Let the horror story begin. Our first mistake was believing Trident's motto, "One Quality Pool at a Time". Our second mistake was paying in-full prior to the completion of the work. Lack of communication with the customer is also a primary complaint. They fail to keep the customer informed of the progress and do not return calls when messages are left. After completion of the pool, we noticed that we were filling the pool with water entirely too often. Having been a pool, owner in the past, we knew that this was not right. A complaint was made to Trident and the process to locate a leak began. It was determined by Trident that the liner was leaking from a seem and would need to be replaced. Prior to draining the pool (approx 16,000 gallons of water), the ground water around the pool needs to be pumped out to prevent the pool from being pushed up out of the ground by the high water table in out area. The access to the well points had been cover up during the back-fill process around the pool walls. Trident buried the access point and claimed it was the concrete installers fault. This now required the cutting and break-out of concrete in the suspected area at MY EXPENSE in order to find the covered access point! Mistake #3, I agreed because I wanted the work done and not be tied up in a civil matter. The cost was $755 of which Trident wanted up front. We originally agreed that Trident would do the cut-out and that I would be responsible for the pour after the work was done. BJ (Trident) changed his mind and I was responsible in full for their error in the first place. The liner was installed and at my expense the pool was refilled. The new concrete pool was done in less than ideal conditions. It was misting rain and cold. The end result for the finish was less than acceptable. The entire surface scaled and flacked away within several weeks. Trident agreed to re-do the concrete. Eight months have pasted without any action being taken to replace the deformed concrete. No phone call, nothing, I am now considering filing a civil action in small claims court. The story gets better. The liner was not the cause of the leak. A leak detection company was sent to find the leak. They found the leak at one of the main drains by putting the lines under pressure, diving in the water and hearing the leaking air. Trident was not responsive to this news as we went through several weeks of messages left and NO return calls. Finally, Trident sent a crew to begin the process yet again. Yes, drain the 16,000 gallons (again), remove the liner, bust up the bottom of the pool, fix the leaking pipe, replace the vermiculite, replace the liner and start the refill. It was discovered that one of the installers had cut the pipe for whatever reason and not replaced the pipe prior to any other work. So this pool process all started in January 07'- here it is September 08' and issues are still in limbo. Don't expect Trident to balance your water, thats at your time and expense.
