Great...fast

Mark said he will come back to complete the driveway after it gets hot outside. It started raining on the day that they put down the product and they were unable to finish the compacting. Right now, the driveway is very soft and we have to be careful how we drive and turn around on it. Delivery trucks leave terrible ruts in it that we have to try to spread out and stamp down. Even the deer are leaving their foot prints. I called Mark Paving the first week of February and told him the problems I was having. He said he would be back around June to finish up, to not worry about it. I will update this review then. This is now August and I have not heard back from Mark. We have had many 90+ degree days and the underneath part of the driveway has hardened. But, the whole top layer is loose particles. When wet, they track into the house and into the garage from our car tires. I was hoping for maintenance free, but not so. I don't know if these loose particles are because of the little compaction that was done, or if it's just the nature of recycled asphalt. Mark had assured me he would check out the driveway after the weather warmed up, but he has not. Very disappointing.

Amazing experience with these guys.. we had a major issue getting up and down the driveway so we gave them a call. Prompt, detailed, talented.. all of the above. We are very happy with these folks. I would recommend them to anyone.

With a sense of urgency to get my driveway asphalted as I would soon be putting my house on the market, Mark Morrison Paving was one of three paving contractors I contacted for an estimate. They promptly returned my call and the next day showed up on time to listen to my needs and measure / evaluate the driveway to provide an estimate on the spot. I felt their price was fair and reasonable and, in addition, they were able to start this descent-sized job within two business days. Upon arriving on time on the first day, they went straight to work removing the old driveway, installing the drainage, and grading the sub-base. Given the close proximity to the house, they were extremely careful not to contact any siding, garage doors, the block walkway leading off the driveway, or surrounding shrubbery. Additionally, they were very conscientious about the positioning of their equipment and neat placement of their gear for both appearance and as not to interfere with us. On the second day, the numerous trucks hauled in approximately 30 to 35 tons of asphalt and they evenly laid it such that the 'seams' between the different lay-downs weren't even noticeable. As required for my drainage needs, they rolled it to ensure the proper flow of rainwater to the drains and pipes. Our new driveway looks great, is performing wonderfully, and has led to several individuals asking me who did the work. I am extremely pleased with the process and outcome and highly recommend their services.

Both Mark Jr. and Mark Sr. (company owners) showed up with their crew perfectly on time. I had an errand to run, but Mark Jr. wouldn't let me leave until I approved the pathway that he'd thought would be best. With a gazillion trucks and paving machines (OK, five), and a crew of at least 7, the gang worked efficiently and tirelessly. Using 3" of asphalt, rolling it over and over with their machines to make the driveway beautifully smooth, and making sure that both sides were graded to the lawn and weed free, Mark Morrison Paving performed a job that was utterly jaw-dropping. All that, and done in a day! (From approx. 8a to 4p.) Mark Morrison Paving is a company that is obviously committed to do the best work possible. Thanks to this company, my driveway is a joy -- I'm now doubly proud of my fabulous home! I honestly don't believe any other choice would be better.

I selected Mark Morrison Paving after discussions and estimates from four other paving contractors and I am most happy with the results. The level of detail provided in their initial description of services to be provided was much more thorough and descriptive and they did exactly what they said they would do from the preparation phase through clean up. I found, in every sense of the word, both Mark Morrison, Sr and his son, Mark Morrison, Jr. to be most professional and very easy contractors with whom to work. They were immediately responsive to every observation I made during the execution phase of the contract. They certainly get my vote for being a highly professional, dependable, reliable firm with whom I would do future business.

I had called 9-10 other paving companies prior to calling Mark Morrison. Some of them never called back, some called back nearly 2 weeks after my initial call or contact. When I called Mark, I got a call-back within about 15 minutes. For my installation, I have a pretty steep sloped yard and needed to pave a section about 130' long x 12' wide and then a 20' x 60' area at the bottom of that. Due to the slope and the length, I wanted to do it with tar/chip (some folks call it oil/stone). Mark Morrisons son came out to do the estimate. He was on time for the meeting to do the estimate, walked out the sections I was describing. We talked about some options for the work and we came to an alternative using "intermediate", a step above tar/chip for the paved portion. This still has the rough texture that I really wanted due to the sloping nature of the terrain but a bit more solidity and stability over tar/chip. The work would be to excavate/grade the entire section to be paved, lay a base course of stone, then lay down the intermediate layer of asphalt. The existing circle driveway would also be excavated/graded and then a course of what most folks call crusher run would be layed down there. We worked through the price and based on other estimates I had gotten from folks the quote he gave me was very fair based on the amount of excavation/grading/etc that had to be done. I still had a couple folks who said they would call me back with estimates so it was a few days before I called Mark back to schedule the work. When I did call back to set up the schedule they called back that same day and we agreed it would be on a thursday. The crew showed up exactly when he said they would, they came prepared, worked very efficiently and at the end of the first day all of the prep work was done for both surfaces. The following day they came back, we asked them to expand one section of the circular driveway a bit and they did easily and without any issues. That second day they did the entire paving section and also got the circular driveway set up with gravel. It was solid, level, and well packed down. The paved portion looked exactly as we had laid it out. To me, it seemed that the crew that came out was very experienced as they worked deliberately and had good attention to detail; Experience shows in the way people work and how they work, and it definitely shows on the crew that did my job. Mark Jr came to the job-site on both days to inspect/direct and the crew executed exactly as it had been planned out without any disruption to any of the landscaping/etc. I met Mark Jr at the house to do the end of job inspection, we talked for a while and I happily paid for the work. After getting little response from other contractors or pretty inflated estimates, it was very refreshing to finally deal with someone who was on-time, professional, and did solid work at a fair price. I can't speak for anyone else and I honestly haven't used many contractors for paving before, but when it comes time to pave my circular driveway out front, I am definitely going to be calling Mark Morrison paving back.

It went very good. They were easy to work with. They have a coupon. I had a positive experience.

The installation could not have gone any better. Mark brought pavers for us to choose from and then ordered all supplies to be delivered. The work began and finished on time. The job that they did looks great! They are highly recommended.
