Our ServiceMaster Family was started in 1984. We are a family owned and operated business offering a variety of services from Fire/Water mitigation to construction services. We are proud to say that our firm was one of the groups that restored the Pentagon after the disaster that occurred on 9-11. Our company has also been the recipient of numerous awards in customer service and workmanship. The ServiceMaster brand is committed to providing customers with the peace of mind in their time of need. That is why we are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Right in the middle of the pandemic I suffered damage to my home that required the removal and storage of my furnishings from the affected living and dining room areas. During and still under construction I can assure anyone reading this review that ServiceMasters were the one (and only) service that was involved that performed well beyond my expectations. I can say I was pleasantly pleased with their performance, professionalism, and response to all my requests. They wanted me to know that they were there for me and genuinely wanted to make a very stressful situation better. After more than 20 years in the military I've made many moves stateside as well as overseas. I can put ServiceMasters on the top of my list when it comes to servicing my pack out and pack in. I hope I dont miss anyone but I just want to say Thank You Thank You and Thank You Deanna, Kim, Ashley. Sisi, Efrem and Devon for all you've done to help me during this so stressful and trying time. You are my go-to and I would highly recommend your services. Thank You!

Services were not completed and services that were completed were not to satisfaction. Servicemaster was hired through an insurance claim for water damage to my kitchen floor in my house. Servicemaster took the floor up and did a great job on the demolition but when it came to the remodeling they destroyed my house. The hard wood flooring that was laid down was damaged due to laying equipment on the new floor and was never fixed. There is a piece of the flooring that is coming up. When the drywall was replaced, the paint was not matched. When the cabinet doors were replaced the knobs were not replaced with the correct screws. The hallway door was not hung up correctly and damaged the wall. A piece of trim was not matched with the rest of the trim. I've tried desperately to get servicemaster to correct these issues but all I get are excuses or no one will answer the phone. The owner will not take responsibility for his employees mistakes. MR CRANK THE BUSINESS OWNER will hang up on you every time because he doesn’t want to take any responsibility of his quick buck company. DAVID KAZINSKI never wants to answer the phone when it might require him to do any work. I had to sell my house with an unfinished floor after giving them a year to fix it. When you have 5 kids you don’t have money to waste on a servionot being completed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

No one ever calls back... Ken came out to see my home in Oct 2017, told me it was an easy job and that he saw no issues with the repair and small changes I would like to have done. He was going to go back to the office and in about a week he was going to send me the estimate. That is the last time I have heard from him. During the walk thru I suggested that I would like to have my kitchen redone since they are going to remove everything anyway. I also told him that there was no need for quartz or high-end replacements as the area I live in would not be able to get the true value out the upgrade. He said no problem. He had Global Home Decor, Inc. contact me about what cabinets I would like in the kitchen and I would need to come to their store to see what I would like. Once I got there they informed me that they only deal in Quartz and Granite counter tops and high-end cabinets. They also told me that I was not allowed to know the price as ServiceMaster will be the ones to tell me how much I will have to pay. I called back and left a message for Ken to call me about this as it is not what I want, nor what we agreed too. Since then, I have called several times and always been told that he was not in the office, but that he will call me back. That never happens. If he did not want to do the job, he could have told me. Rather than just hiding. I will never recommend this company to anyone. I suggest that everyone avoid them like the plague. They are just too lazy to actually do any work. More than likely the company has serious issues with doing work for veterans.

In conclusion, it is our position that Service Master of the Southside utilized unskilled workers, unsound demolition methods, dishonest subcontractors and did more damage to our property then was called for.
Description of Work: Service Master of the Southside came to our home on 1/27/2014, called by our insurance company Harford. They came with no plan, personnel which were incapable of handling a plan and caused more damage to our home then the water. After submitting a bill to Hartford, the money was held in escrow since we were contesting the bill. After 6 weeks of communication with Hartford, Service Master Corporate (not this franchise) chose to not take a site visit. Service Master of the Southside has threatened Hartford with putting us into collections then we received an email from an attorney stating Hartford had 3 days to pay the bill or a civil suit would happen. We have contacted each regulatory commission in the state of VA to help with this investigation into inadequate services and questionable billing. A wrecking ball in a china shop is the analogy that best fits the work done by Service Master of the Southside. There was no plan, no best-practices logic applied, and they actually made the property look worse and have more damage than the damage done by the water pipe that burst. The term predatory comes to mind when thinking about what happened and the less than honest subcontractors they brought to the property. In each instance it can be shown that either they were not certified or fraud was committed by the subcontractors, as proven by the contractors hired by the home owner to give a 2nd opinion. A line that will always remain fresh in the home owner’s mind and a direct quote of the Service Master of the Southside supervisor on-site (day 2): “The longer I stay the more money I make.” A complete report can be provided to anyone looking for a reference before using this company. My daugher is in the Navy and on deployment when there was a sewage back up in her Virginia Beach House. It was the best experience with a contractor during the whole mess. Sewage leak is smelly and if anything if left it smells the whole house up. They made sure everything was removed and sanitized. They brought equipment in but checked every other day to make sure it was working correctly and had completely dried the areas of the house that couldn't be removed. They did exactly what they said, showed up when they said, and finished a day early. I really appreciated them showing up on time whether it was for estimates, work, dropping off machines, checking machines or picking up machines, especially since I live an hour away and had to drive to meet people at the house.
Description of Work: They came in behind another company and completed a clean up job from a sewage leak. They had to cut out the wallboard that came in contact with the sewage. They removed the flooring in the bathroom and laundry room and cut out the damaged carpet. The vanity in the bathroom had to be removed but saved so the insurance adjuster could see it. They placed it outside and covered it so it would not be damaged from the weather which was over and above their job description. When they finished the floor was scraped down to the cement and spotlessly clean. The wallboard were cut in a straight line and the insulation removed. All debris was removed and taken with them.

Mr. Wiggins and his team (Mr. John Correll and Mr. James Smith) went over and above my expectations. Mr. Correll and Mr. Smith were courteous, professional, and meticulous in cleaning my mother?s home. I was amazed at their attention to every detail. Frankly, they did a spectacular job cleaning the dust, dirt, and grease of 30 years, and they did it in less than 5 days.
Description of Work: Last month, my mother broke her hip and arm and at that time, the family decided to clean up her home before she was discharged. What we found at that time was a house infested with rats and roaches, as well as nearly 30 years of general neglect throughout the house. House cleaning literally entailed ceiling to floor cleaning of Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room, Hall, Den, Master Bedroom, Master Bath, and 4 bedrooms. Kitchen cleaning included cabinets (inside and outside). All furniture in the house was cleaned and polished, all pictures were cleaned and polished, all lamps were cleaned and polished (including the shades), all windows were cleaned.
