Description of Work: They changed out the two A/C units for the house. They were mid-range priced, showed complete understanding of the process, and involved me in the understanding of what the choices would be.

Description of Work: I hired them to fix a leak in the condenser unit. I wish they could have had more integrity; they tried to sell me an entirely new unit for $5,000-$6,000 when I had another company fix the leak for $100.

Description of Work: Firm installed dual air conditioning systems in our house which had no previous service. Had used window units in the past. Have had a coil fail twice in the past year which was handled under warranty efficiently and quickly. Original installation was a bit awkward as it seemed to involve "newer" limited skilled employees. Since then, the units have functioned as intended with the exception noted above. Recent service performed went well and the technicians appear fully trained and well qualified to handle problems.

Description of Work: RS Andrews installed our HVAC system to our great satisfaction in 2005 and we have had a yearly maintenance agreement with them since then. We just received our renewal notice for $240 to make 1 AC tuneup and 1 heating tuneup and this will be our first year not renewing. (We just bought the Angie's List deal for a $69 21-point furnace tune-up by another company instead.) The quality of work and customer service has become poor in recent years. We had the plan so that it would be worryfree from our end. Last spring I realized they hadn't called to schedule our tune-up so when I called them I was told that they were short of help and my appointment was scheduled over a month later. My AC tune-up was finally done in mid-July but I feel it should be done much earlier in Spring. Also, they used to notify me when it was due. I don't want to have to remember such issues if I have a contract; I want worry-free convenience. I don't know that they would ever have contacted me if I hadn't called them. If I am paying for the service it should be performed in a timely, professional manner. Other little things included them leaving a small clear plastic pipe with black mildew following a visit.

Description of Work: The consultant and air conditioner and heating techs were prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to make things right and easy for me. It was a very pleasant experience

Description of Work: RS Andrews installed our brand new system 12 years ago. They had the best estimate and did quality work. The equipment they recommended, American Standard, has been substandard. We spend between $200 and $600 per year to keep the equipment operational. I would never purchase American Standard again. We are questioning whether to replace the cooling units, even though we were assured they would last 20 years or more. This year, the smaller 1.5 ton unit was not cooling. RS Andrews came out and "charged" the system with coolant. The service call and the coolant cost nearly $300. They added dye to the system and recommended coming back in two weeks to identify the leak. They came back two weeks later to check for a leak. They could not find a leak, and charged us over $150 for the visit. We paid it. Within 2 hours after the technician left, (after checking for the leak), the same unit would not cool. We called them back, and they wanted to charge us another $150 for a service call, even though the technician CLEARLY did something to the unit to cause it to malfunction. RS Andrews refused to recognize that the technician caused the malfunction, even though it was working well up until he came back to search for a leak. We argued that the technician caused the problem, and we are disputing two service calls within two hours. We will not be using RS Andrews for anything in the future. They have deteriorated from a reputable, reliable company, into the above. The unit still does not cool efficiently. We are using a Angie's List recommended company instead of RS Andrews.

Description of Work: R S Andrews Heating & Cooling replaced our entire ventilation system. Both the air conditioner and the furnace were replaced. They also did some minor air duct repair.
