This service was amazing! This was after a crazy storm and most tree services in the area were swamped - and giving me the run around because my tree wasn't actually laying on top a house or car. My tree (30 FT of which was now in my neighbor's yard) was not a priority to other tree services. Scott Lane came to my house to estimate the job the same day I called them. He was respectful and friendly. The next day, Scott's service arrived at my house in the evening and I didn't believe they would have time to do the job before sunset. I was wrong. It was a sight to behold. Huge trucks, giant chipper machine, 6 or seven crew members, tractor with claw.... they were all moving back and forth like a whirlwind - some guys sawing, some hauling, some shipping, some running the machines - my 4 year old was soooo excited to watching it all happen. They cleared that tree, grind the stump, cleared and raked the branch/leaves debris, cut off the dangling broken branches from my neighbor's tree that got side swiped from my tree as it fell, and even picked up my neighbor's little bird house that was knocked over and put it back up on it's post. I kid you not - this all happened in LESS THAN 30 minute. It was unreal. Super impressed and would definitely use them again!!!

The crew was punctual, and professional. The pine tree was located in the back corner of the backyard making it difficult to remove without damaging the neighbors fences. Removal was done by hand without the use of a crane since they would not fit thru the backyard gate. The pine tree was removed a piece at a time and hand lowered by ropes. The crew cleaned up afterwards in the neighbors yards as well as mine. I was very impressed and very satisfied in the tree removal and would hire them again for tree removal. My grade of C is not to be reflected on the tree removal but on the stump grinding company, the stump grinding was subcontracted out to Tidewater Stump Grinding (can't find them on Angie's List). I don't have the name of the individual since he only spoke two words to me when he showed up the next day. He ground all stumps but didn't grind the one exposed surface root of the pine tree. When I handed him the check for his part of the fee, I didn't even get a thank you, have a good day or goodbye, he just turned his back on me and folded the check as he walked down the driveway to his vehicle. He was not very professional or friendly. Based on this experience, if I ever need a stump grinder, I would not call this company and it gets a big fat F in my rating. Also when I need a tree removed, I'll be sure to ask who is used for the stump grinding, if it is Tidewater Stump Grinding, I definitely will be looking elsewhere for a tree removal company. The mulch from the stump grinding were not removed as I had expected, but I failed to clarify that part of the estimate/contract, so with short notice, I had to hire another landscaping company (Tracy Austin Landscaping), to come and remove the mulch before the date the fence company was coming to remove the old fence and install a new fence. If you hire a tree removal company, be sure to clarify in the estimate if the stump grinding mulch will or will not be removed.

I do not think it could have gone any better. Hard-working crew; very professional knowledge and completion of tree service. Good clean-up.I would hire them again in a heart beat.

Mr. Lane came to our home to provide his expertise and proposal regarding our unique property. He as well as his crew were very prompt and professional. We were not permitted to grind the stumps so we have to come up with a landscape design that will work best for this situation.

Everything went well. Scott was on time, very professional, and gave me a competitive estimate. I just decided to go with another tree service.

The crew arrived at 7 am and worked straight through until the job was finished around 6 pm. The trees were hauled away, the stumps ground, and the yard raked. In addition, they ground a preexisting stump free of charge. They were hardworking and competent. Our neighbors were impressed and commented positively upon the completion of the job.

For years, I had thought about removing these trees for safety reasons. In spite of a miserable winter, Scott's team worked with me so I was at ease with moving on this project. The cost was very reasonable.

From the onset of contact, I was treated as if my business really did matter. I called to schedule an estimate and was offered the ability to have someone out that same afternoon. At that estimate, it was clear that Mr. Lane is a down to earth guy who is committed to being fair and doing a good job. I agreed to the service and signed the estimate then. My utilities were marked a few days later (they took care of that too) and the job was scheduled the for beginning of the following week. The crew was professional and on time. The total time onsite at my house was only about 6 hours. They needed no extra supervision, no corrections and did a wonderful job! I am so very pleased with the entire process. I have since been out in the yard doing cleanup of the old leaves and debris and see that the stump grinding is also top quality work and done well.I actually had a neighbor drive by when I was working in the yard and ask who did the removal and I was happy to recommend Mr. Lane's service.

First, let me say that the crew who did our work did a tremendous job. They came this morning at around 8:30 and were done before Noon. They took down all the trees, ground the stumps and roots and cleaned up. Kudos to the work crew. Now, communication with them is another story. We saw Scott Lane's Tree Services ad in the Angie's List magazine we receive monthly, and contacted his office on March 13. We were told Scott would come out to look at our property, so he could provide us with an estimate of the cost of the work. He arrived that afternoon and the following day we received an emailed proposal. We found this satisfactory and returned it to him, agreeing to have him do the work. They contacted Miss Utility to have the lines marked, and then we got a lot of rain. Our yard holds water so our first appointment was pushed back. Initially I called their office to question when they would be arriving and was told that they were trying to catch up on a backlog of work, and we would be scheduled as soon as possible. We were finally scheduled for April 18. On April 17 I contacted their office to inquire if the job would be done the next day as scheduled... I contacted them....and received an email that afternoon, stating that they felt the yard was too wet, and Scott would be out looking at yards on Monday (this was Friday). On Tuesday, the 22nd of April, I had heard nothing from them about a scheduled date, so I called their office and then followed with an email and received an email response saying that we were scheduled for Monday, April 28 and they would get to us on Saturday, the 26th, if they could. On Friday, I emailed again to find out if they were actually coming on Saturday or Monday, and was told they would be here Monday, the 28th. They actually did make this appointment. We were beginning to feel as if we kept getting pushed to the bottom of the work list, and feel that if we had not contacted them for information on when to expect them, they wouldn't have contacted us, just shown up to do the work. We also felt that if they had so much backlog that it would take over a month to get our job done, they should have informed us of that.

The crew came out and completed the job in one day and took great pains to ensure the yard sustained no damage (which was not easy given all the rain we have had this month). They did a great job at a great price. Get a quote from these guys before you go with another tree company.

We have had them out twice. The first time they came out and removed 9 trees and they trimmed some. I would use them again.

I changed my schedule to work with them and we rescheduled for Wed between 12 - 4, he would call on the way. At 2:30 I received another email, altho I didn't see it until 5 pm, that (amazingly) Mr. Lane had another emergency and they would like to reschedule again the following week. I believe that a company that has so many tree emergencies during a period when the weather has not been harsh, is not going to be very dependable in providing service and I am not going forward to engage his service. The three other high tree service companies I contacted, all responded well and were able to provide estimates.

Very well. Quote was competitive with others I had received. Did not have to wait very long for the service once I signed the contract. Was able to provide proof of insurance when asked. Would use again. I had received quotes a less, but they were not insured,

Although we had a rain and wind delay, the crew was efficient on time and did a complete job. I had a total of five large trees removed from my front and back yard.. They had great equipment and knowledge of the job that needed to be done. Very professional .

First was to call in advance to to schedule service - never done - the call came the day they showed up. I was not at home to see if they did what was requested. They left and never came back to resolve problems for stump and tree trimming branches.

I called them after the storm and they came within an hour. Many trees in my neighborhood had fallen and many could not get service for a week. They came with a bucket truck and about 4-5 men and were done in about two hours. They did a good job but due to where they had to put the truck in my yard I did have some yard damage. They cleaned up all the limbs and leaves and left no mess in the yard.

Removed the debris to the street, was picked up promptly. However I was left with vertical roots, large ruts and uneven landscaping over a large area . I ended up calling another landscaping company to come in with a backhoe and dirt to even out the area. Knew I would need dirt and mulch, but never expected to have such a mess left. Workers were in too big of a hurry, non professional.

Rain was a possibility that day so they showed up 2 hrs early. They waited while my husband dug up our azaleas that encircled the tree. They did a good job only one problem was when the tree fell it hit a crepe myrtle and smashed another azalea. They were very sorry about that and cut several additional branches at no extra charge. I liked that they were very reliable and prompt. I would recommend them to others.
