We are a full-service tree company serving clients in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, and some areas of Suffolk. Art-is-Tree offers tree removal, elevation, pruning, and stump grinding. We are accredited by the Hampton Roads Better Business Bureau, licensed, and insured.
"Contractor described in detail what was to be cut or trimmed. The pecan tree had numerous limbs that needed trimming due to illness. There were three limbs that were already broken needing only to be slightly cut to fall completely. The contractor described the different limbs that were dying and needed to be trimmed and shaped, symetrically. I was left assured the dead limbs would be trimmed back and the tree left in a symetrical shape. I was not called to inform me that they were at my home. I had to leave an appointment and drive to my home. Again I went over exactly what the contractor was to do in detail. Due to the other appointment I paid the contractor and left. Since the contractor and I had reviewed the work to be done twice, I felt comfortable paying him."

When your property needs tree trimming, tree removal, stump grinding, or storm damage cleanup, you can turn to us. We have been providing superior tree service and snow removal to the area for more than 28 years. No job or tree is too big for our experts.
"Thank you to the hard working professionals at Scott Lane's Tree Service for their excellent work on my project. I initially requested estimates from different tree services through "Angi", and received some estimates. Scott Lane's Tree Service was one of the companies that gave me an estimate. We initially discussed the type of work that I wanted done over the phone. A crew member came out, went over all of the details, and gave me a written estimate that day. On the day of the project, a full crew came out and got the work done within a few hours, which included clean-up of all debris. They did a very thorough job on four tall pine trees which were overgrown, growing over the roof, and reaching power lines towards the street behind the house. Two live oaks, which had grown together, were separated, thinned-out, and shaped. A mimosa tree and a mulberry tree were cut back from the house, and from over the driveway. Deadwood was also removed from the two. I highly recommend your company. Thank you again for a great job!"

"Everything went as Daniel said. They showed up top cut down and remove a very large pine tree in my front yard. They showed up at 8:30am as promised and by 9:30 the tree was completely down, they were removing their safety gear and putting their tools away while cleaning up. I've watched other tree services take at least 6 hours and cause damage to property. BBB came with everything to get the job done quickly, safely and efficiently. They even cleaned up any adjacent property that may have received any debri. These guys know what they are doing. I recommend them without hesitation."

Yes, you will want to confirm that the tree removal company you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. Tree removal can be dangerous work, and it's important to verify that the company carries the proper insurance to cover any onsite accidents or damage.

On average, removing a tree costs around $750, but you can expect to pay between $200 to $2,000. Factors that impact the overall cost include the number of trees you’re having removed, their height, the diameter of their trunks, permits needed, and the tree’s accessibility. You’ll pay more if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or dangerous location, like close to power lines.

The cost varies depending on a number of factors, including the size of the tree, location, accessibility, whether or not the stump is also being removed, and other environmental factors.
Answered by Elan Flores at Flores Artscape in Los Angeles, CA on 01/07/25
Each tree is different, and costs can vary widely based on factors including tree size, hardness of wood, difficulties caused by location of the tree and proximity to nearby structures and objects, inherent risk involved in specific removals (e.g. rotten sections of trunk), requirements of dealing with municipalities and local governments for tree removal permits, and the methods employed by the tree worker to remove your tree.
A single tree could cost as low as $100 to remove or $10,000 dollars or more depending on these factors. It is also important to keep in mind that many companies have a minimum price to come out and do work or even give quotes.

If there are no online reviews, ask them for referrals. If a tree removal company is reputable, you won't be their first client. It's perfectly acceptable to ask for references on your initial call, and if a removal company won't provide referrals, it's time to move on.
Find out what equipment they use. Some types of tree removal equipment are better than others, and a removal company might need special tools to get your particular job done. On your first conversation with a prospective removal company, make sure that you clearly express the nature of the job you want accomplished and receive assurances that the company has the proper equipment.
Consider all of the costs. Always ask for an estimate up-front. Inquire about the job itself and any potential hidden fees that you might not be aware of.

To have a fallen tree removed near your home, you can expect to pay between $100 to $500. Your local tree removal professional will most likely just need to cut and remove the tree from your property, but factors like the size of the tree and its trunk diameter impact this cost. In addition, there will be an extra cost to fill in the hole left by the tree, and while you have your tree removal specialist on-site, it might be worth it to have them inspect the other trees in your yard for potential damage. Trees that have fallen onto your home or another structure, will likely be more costly to remove.

The minimum cost is $500 to $1,000, as disposal of tree debris is between $200 and $300 per load.
Answered by Jeff Searles at Lakeshore Tree Care in Chanhassen, MN on 01/08/25
Costs can range from $500 up to $2,000, on average. It depends on the size of the tree, the location, accessibility, if there are hazardous conditions surrounding the tree and the environment, and if other work is being done on the property along with fallen tree removal.
Answered by Elan Flores at Flores Artscape in Los Angeles, CA on 01/07/25
It really depends on if it's just lying on the ground or if it fell on a structure. The cost could be anywhere from $500 to $10,000. There's a wide price range because some fallen trees are really easy to remove, while others are very difficult and require a crane.
Answered by Kenneth Kirlin at Carolina Tree Trimmers LLC in Summerville, SC on 01/06/25
You can expect to pay about $1,000 to $4,000 to have a fallen tree removed. Trees that have fallen require more labor to remove than one that's standing.
Answered by Jeremiah Erickson at Chameleon Property Services LLC in Albany, NY on 01/13/25
Budget over $1,500 if you need a tree removed from your yard that’s larger than 80 feet. Large tree removal is a significant project that requires a crane, and the overall price will increase if the tree is close to your house. Typically, smaller trees can cost as low as $8 per foot to remove, while larger trees (over 80 feet) can cost at least $15 per foot.
