We contacted RS Andrews previously for estimates, this time we went ahead and had it done. Adam, our consultant, provided estimates on a couple of different options to suit our needs. They were able to schedule our install to meet our requirements. Crew showed up on time on a Thursday morning, got right to work, they laid down tarps to protect our floors, wore the booties in the house and were very attentive to respecting our property. Uninstalled the old system by noon, and started the install of the heater so we would not be without heat that evening. Even with a couple of unexpected issues with the electric supply for the emergency gas shutoff, they had the heater up and operating by 5:30 that evening...they did solve the electric problem before they left for the day. Day 2 was focused on hooking up the AC compressor and insulating all the system piping in the attic, they faced more electrical (220) supply issues, ended up running some new copper wire to replace the aluminum wire that was original equipment on the house. They brazed all the connections, evacuated the system, checked for leaks and insulated all the lines. Op-checked the entire system, went over operation with me, made sure I was satisfied with the install and their craftmanship. The only way you could tell someone had been working at the house was that a new system was in place. They were finished by 3:00 in the afternoon on day 2. The crew led by Mitch was very professional, courteous and friendly. Addressed all my concerns, cleaned up everything involved with the install. I am very pleased. Adam, our consultant, came by the next morning to inspect the job and make sure I was satisfied. I would definitely recommend R.S. Andrews to friends.
Description of Work: Had a new Trane HVAC system installed. They took out our old system and AC compressor, disposed of the old components, ran a new larger return duct, installed new gas furnace and AC compressor, pad, thermostat etc.

I was not even worth getting a call to inform me that the technition was not able to meet the appointed time.
Description of Work: Was scheduled to have Heating System repaired. Have had service performed before without issue. However this time they could not call me to let me know that the technition was running late and was told that the technition was at a minimum of an hour from arriving after the end of the service window and was told that it was because there were a lot of other calls recieved this morning. I am sorry my time is more valuable than to not be kept informed as to the status of a call especially if they are to be late.

IT started bad and it still is bad. Every tech that comes out finds things wrong that the last tech did not even know about. I think this must be a practice company. Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are polite , they just don't know what they are doing and have incompitent employees and they do not communicate back to the office what is wrong, so when the next tech goes out they are not blindsided. Worst mistake, I should have called RICKS HEATING
Description of Work: I had a new Trane Heat Pump middle drade split system installed in my home that I had purchased earlier that year. I also asked thet the ductwork be looked at and dampers were installed in the ductwork in the attic, which was explained to me that due to the home being a small two story if I added two programable t- states up and down along with the dampers this woul even out the flow problems that occur with two story homes. Note: I also have a 10 year warranty, I think I'll be using it alot. I would like to add the the OLD Janitrol unit that I was replacing was able to deliver both heat and AC to my room over the garage when it was working. My point being that air flow was NOT the problem with thr OLD Janitrol unit it was just not able to stay running during the cold months. So I was advised by my salesmen to add these dampers to control the flow to only where the temp is calling for. I aggreed and paid the additional money for whatever they suggested. Stating ALL the while I just want it done right, I am not looking for a cheap fix. Ok so now the Trane XL 15 I think is installed by a team who does not communicate with the sales team. He was not aware what we were doing with the dampers and it was a fact since the evening after they left I had no air flow upstairs. I called in a Technition comes out and decides something has not been installed properly and works on the dampers says something was burnt out fixed the indoor unit and it now works BUT I NOW HAVE NO AIR FLOW TO MY ROOM OVER THE GARAGE, which DID work with my old Janitrol. I had another tech out because my outdoor unit kept shutting off and the temp in the house would steadly climb. The NEW tech states that the OLD disconnect box at the outdoor unit is arking and request that this should have been replaced at the time of install since it was an original. Remember this is a $10.00 part yet they choose to use the old one. He informes me that someone would be calling me to set up a time for the disconnect box and the problem HE found in the attic. He stated that the trunk line and flex duct looked like a speedway with figure eights and needed to be straightened out since most of the air was being directed to my downstairs. I informed him again about the poor or no air flow in my bedroom and mostly the room over the garage and how it worked before R S Andrews did shuch a bad job with the install. He informed me he would speak to his install manager and they would be back to fix the problem. After waiting 4 days for a call back I decided to call the office and was informed that I would get a call back once they spoke to the last tech.. Again I had to continue to call into the office and force the service call. Finally today two men arrived and I do believe it was one of the original instatt team whe I did not have any confidence from the beginning. 4 houre later they added a supply line to a bathroom that did not have any vents. Good job there. However I knew something was not right after they left the AC upstairs would not work, no air flow and not change in temoerature. The t-stat remained at 81 when I always leave it set at 75 on a programable t-stat. I did call in at 5:21 to report the problen and recieved a callback around 8:12, tef tech stated he would be by tomorrow when the temps should be around 106. He also asked me what type of dampers did they use ( Honeywell) I stated I was not aware of the parts that were used in my install in the attic. I informed this nice young man that he could either fix it or I would call a real company who does not send laborers to do install work and have the unit fixed and the dampers removed. He states he would at least get them into a locked open posisition so I don't have to go through these problems every few months. it is now 2:17 AM in the morning and still no AC upstairs.

We've been very please with them. They are very honest and we had a situation where we had no A/C, our A/C went out and they actually gave us a loaner window unit. What we have had was really, really expensive and it cost us $12000. We have had such bad luck with 2 other companies where one company actually put a hole in our ceiling. We have had bad experiences with smaller things. We had to be without A/C for a month when it was 100 degrees in July so we really didn't take the time to price around. When R S Andrews came in and showed up at the door with the loaning unit, we just liked the way they went so we didn't really price around because we had already been burnt so badly by 2 other companies. We've got a maintenance contract with them and would continue to use them in the future.
Description of Work: We used them for some heating and A/C work. We used their service last in July of last year. They put in a whole new A/C unit.

They were very good. I had a number of different companies come out and give the quotes. The person who came out from R S Andrews was the most knowledgeable. They did an inspection and they were good at it. Both the installation and the inspection indicated to me that these people knew what they are doing.

GREAT COMPANY! GREAT EXPERIENCE! Called ER center night before to get on the dispatch call sheet in the morning. Office opens at 0800, at 0740 office called, told me to expect someone out between 0930-1030 (Called before official office hours...IMPRESSIVE!). At 0930 office called said tech was on the way. Tech arrived (Danny), got right to work, diagnosed the problem in minutes, had replacement part and quote ready, replaced the part, checked the freon (didn't need any...Thank you for the honesty!!!), completed the job and paperwork, and was out by 1021!!! Tech was friendly, professional and quick! GREAT JOB!

The salesman Chip was very professional and was a large part of why I went with R.S.. What was explained and provided as the process R.S. follows was not. Start time was scheduled between 8:30-9 and they showed up at 9:20, you ever get that feeling! Upon my greeting to them they asked where the system and breaker panel were and that was that, they never explained the process or provided any status throughout the 2 day installation and seemed bothered by any questions. They used one drop cloth and tracked insulation in and out all day. They did vacuum the at the end of the day. I realize the equipment is bulky and heavy but the beat the walls and attic access pretty good. The removed and reinstalled attic access was deformed and damaged which I noted on the job completion form. The 2nd day they showed up and just walked in my house unannounced. At no point during the installation was the system operation ever explained. Upon completion I was provided with manuals and read an installation checklist which I signed as I had Labor Day plans and it was late Friday afternoon. They also scheduled a city inspection at that time for the following Friday. The inspector showed up Thursday? We were able to reschedule for Friday and it FAILED! I had previously contacted R.S. to have someone come out that Friday and inspect the installation. The 2 techs spent 4 hours correcting the installation, attic access and failed inspection areas. We took a 4th day off from work for the following Friday reinspection which passed. Chip did a follow up call after the installation which I explained my displeasure. Nathan ,the GM contacted me after talking to Chip. This wasn't a disaster but had this been someone who was not willing to engage to get things right, it could have been.

They were very professional, courteous, honest, and I would recommend them to others. WE had another company come out to look at the system and they told us we needed more work than this company- the price was almost 1/2 from Andrews. The board that regulates the blower was out.

We purchased a York heater and AC during major construction of an addition to our house. We explained to the salesman that he had the option of installing the heater now and AC later or coming 2 weeks later to install both at same time. 2-3 days later, the installer (Trey) showed up with BOTH heater and AC to install (he had to take the AC compressor unit back). Trey was not prepared for the installation. He needed to call for delivery of parts multiple times during installation of the heater, taking more than 2 days (during a cold snap -- they did provide portable heaters). Trey made his assistant do most of the work. He always seemed to have an excuse for why the heater installation wasn't done yet. He would often sit in his truck listening to music, then leave the truck with the radio playing loud, annoying the neighbors. During the installation Trey wanted to use our bricks to raise the heater above the condensation pan (we said no; he used his own bricks). He used our construction dumpster even though he was told not to. Finally on Friday evening Trey said he was done with the installation of the heater, but the heater was broken and we should call a service person to come out on Saturday and fix it -- he then had the nerve to ask me for the rest of the money due when installation was complete even though the AC wasn't installed yet (we didn't give it to him). Trey said he had cleared the service call with the service supervisor and everything was set; when I called the service supervisor, he knew nothing about the required service, but was kind enough to make sure a service rep was at the house first thing Saturday morning. The heater subsequently broke down twice after that, requiring service. Two weeks later Trey and his assistant came out to install the air conditioner. That went much smoother than the heater -- initially. A few weeks later the AC stopped working; it had run out of freon because Trey did not do a pressure check of the old line (there was a slow leak that the service rep found and fixed). We usually run the fan constantly to equalize the first and second floor temperatures (we don't have zone heat/AC). After the heater was installed, I noticed that the fan seemed pretty loud and forceful, and when the heater (and later AC) went on, the fan actually slowed down. I asked Trey if the fan speed could be changed: he said no, that it was the optimal fan speed set at the factory. After Trey left, I read the installation manual for the heater, found the jumpers that adjust the fan speed (it had 3 settings), opened up the heater myself and adjusted the fan speed. Overall we were very disappointed. R.S. Andrews seemed to have a good reputation from Angie's List. At this point we feel that we wasted a lot of money on inferior equipment and very inferior installation. Given heater/AC installation is the most important predictor of future problems, we are looking forward to years of service calls.

They were persistant but they weren't wonderful. They were determined and willing to cooperate but it took them much much longer to complete the process than expected. They ultimately did a good job and we're satisfied with the results.

Called them twice and fully described my issue; got transferred to a different person each time (and re-described it; a total of 4 times I described the situation), and both times told a manager would call me back. Neither time did anyone call back!

THIS PERSON DID CONTACT US AND OUR SERVICE MANAGER FIRST TALKED TO HIM AND THEN OUR INSTALLATION MANAGER DID CALL HIM BACK AND TOLD HIM DUE TO THE NATURE OF HIS REPAIR (BROKEN DUCT IN A CONCRETE SLAB) THAT WE WERE UNABLE TO HELP HIM. THIS PERSON WAS DEMANDING THAT WE COME OUT THAT DAY AND REPAIR HIS DUCT. WE HAD NEVER DONE WORK FOR HIM BEFORE AND TOLD HIM WE UNFORTUNATELY COULDN'T HELP HIM WITH THIS PARTICULAR NEED. I think that they were very punctual. I remember that the service technician was very professional. I recall that they fixed the a/c unit and only charged me for the service call. When I set up the appointment the receptionist was very nice and helpful. I had a great experience with this company and would recommend others use this service as well.

Installation of the heat pump and AC unit went fairly smooth, but the register installation was an uphill battle. We were sold registers with adjustable vents to control air flow direction, but non-adjustable registers were installed. Ordering the proper type of registers and the correct number of registers took about a half dozen phone calls, including an additional home visit and several orders on their part. The first registers were the wrong type installed in all the ceiling vents. One complaint is that the installers used our elliptical machine as a step and neglected to cover it properly for dust protection; however other rooms were covered pretty decently. It took more than a month to get the right registers and the correct number of them. Another complaint is that they assumed that all old parts could just be thrown out--I had intended to give the old thermostat (which was actually quite new and not cheap) to a friend. On the plus side, they were very good about calling us if the workers had to cancel/late and when stuff arrived at their warehouse. The installation of the second round of registers went very well and they did a good job cleaning up afterwards. So far, the system has been running very smoothly. The process was a little frustrating, but in the end, we were happy. Lastly, to make up for all the delays, they honored a coupon that was not originally part of the contract.

The sales rep. gave me a better price on the same unit than the company with which I had a maintenance contract. I thought they were supposed to give me a discount, because I was a customer. I was also given the option of a UV light on the unit or a warranty. The other company did not tell me about the UV light. It was difficult getting the unit to fit in my attic and I understand they had to build some pieces to get everything connected correctly. It took 2 men 2 full days of hard work to get it installed, but I am happy with the result. Because rooms in my house had an uneven temperature, the sales rep recommended a diverter, to direct air to the rooms where it was needed. This has evened out the heat temperature.

I needed to have a maintenance plan and chose RS Andrews because of their reputation on Angie's list. The worker arrived earlier than expected (fine by me!). He found some leaking upstairs near my furnace and figured out it was due to a clogged main line drain pipe. We have had many problems with our control board going out and this was the cause of the problem. This was the only company that actually found the root of the problem. He was very professional and made sure to explain everything to me that he was doing. I was very happy with the work.
Description of Work: Annual maintenance plan.

I called them in the morning and they were out that afternoon. The women on the phone was pleasant, and the installer was nice as well. It was pretty hot outside and it was a Monday besides, so I was impressed that I was able to get somebody that same day. The installer answered my questions and I'm glad I went with them and had the reviews there to compare with. It made my experience much better. I was a member before and dropped it, but I renewed because we bought a house and the was nobody I could find that I didn't trust.
Description of Work: They replaced the capacitor on the air conditioning unit. The capacitor was blown and wasn't working and we needed it replaced.

I was impressed with the comments that I read on Angie's List. They were able to come to my house the next day to look at the unit. They ordered the part and were able to install the new motor the next day. I signed up for an annual service agreement with them.
Description of Work: I had them replace a fan motor for my air conditioning unit.
