Scott Lane's Tree Service

Description of Work: We called Scott Lane's Tree Service to have a large pine tree removed from our backyard. We were not home, but Mr. Lane was prompt and stopped by our house the day after we called to leave us an estimate. We chose Scott Lane's Tree service because it was the most affordable at $600. After we decided to go with his company, it took over 2 weeks to get a response on when our tree would be cut. All communication was through his employee, Stacey, via emails and phone calls. When his employees arrived to our home, no one personally introduced themselves. I opened my front door to find a bunch of men walking all over my front lawn and was simply told by a crew member that they were with Scott Lane's Tree Service. The foreman never introduced himself. During the service, one of the crew was injured and suffered a rope burn. The rope slipped while cutting the tree and caused the tree limb being cut hit to our fence. Another person took over the cutting, but our fence was hit yet again. Crew members were also found smoking cigarettes in my backyard. After the tree was cut, I was told that another person would stop by in an hour to remove the stump. No one showed up until 4 hours later. She apologized for being late and said she would be by early the next morning since it was too dark to remove the stump. She didn't arrive until the afternoon the next day. Mr. Lane offered to send someone to fix our fence, but we did not feel comfortable having their company do any more work on our property. We hired someone else to fix our fence, which cost $180. Scott Lane Tree Service deducted this from the initial cost of service, so we paid $420 for the service. This overall experience was very unsatisfactory and we would not recommend this company.

Description of Work: Took down 10 trees, topped off some others, ground stumps, hauled away the timber. |The crew started promptly, worked hard during a long day, and was courteous. The job was done in a day and a half. Overall, I think they did a fantastic job. I marked down a tad bit on the quality and professionalism for the following reasons: A few of the stumps weren't ground down as much as I would have liked, and two azalea bushes got crushed. I chalked it up to the condition of the yard, as it had rained quite a bit, therefore the yard wasn't as solid as it could have been. As for professionalism, a few of the crew smoked cigarettes, and not all of the butts were picked up. The tree climber, although he had a safety helmet, he did not wear it. Still, though, for the price, it was done and I am happy with the results. We recommended this provider to a few of our neighbors, and have noted that this service was used by them, as well. | | | | | |

Description of Work: Cut down three trees, trimmed back another and hauled away the cuttings.

Description of Work: Took out very large Pine tree and moved camper and landscape stuff in order to get equipment in. They then put everything back, removed the stump and took all the debris away in 5 hours.
