Description of Work: Smith & Keene Technicians are awesome. No Problem. Customer Service is excellent. ** ISSUE is the initial advertisement before being changed yesterday was for 2 services per year for $120 per one unit. (I have a screen capture if needed to show and Smith & Keene and an Angies List rep confirmed the initial ad showing 2x per year.) Smith & Keen relayed the intended advertisement is for 1 service call for inspection per year. Direct coordination and annual service agreements with SMmith & Keene are for 2 services per year, so the initial ad seemed correct with a good price. ** Smith & Keene stated they could not honor that cost for $120, so I request a refund. (This is a second instance of confusion from an advertisement that almost gives the impression of a Bait & Switch like situation and we are not comfortable with the business practice. Again, technicians are great as is Customer Service.

Description of Work: I currently have a service agreement with Smith and Keene to check out my heating and air conditioning equipment twice a year. Dominion Power also offers a rebate to encourage homeowners to keep their equipment operating at their peak performance levels!

Description of Work: Came to our house to provide an estimate on a new heat pump installation. The cost was $6,300 for a 2.5 ton Lennox unit. We ended up no going with them because we learned that Lennox makes proprietary parts that can be challenging to obtain (only one distributor in the area) and because we found a better price.

Description of Work: Our AC unit was making a strange noise and the fan was not moving. I'm not a big fan of the paying the $89 for them to just come out and "diagnosis". I get they don't want to do it free but it should come off the bill if you have them do the work. That being said, the tech, who was always very polite and professional, said it was the condenser motor. When asked the cost to replace said about $400. Not comfortable with the "about", I called the next day and was told it would be $394. So I felt ok then. When they called to schedule the install the price changed to $456. Not so ok with that after having called to confirm the price. She said, that was the second time that week that had happened but would go with the $394 unless they called back. Then the tech could not get the fan blade off so that meant purchasing a new fan blade?? He said again, "about $100". When I called that day to check it was $213! When I complained about getting some many different prices, I was told the techs do not have the prices which is why a "manager" only can do the prices. Why do the techs not have the prices in their ipads? Shouldn't they be able to tell people the prices and be accurate? I understand the ipads make it easy for them for record keeping purposes but they need to print out a receipt for the customer.
