I purchased two $69 coupons for handyman services for this vendor off of Angie's List thinking that if they are on this site they must be reputable. The owner of the company came to my home at a prearranged date and time to do an inspection of the work to be completed and to prepare an estimate. Red flags should have gone up at that time for me as he just scribbled some notes on scratch paper, was going to give me $100 credit for my coupon purchase and kept telling me that he was giving me a great deal and what he recently charged other people for work he had completed. I never received a detailed written estimate thus I asked for a complete break down of everything that he and his crew did, labor and supply costs after the work had been completed. He was taken aback and wanted to know why I wanted it telling me again that he only charged me $100 to install my door when he just completed someone elses for $300. I have yet to receive my requested invoice. information. My initial appointment date was changed the night before the work was to commence siting set backs from Hurricane Sandy. I would have appreciated more notice as the storm had occurred two weeks prior. The morning that the rescheduled work was to start I had to call the company to ask them if they were coming and approx. what time to expect them. The owners wife who does all the scheduling is quite friendly. I was dissatisfied with the way my door was hung and the laborer became quite agitated. The owner tried to fix the problem with the door to my satisfaction. The laborer did not caulk around the wood work he replaced around the frame and did not touch up the paint that he chipped up on the molding. Another laborer broke a shingle on my house, they said that they would fix it if I found a spare piece which I did. They merely spray painted over the tar paper under the siding leaving it exposed to the elements.

Excellent work! Arrived as promised. Went right to work, left areas clean after work (Bathroom). Did his best to fix dryer vent -inside hook up - but I purchased the wrong kind of inside vent tubing, but he left it so that I could use the dryer.

................Ryan's repair service were good and they knew what they were doing and they gave me feedback and told me what they would do. They informed me about what was going on and they were professional and on time.

Mr. Ryan was supposed to meet me at 11am at the empty house we had on the market for an estimate on a few repairs. I waited half an hour, called and was told he had a flat tire and would be there soon. He never showed up and when I called the company my calls went straight to voicemail. I was never able to get a call answered and none of my voicemail messages were returned.

Appt set up with wife Annette who is very helpful and pleasant. Kevin showed up when he said he would and took samples of siding. He returned with two others to do all the work on scheduled date. If three people show up it is now 3 man hours per hour on location. All work was completed in a satisfactory manner. Kevin and crew are nice folks and did quality work. In fact, when they completed the work I scheduled two more visits for work to be done. Later had Kevin come back and build shelves in my garage and another time put in a new overhead light above our pantry and replace another kitchen light. a lot of work and paid him about 1100.00 for both visits/jobs (parts and labor). fair price for work completed. i plan on using Kevin Ryan more in the future.

I have used this company twice now, and I have mentioned them to numerous friends of mine. Mr. Ryan clearly has a different mindset than most handymen and contractors. He sees the job that needs to get done, does it, and does NOT try to rip you off in the process. Job is excellent, and his wife is a pleasure to speak to and work with. Only negative is I called them the week before services were performed and had to double back with another call.

As soon as Mr. Ryan arrived, he was extremely professional. He quickly assessed both problem areas and while his assistant cut away the ceiling tile below the bathroom, he proceeded to the sunroom and started smoothing out the tile that showed signs of cracking. He then went and retrieved his sealer paint and started painting over the stained area. When I went back inside to check on the assistant, I noticed he place a large amount of painters cloth down to protect the carpet and was cutting through the plaster. When he finished his cuts, he pulled the plaster away and cleared the space for Mr. Ryan to determine where the leak may be coming from. He found and advised the plaster was dry but had mold in it. He then showed me the damage and proceeded to locate what was causing the mold to form. He checked all the joints of the exposed piping from the bathroom and had me run water in the sink, shower and flush the toilet. While he found no actual leak, he did identify wet wood around the seal of the toilet and asked how long it had been since we had that seal replaced. I knew it had been well over 5 years and he determined from experience that normally that is when the seal needs to be replaced since the compounds in that type seal will breakdown within a 5 year period. He then cleaned up all the mess that was made by cutting the plaster and vacuumed the area thoroughly. His professionalism and knowledge was outstanding and with his expert assistance, he was able to lead me in the right direction to further fix this problem so it would not happen again. We were extremely thrilled that his knowledge kept us from having to spend more money to someone else to determine the same result. I assured Mr. Ryan that will call on his services when we have future projects that need a contractor. I was extremely impressed by Mr. Ryan and his assistant and would recommend his service to anyone.

Not a very high quality job. Cabinet is not level. Had to cut into drywall to fit in limited space. Mudding was not finished and when I started to smooth, found a very poor quality job.

Ryan's Repair Services came to my house and quoted me a price for an "Access Door" install for $200.00. I immediately agreed that it was a "fair price" and shook hands with the worker who showed up at my house and agreed to have the work done at that price. He then left and 10 minutes later he called me back and said; "oh, I just realized that I need to cut another hole in the wall behind the first Access Door and install a second Access Door. I'll have to charge you $350.00 to complete the work." I initially (reluctantly) agreed to this price, but, later called him back and canceled. I felt that the initial price, with a handshake, was what we agreed upon and that is what I expected to pay. When he called me back 10 minutes later and "jacked the price" up on me almost double the initial quote, I felt something was wrong. I knew at that point that it was VERY unprofessional for him to do that. I will NOT ever call this company again for ANY work nor do I recommend them to anyone.

I bought a big deal earlier in the fall for 4 hours of handyman service to install a vanity in my downstairs half bath. I scheduled the appointment two weeks in advance for 10 a.m. on a Monday morning. At 10:15, when no one had shown up, I called to see if they needed directions. I was told there had been a scheduling problem on the previous Friday and my appointment had to be rescheduled, but someone had forgotten to call me. Needless to say, I was not happy because I was expecting company the next morning. After some discussion, they said they would call me back. By two o'clock that afternoon, Kevin came to my house and only took 2 hours to install the vanity. He was professional and very easy to work with. I showed him other jobs that needed doing around my house and he gave me very fair pricing. I plan on using him again on these jobs. I own a small business, and am the first to admit that everything doesn't always run as smoothly as I would like. What makes the difference between a good company and a GREAT one is how you handle your mistakes. In my opinion, Ryan's Repairs stepped up and was willing to do whatever it took to correct the scheduling error and make sure I (the customer) was completely satisfied. I WILL use them again!

The job took less than an hour and they suggested a few other fixes that we should consider as well. They went out to ACE hardware to get the correct part too. The leak slowed but eventually came back. I think there is another issue though and their fix was good.

He came out right away. I had some problems with my garage door, and when he came out he couldn’t fix the problem. I told the woman in the office that he didn’t fix the problem, and she said it was because he didn’t know anything about garage doors. He used up some of those hours looking at that project when he could have been doing something else. I also explained that I had a faucet that was dripping. He couldn’t do that job either because I didn’t have the correct parts. If he would have told me that beforehand I could have gotten those parts and been prepared.

Ryan's Repair service came out within a few days of calling to give an estimate. It was a small job, but would require at least 2 separate visits. It was about 2 weeks until they came to do the work. They showed up on time and performed the work quickly.

Handyman services hired to paint my shutters and garage door.

They came out and gave me a quote. They did what they said they would do, which was okay. I needed my granite counter top lifted, I had to promise him if it cracked that I would not hold him responsive for the damage. It did end up cracking and he said that it was already cracked prior to him doing the work. He would not use the coupon for the services. He found another services to do at the house and he still would not honor the coupon for the services, so I was not able use the coupon.

I contacted around 8 of the highest rated service providers and asked for estimates. I received around a 75% response. 4 providers appeared interested but the estimates varied widely, up to an 80% difference! Ryans repair was not the lowest estimate but their responsiveness was the best. I requested several follow up estimates before finalizing the contract and they never complained. I believe they underestimated the amount of time required to complete the job but continued to perform well even though they were behind schedule. The quality of work was above average and they went out of their way to accomodate my needs. They recommended solutions and ideas during the repair that bettered the project. Again, if you are looking for someone who will actually show up, do the work correctly at a reasonable price, do good quality work, and return your phone calls, Ryans repair is the contractor for you.

We had some cabinets that we needed raised to fit our new washer and dryer underneath. Communication with Kevin Ryan and his office assistant (and spouse?) Annette were great throughout the transaction. We always got immediate responses to our emails/phone calls. On the morning of the job, Annette called to let us know what she was unable to reach Kevin but suspected he was delayed on the previous job. She then sent an email that he would be an hour late, but almost canceled the call when we did not immediately acknowledge the message. Fortunately Kevin got a hold of this before it happened and we were able to accommodate them starting an hour late. Once we got that sorted out, everything went great. Kevin brought an assistant and they did a great job of raising the cabinet without any problems. The end result looks as if the cabinet was installed at that height from the beginning. I asked them to also install two pedestals to our washer and dryer, which they cheerfully did. They even put the machines back in their proper place after the job was done. These guys are great for general handyman work. Kevin kept getting calls during his work from Annette to coordinate upcoming service calls, so it sounds like he's in pretty high demand. It's understandable given the quality of the work they did for us. Other than the glitch with showing up an hour late, everything else was great!

While working on my doors they left big black finger prints but did not clean it off. They did not clean after themselves well. I had to hire someone to later clean the doors for me. However, The work was fine.The also charged me extra because the project required two men but I did not know that prior.

They were great. Was a two man team and the manager called several times to keep in touch (bad weather so they had to switch some times if it was convenient for me). They were really nice and efficient. Knew their business and were polite and considerate to the need of an old house (plaster vs drywall, new hardwood floors that they covered before putting toolboxes on them etc.). I enjoyed having someone do the work for me and also enjoyed their company while they were working. Will definitely keep them on my permanent contact list for all future repairs.

We were not able to find a time for the coupon work estimate in advance, so we had to figure it out while he was here for the job. When I wasn't 100% pleased with the initial job, he made it right. He did give an estimate for the second job, and worked extra hard to get it right. He was very professional yet friendly and easy to work with.

The brick moulding that was replaced looks okay, but the splice job to "fix" the wood rot is terrible. The pieces of wood don't fit together properly, and nothing was caulked to prevent further water damage. In addition, Mr. Ryan broke the vinyl siding in 2 places adjacent to where this work was performed. When I pointed out the damage, he told me I could buy some caulk to fix it! I felt it would have been appropriate for Mr. Ryan to fix the damage, since he was the one who caused it. He then proceeded to tell me that the eaves of my house needed to be painted (which is accurate) and quoted me a price of $2500 to do the painting. When I questioned the cost as being rather high, he stated he could come down to $2000, but that would be as low as he could go. I have since received 2 bids from other Angie's List contractors to perform the exterior painting that came in at or below the $1400 range.

We thoguht he could fix our tile and grout. He said he was unable to do the work for the price of the deal. He wanted to charge us $450. I decided to get a refund.

Annette was very friendly and accomodating to our schedule when we tried to set up the appointment. We were hoping to have the work done before family came in to visit and despite a full schedule they worked to fit us in. The work in the bathroom was more extensive than Mr. Ryan had initially expected and an additional fee was charged. This is completely understandable but was more expensive than I had expected. Granted I was not home for the repair and absolutely authorized them to do what was necessary to get the job done. One thing that was a little disappointing was that I had asked to have the side panels of our front door painted white. He did a lovely job with most of it but there was one part that he left unpainted. He did discuss this with my husband and told him that the panels around the window would not absorb paint well. I do wish that he would try. The fan works well and the paint is beautiful.

I was pleased with the work and the efficiency with which the work was completed.Ryan's Repair Services arrived on time, prepared the work space and cleaned up thoroughly. Uniformly polite and considerate, I was impressed with the company and happy with both the work when it was in progress and the final results. I've already recommended them to several friends and will use them again.
