchestile work - install ceramic tile on the bathroom floorsinstallation of all bathroom fixtures - vanities, mirrors, medicine cabinets and towel bars, etc. The next result was excellent. We had our property manager review the work upon completion prior to the new tenant taking possession and she was over the top on how great the bathrooms looked. One electrical issue arose after the tenant moved in. Our property manager contacted Greg and it was corrected promptly. Our plan is to continue our relationship with Bassett with this property and our other 2 properties. We already have Bassett signed up to rebuild the deck on this house in the fall

Description of Work: Greg is first rate and restored my faith in contractors. :^) He is punctual and does what he says he will. His estimate was extremely detailed and I knew exactly what i was getting. He got the estimate to me the same day and started the same week.

Description of Work: They installed new kitchen cabinets, crown moldings in my bedroom, and remodeled the bathroom.
