Mr. Lewis was very punctual and professional. Since this is a rental of mine I had to coordinate the work via email/phone. He provided me a detail estimate and contract. Photos were provided after the work. Appreciate the professionalism and timely completion of the work.

Excellent service. He met me onsite, gave me a formal estimate, started when he said he would, communicated well by text, phone and email - sending me photos while I was off-site at work.

Pro: Scheduled work quickly, completed construction as described in estimate, finished in a timely manner. Con: Despite promises to clean up thoroughly, left a heavy bag of construction debris behind, hidden behind an old mattress. Overall: A no-frills, moderately priced construction team that got the job done.

I was very happy with him. He was a very good communicator. He was very prompt getting back to me. If I had any questions, he answered them. We ran into a problem with a light fixture. He was really good about figuring out how to fix it and coming back numerous times to get it right. The price was very reasonable. The work was really good. The quality overall was good. He put some eave boarding up for me. I really wasn’t happy with the quality of the product, but I went to a retail chain and got it. I wish I had had a little guidance of other things I might have wanted to think about. If I had gone to another company, I would have gotten a better quality of wood. I would definitely use him again; he is a really good guy.

He is just wonderful to do work with. I am going to have him come back out to do additional work on our house. He is direct, honest and up front with us. He is very devoted to his family and his work which I really like. He does not promise things he can not deliver and he has given us great advice on sub contractors.

They did a FANTASTIC job! They were always professional, explained what they were doing every step of the way, and the overall project was very reasonably priced. I love the way my bathrooms turned out!
Lewis will be the first person I call anytime I need work done on my house in the future.

.I called Mr. Green about replacing some flashing that had been dislodged and blown off in a wind storm. He was very busy and said he would not be able to get to me for about 6 weeks. He asked where I lived and said he was working nearby and would come by to see if this was something he could get done fairly quickly. It turned out he thought he could and came by the next day to replace the flashing and while he was at it, he reinforced several other pieces while he was on the roof. He was very professional and efficient and wonderful to work with. I would use him - and plan to - in the Spring for other jobs around the house.

I contacted LDM Associates because someone hit my mailbox with their car. Lewis' repair was really nice. It looks better than before it was hit. I would use him for other things that need repair around the house in the future.

"[Member name removed] contacted LDM in 2012 to remodel her bathroom. The Bathroom Big Deal was only to cover a 5x8 bathroom to replace the toilet, bath tub, vanity, and tile as outlined by Angie's List. Any issues that were found behind the walls after the demo, ie Plumbing or electrical were not covered by the Big Deal. It was outlined in detail in the contract that [Member name removed] signed that any extra work needed to be done would require a change order and an additional charge. [Member name removed] bathroom floors and walls were fully concrete. Therefore, the 500.00 charge covered the removal and disposal of the massive amount of concrete regardless of the time frame that it took. We estimated 3 days to remove it. However, we were fortunate to bring in five other workers from our other jobs to have it done in such short time. [Member name removed] was given a $1200 credit from LDM because she wished to select and purchase her toilet, vanity, shower, and tile. The delay in completing the renovation was due to the fact that [Member name removed] wanted to find her own plumber after an estimate for moving the heat pipes were given to her. After 6 months of not finding a plumber on her own, [Member name removed] contacted LDM giving permission to use the licensed and insured plumber who had given her the original estimate to do the work. Yes we used [Member name removed] water key and step ladder only with her permission. LDM has always and will continue to stand by its name and services. We are a company of integrity and we aim to please our customers from start to finish. Once the bathroom was completed, LDM went through every detail of the work that was done with [Member name removed] and at the end she stated that she was pleased with the finished product. Shortly after that, [Member name removed] notified us that the orange paint that she had chosen and purchased did not meet her standards. Therefore, LDM offered to contract and pay a painter of her choice to come out and paint the bathroom to her specifications. Her painter was hired and LDM paid for her services. Unfortunately, [Member name removed] said she was pleased with the work but took us to court and the judge ruled that there was no proof that the work completed was unsatisfactory. Following the dismissal of the case, [Member name removed] also filed a claim at the Appellate Court and the judge after hearing the case, ruled for dismissal again stating that LDM had not done anything wrong and had dutifully honored the contract in detail. We took every measure to ensure that [Member name removed] was a happy and satisfied client. We will continue to offer our services with the utmost integrity, character, and values that we have always demonstrated in the 25 years that we have been in the construction industry."

Reached out to Lewis to do a small drywall job at parent's house. He responded same day and treated me as if I was asking for a big job to be done. He was punctual, job was well done, and price was right. Would recommend him to a friend and will use him in the future.

We purchased a "big deal" through Angie's List to remodel our bathroom and we could not have the work performed right away. Lewis called me after awhile, and asked if I still wanted to have the work done. He was very accommodating with my start date. They began early February. Lewis came in to look at the job, and to ask what we wanted to do with the new bathroom. He gave me many options to accomplish what we wanted, and explained the varies ways we could design our bathroom.
Lewis and crew pay attention to detail, and clean before they leave each day. They completed the work in the time frame they presented at the beginning. It is really amazing what they have accomplished in our home. I am anxious to start some of the additional projects that I have discussed with Lewis.

First the good stuff. The most responsive contractor I've ever used. Always returned my phone call and emails. Was on time ,on schedule and friendly.
Now the not so good. The quality was a little below average but he was willing to comeback and make repairs after the fact.
Did not put up a barrier to contain the dust to the room he was working in. Agreed to buy the KIitchen cabinets I wanted while they were on sale. When it came time to pay the bill he said the sale had ended before he was able to purchase. Cost me an extra 20% for the cabinets. Make sure you get everything in writing before he does the work and you will probably be OK.

The project went longer than anticipated but the out of plumbness and structural deficient beam caused some breakage in schedule. Overall, son and daughter-in-law are very satisfied. And we know that if we weren't Lewis would be back to fix whatever we didn't like.

I called Lewis Green of LDM to make an appointment after reading his rave reviews on Angie's List. I got estimates from three renovators, and chose Lewis as the best fit for my project. Due to his schedule, he could not start work for a couple of months. This was fine as it allowed me time to make selections and have deliveries made that would allow the work to go without interruptions.
I call Lewis the rock star of renovations! He is energetic, amiable, professional and great fun to work with. His communications with us were faultless. His crew and subcontractors were just outstanding, as well as polite and friendly. They did incredible work. The scheduling was right on; rarely was there a day in which no one was working on the job.
This was such a great experience I am repeating it next spring with a hall bathroom renovation, done of course by LDM and Associates!

We gave him $22,000 up front as part of 3 payment job. However, one quarter of the way into the job, he wanted to change the contract because he stated the den was not in the contract. At that point he decided that he would not complete the deck because we didn't comply with his request to change the contract and walked off the job. We brought him back to our home to discuss our desires and he decided to start back on the work (10/19/12). On the 31st he asked us to sign another contract and give him $20,000 and we refused based on the prior conversation with him.
He charged us the full price of the siding and took the old trim off wrinkled it up and put it back on. He said he was going to fix but he did not. In the back room they torn up concrete flooring and did not fix. He have a loft in the back room that he covered up with sheet rock and he did not even ask if that was what we wanted. The access to the AC was on the room to the main house and when had the addition added on the AC unit was moved to the addition. He went in the attic and cut a hole in the old part of the house to get to the new part of the house instead of using the access that was already there. He did a lot of work his way without asking how we wanted it done.
They put a wall over of the top of AC units and did not cover them which may cause mold from the air going up. He knocked holes in lot of the walls and left them there. He took out the electrical wires and left them dangling. He knocked holes in the kitchen walls, ceiling and floors, you can see the beams and insulation in the attic. He cut rectangular holes in the walls, but we don't know for what. He left us stranded for this work, we don't have access to the stone ,dishwasher, sink or anything in the kitchen it is demolished. They left nails in the sub floor and it is showing. He started doing sheet rock but skipped area that left it open. He left a area of the wash machine and did 3 sides of it but did not put sheet rock in the last part of the work.
The price for the deck was close to $9000.00 and did not start, but would not give us the money back, he came up with 3 different contracts for us to sign to do the work and when we questioned or disagreed he said he was not going to do the work. When we told him the contact is for two people to agree on he disagreed. He charged us in the contact for removing the 8 windows at $20.00 which he never did remove.

"The member hired LDM to come in and complete a job where another contractor had walked off this same job. Most of the items complained about are the result of us trying to go in and repair the damages done from previous contractors. .According to the county records this job has been ongoing since 2005. Her home has been in disarray for seven years. We took on the job September 2012 with the hopes that we could deliver an excellent finished project as proven by our satisfied customers over the years. Per the homeowner, family members and other non professionals have come in to work on her house causing us to rework the wiring in the section that she hired us to work on. According to electrical code, once you notice that wiring is hooked up incorrectly, it is the responsibility of the licensed professional to bring this information to the attention of the homeowners with the hopes of them giving you the go ahead to make the necessary repairs to ensure that the home is electrically safe. We were forced to leave the job because the homeowner asked us to make some changes mid way into our construction project. We reiterated numerous times and on numerous occassions that LDM can not make any changes based on a verbal agreement. My architect, the member and I discussed at length the location of her deck and other items that she wanted to change. However, when the new contract was rewritten, The member refused to sign the change order. After several attempts of non cooperation from the member it was in the best interest of our company and its employees to remove from this project. Again we cannot proceed without written agreement. LDM is a company of high standards and excellence. We always put our customers first. In the 25 years that we have been in business, we have never been forced to leave a job unfinished. Therefore, we continued to work with the member but to no avail. We stayed longer than we should have waiting to see if the member would sign the change order after several attempts to explain the change order to her. If we were allowed to stay on this job and complete it in its entirety, the member would have been a satisfied customer as our ratings on Angie's list has proven throughout the years. With regret, LDM did not leave on our own volition, we were forced off of this job because of the members' refusal to sign the new contract which indicated the change order that she asked us to do verbally. We were working on several areas of the house and had we been able to stay and complete the work, the holes for the electrical boxes would have been closed, the dry wall was hung and was at the finishing stage, and the return vent would have been relocated to the front of the wall. The work is unfinished at this point because legally we cannot continue to work and make changes without the homeowner's written approval. According to the National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies "A change order is a written agreement between the owner and the contractor to change the contract. Change orders add to, delete from, or otherwise alter the work set forth in the contruction documents. Change orders are standard in the construction industry as a legal means for making changes to the contract." In addition, the signing of the change order was in the favor of the homeowner because it reduced the overall cost of the job when the deck that she refused to intial on the architectual plans were taken out. With that said, all LDM wanted the member to do is to sign the change order shiowing that she wanted changes made to the contract. Had the member signed the aforementioned change order, we would still be on her job to complete it."

I have a house built in 1936. The house has had no major updates, except so a few fixtures and switches. This project was a total update and renovation of the original kitchen and converting what had been a walk-up attic into a suite. Anyone who has been through a renovation when you are knocking out old plaster walls knows that the most over whelming aspect of this type of work is the dust it generates. Lewis and crew took measures to isolate the dust while completing the work.
As I said before the crew was wonderful and a pleasure to discuss what they were doing and their thoughts and ideas. Overall the project went well. Obviously, some things could have gone smoother, but Lewis was always just a phone call away to address issues and provide solutions. I would have no problem recommending Lewis to anyone looking for an honest and transparent contractor. He get's it that by satisfying his customers it only builds his brand and reputation. Also Lewis is very competitive on price when compared to some contractors. If you are having work done, you need to call Lewis and put him up against any other contracting professionals. He and his team are true professionals.
I am grateful for having Lewis partner with me on this project. I am very happy with the results and value we have added to my home.
Thank you Lewis.....

I was interested in the kitchen floor being done first. I had had tremendous difficulty finding someone who was willing to install a particular brand of linoleum. Lewis Green, researched it; arranged for it to be done. Did it on my schedule
Bathroom took longer but that was a combination of issues we had with scheduling because of house guests etc. I am very happy with the finished product. It was a longer process than I had anticipated, but again, much of that was caused by demands on us.
There was a bit of difficulty caused by the travel distance between Chesterfield and Eastern New Kent.
I would definitely use him again.

LDM provided new weather stripping to our front door. It made a big difference and was installed beautifully. However, once the heat and humidity hit, the wooden door swelled and caused some difficulty. I contacted LDM and the very next day, Mr. Green himself arrived to make the adjustments! How incredible is that? LDM truly stands by their work and goes above and beyond to acheive customer satisfaction!

This was my first time ever using a contractor and I am SO pleased I chose LDM. Lewis and his crew could not have been more professional or pleasant to work with. I had no idea how the project would go and Lewis led me through it step by step. As an older, single woman I never felt he was taking advantage of me price-wise. At the end, when he told me there be an extra charge because of the sub-flooring and other repairs they had to do in the bath, I thought $200 more was very modest. I definitely recommend this company!

This project involved building a screened porch over a 15 x 26 concrete patio. The patio was slightly below grade level and surrounded by a low brick wall, so it basically acted like a large bathtub in heavy rains and sometimes flooded into the interior of the house if I wasn't able to put out a portable pump during heavy rains. Also, the patio was old and cracked and not used for anything important. I had the idea of building a screened porch there to deal with both the flooding and lack of use. I ended up having four contractors give estimates on the job. One gave an estimate on the spot that I thought was too high, one drew up a preliminary plan that didn't deal with the flooding problem, and one refused to modify contract language that was very unfavorable to the buyer. On what I said at the time was my last attempt, I called Lewis Green. Lewis showed up with an entire team who puzzled over the situation and came up with what I thought was a workable plan at a fair price. He proposed to lay a skim coat of new concrete over the old patio that would be angled toward a corner in order to facilitate drainage. A sump pump would be installed in the drainage corner. He had plans and a contract drawn up. We verbally agreed upon some non-structural items, but I was concerned that they would be forgotten if they were not in the contract, so he drew up a formal addendum to the contract. Construction proceeded relatively smoothly. There were a few glitches, the biggest of which was that the concrete coat was not laid all at the same time, but Lewis always worked with us to fix all problems. He answered both phone and email requests quickly and often came to the job site. All of his workers and subcontractors were skillful and hardworking. Lewis wants his customers to be satisfied, and we certainly were! Lewis says he's "not going anywhere" and will continue to work with us if problems arise. For my money, you can't get any better than that!

Mr. Green, was responsive, friendly and easy to work with. Went out of his way to answer questions and helping deal with a broken light fixture (new) even to the point of meeting me at a parts store to explain the part needed to make the repair. Great paint crew. All requests during the job were taken care of, no questions. Great experience!

There was an addition on my house that had been poorly built and as a result needed to be taken down. This room was attached to the kitchen, so the kitchen floor was also involved. I received several estimates and chose LDM Associates based on my comfort level with the estimate and the personality of the owner, Lewis Green. The project that I ended up undertaking was a new (larger) addition and a completely renovated kitchen. Lewis and his team were very professional and very kind throughout the process. He guided me through the many decisions, making recommendations when appropriate and pushing me to make choices when necessary. I travel for my job, so I am often away from home. I felt very comfortable with them in my house - they even brought in my mail when I was gone! Everyone involved was very tidy, leaving the workspace picked up every day. The whole project took about 5 months, so I feel like I got to know all of the team pretty well - Lewis definitely kept a close eye on the work, progress, etc. I think he was on site most days. I could not be happier with the results! I will definitely stay in touch with Lewis Green and use his help with any future projects.
