 + -1 moreI made an appointment with him right away and he followed up-arriving even earlier than expected. He was well equipped with tools and parts and made short order of the task. He showed his experience was very personable. I thought his price to be very good and I've already recommended him to a neighbor and a personal friend.
Description of Work: Overhaul of my power mower to include new oil,filter and plug. He sharpened the blade, made some adjustments and did all this curbside within a short time span.

 + -1 moreI thought everything had gone fine, but should have watched the work. After Tom's first visit, I got half way across the yard and the self-propelled drive broke again. Tom returned and said he hadn't properly put the pin in and that was fixed again. I then tried to cut the lawn and the mower kept stopping again. I called Tom after work on Thursday or Friday. He was having trouble tracking the conversation and seemed incapacitated. The call did not go well. He returned to my house the following week and tried to fix the mower again. This time he took part of the carburetor apart and showed me the debris in it. Apparently, it was not cleaned very well in the first place. In his favor, Tom made all these trips back without attempting to charge more for his service. However, the mower still would not run without cutting out halfway through the lawn. This two year old Toro likely needs a new carburetor. I decided to go buy a new mower. I have decided that, considering the low cost of these machines, a new mower every two or three years will be less expensive and less irritating that the $100+ repair/tuneups. When I removed the fluids from then old machine, I found that oil had NOT been changed in this process.
Description of Work: Lawn mower needed a tune up and stopped intermittently. Tom came out to fix it and do a tune up, in addition to repairing the self-propelled drive.
