They also recommended the drain field be cleared which should prevent the problem from reoccurring. I would recommend them to others and plan to use them again when it is time to pump my septic tanks in a year or so.
Description of Work: The technicians were on time and arrived with all of the equipment, tools and manpower needed to do the job. They were efficient and explained all of the issues, possibilities and options available. They located and inspected the distribution boxes for my drain field. Then they uncovered the boxes, removed the lids, inspected and cleaned the system (there were roots masses blocking the distribution inlet box) tested the system, cleaned around the boxes, returned the lids and recovered the boxes with soil.

They had to time their work to coincide with dry weather, which was hard to do in September. They called the day before to schedule their work and came promptly the next morning. They had previously told us that our brick walk would have to be removed. They did this with a small backhoe, not removing any more brick than absolutely necessary. They dug down in an area approximately 10 feet by 30 feet to access the septic tank and distributor box. They then marked off the drain field with orange chalk and brought three large pieces of equipment in. First the 8'' pipe was replaced, then two helpers wheeled the air pressure machine to the different chalk marks on the one-acre drain field and under tremendous pressure, forced air and water into the ground. This machine was called a Terra-Lift. And it did. You could see the ground rise after each "treatment." A chock of wood was hammered into the ground to seal the hole. The work took about 4 hours.
Description of Work: Our 33-year old septic system in Powhatan County ceased to work properly. Our plumber diagnosed the drain field not working due to age and accumulated waste. He called in Cumberland-Powhatan Septic Service, Inc. This company was known to us as they had previously pumped out our septic tank on several occasions. They came and did emergency repairs and informed us that we need a "drain field repair" involving using special equipment to air-blast the drain lines into the distributor box and then pump this sludge into their truck. Also the 8'' pipe between septic tank and distributor box had to be replaced.
