It's hard to find a roofing company that balances skill, professionalism, and pricing well. I can't think of a company that does it better than JMontes Inc. Jon genuinely cares for his customers and it show through the entire process. He's attentive, fast, and VERY reasonably priced. I highly recommend his services and am confident you will feel the same way that I do!

One of, if not the most pleasant experience dealing with the home repair trade. 5 guys completed job in 1 full day. Hassle free professionals. Showed up as scheduled, answered questions directly, thoroughly cleaned gutters, downspouts, and around the yard at the end. Lowest of 4 estimates and substantially less than the highest. I sometimes hesitate going for the lowest number in something I'm not thoroughly familiar with for fear I will get what I paid for. In this case it was a home run. Line item by line item Jon covered everything his competition did and topped it off with one of the best installation warranties. Jon was by several times to check, but I felt very comfortable dealing with his on-site supervisor. No reason to call anyone else if I have anymore roofing needs. Jon deserves to be one of the chosen contractors to be featured the next time Angies magazine does a story on roofing.

It went so well that I can hardly believe it. The men picked up every bit of the old tar paper and shingles and had done the new roof in one day. I have a small house so I cannot say how fast they are on bigger roofs. They laid some king of tarp stuff on my flower beds and some hosta looked a little bit bedraggled, but that is why we waited for late fall to do the job. The price was in line with other estimates. My son found JMontes on your list. It was nice to be free of other companies calling and coming by to bug me.

Jon came out to my home in 30 minutes. He was incredibly efficient. While he said my roof was worn and there were some exposed and rusty nails, that it still had a few years left. He caulked a few gaps in the shingles for free while here.

I can't say enough good things about this roofing company. I have a house that's 18 years old that was in need of a new roof. After getting estimates from five other roofing contractors and reading the reviews from other customers, I decided to go with J. Montes because of their attentiveness, responsiveness, and quality of work. They did not have the lower price, but the quality and service made up for it. Mr. Montes took the time to answer any questions I had in regards to what was going to be done, recommended the type of shingles, etc. We were in constant contact, where he would call and let me know ahead of time when the materials were going to be dropped off and when the crew would start working. The crew started first thing Saturday morning at 7:30 and were able to finish around 6 that same day. They worked hard and very efficiently. The house looks great now with the new architectural shingles.

As noted above, Jon removed the original roof in our home and replaced with architecture shingles. He upgraded 5 new skylights and wrapped our soffit/fascia (approx. 4300 sq.ft home). It was a big job, which he did efficiently and flawlessly. His crew was always on time, thorough, and there clean up was perfect (down to the last screw). Jon was always accessible to address our questions and extremely flexible with his schedule (a few times he met with us late in the evening). We had interviewed three (3) other companies and decided to move forward with Jon - glad we did!!!

Mr. Montes was very professional and punctual. He met me at my rental property on the weekend for an estimate. The property is an adjoining 4 story duplex near the water. We could clearly see much rain damage inside the house through drywall tape pealing and stains on ceiling. I felt, J. Montes gave me a fair estimate and gave him the green light to perform the work. He communicated through texting (which I liked) and was on time with his schedule. The crew came in on a Tuesday and ripped off the old roof, replaced some water damaged plywood and started the new roof. On Wednesday, the crew finished the shingling and installed 4 skylights. They were able to do this project from start to finish in 2 days (Approx. 1400 sq. ft.) The break down was 4895.00- New roof with 10 yr. labor warranty, 1060.00 for the skylights, and 1035.00 for 3 new windows for the fourth floor, these were done a few days later. Overall, I was very pleased with Montes Roofing Systems because I was never left in the dark at any process. There was always someone there to answer questions and if I wasn't around, they took pictures to give me visual aids. I would definitely hire them in the future!

This was a low pitch roof where shingles would not be appropriate. The roof system has 1" insulating polyISO boarding laid down first and the sound of the rain last night was quite a bit quieter than usual. Also, no leaks from rain on night one with new roof. Jon's crew did a great job and a thorough clean up including rolling a magnetic wheeled device under all bushes and through all the grass to ensure no surprises later. His crew showed up about 10 minutes before the agreed on time and were all on the roof and working by the time he said to expect them. They did the entire job in under two days, but they were up on the roof for all daylight hours on day one, so that was probably 12 hours. I've worked on the roof myself, so I know that was a lot harder than 12 hours of almost any other type of work. Day two same deal, but they were finished by 3pm. I went up after they were finished and walked through the job with Jon and it was first rate. All the welds and seams and wrapping of corners looked just like all the installation videos I had watched from the various TPO manufacturers instructional videos. I have some inside work to do as the ceilings were damaged while I got the money together for the roof, but we are back on the path to having our dream home back. Jon Montes is a man of his word and he has earned my respect. I recommend his company with no reservations.

Jon and his crew were awesome. It took them two days to remove my existing roof, and install a new, beautiful roof. His crew was very courteous, timely, and looked out after all of our plants, gardens, furniture, etc., and did a really thorough cleanup job. Extremely happy with this company, and would highly recommend them.

The roof/skylight installation went off without a hitch after I had to show Mr. Montes' crew which roof they were working on. The house is a duplex and I don't think the workmen were fluent in English. The gutter repair did not work the first or the second time. There was a problem with the appointments - I ended up waiting 3 days for the gutter to be repaired. However, in Mr. Montes' defense, he came personally and repaired the gutter properly. I liked him and think he is eager to please and will try his best to please his customers.

Jon was outstanding in all aspects of his work. He was on time as he promised and called me prior to his arrival. He inspected not only the offending vent pipe but the rest the roof for cracks or possible source of leaks. After fixing the offending vent pipe, he placed sealant on the rest of the vent pipes and other shingles that can possibly cause future leaks. He also, cleared my roof of nails and debris that were left by the builders. These nails and debris can cause deterioration of the shingles and pose as hazards to any roof worker. As far as I am concerned, this gentleman was superb. He went above and beyond my expectations. He was very courteous and professional. I would gladly recommend him to my relatives and friends..

Jon and his crew met all time wickets, finished on time. Used tarps to control the inevitable mess from tearing off old shingles and some boards. Also removed old chimney that we no longer needed. Cleaned up very well. Stayed in touch through the process. All went smoothly and successfully. He has checked back on results. We would absolutely use him again!

He only went on the garage roof and did not go onto the main roof as he indicated that would cost more. I had wanted him to check the flashing/calking around the chimney, etc. He sent a crew out and they recalked around the chimney and checked the flashing. He was very professional, accommodating, timely and very nice and I would recommend his services.

The roof experience went very well. Mr Montes's estimate was the 4th one I received, and was by far the best. The first estimate I received was ludicrous, "Paramount Builder's", (not even in the ball park). Jon (Mr Montes), came by the house on friday morning and we went over the details of what was to be performed, ie architectural style shingles, heavy guage roof paper, installation of a ridge vent, number of nails per shingle, color, and other details. Jon asked if he could perform the work the next day, and I was only too happy to oblige as I was worried about roof leaks when it rained. The shingles were delivered and staged on the roof friday afternoon, and a dumpster placed in the driveway for the old roof. The agreed upon time to start sat morning was 7AM, the crew actually started arriving about 6:30AM. By noontime, the roof was basically done except for cleanup. His crew swept the yard several times with a nail retriever to make sure nothing was left behind. The foreman introduced himself as the work was nearing completion(I hadn't been home that morning), and made sure I was happy with the work. Jon also dropped by later that day to make sure I was satisfied and to give me my warranty. The roof looks great, and I'm no longer worried about the rain. I would definitley use the company again.

He came and did the inspection and left. He never called prior to coming over to our home. He was being very proactive I really wanted to be there. He lost a little bit of the job and stated that he needed to do caulking and things. I felt like he was so anxious to do the work; he didn’t give us a chance to be there. It didn’t sit well with me.

Mr. Montes was on time and did an excellent job.

I got them on Angie's List. They were excellent. None of their staff spoke English. They did it in one day and cleaned up nicely.

They were professional and knowledgeable. They performed some minor repairs and sealing of nails. We were happy with the outcome.

I emailed Jon and ask if he could give me an estimate on a new roof. He came out and left me an estimate and gave me time to review it. The estimate was very detailed and he gave me the option of two brands of shingles. After looking over the estimate I called Jon with a few questions and he took the time to answer my concerns and I told him I was waiting for a few more estimates and I would get back to him in a few days. After receiving the other estimates I decided to go with Jon's company because he gave the best price and options. I emailed Jon and told him I decided to go with him and told him the color of shingle I would like. Three days later Jon's crew showed up and began the work. The crew worked very well together and were very professional. After they were done they cleaned everything up and left everything just as it was before they came. The roof looks great! The whole job went very smooth and I am very pleased with the whole experience. Jon is very professional and returns emails and phone calls promptly. I would recommend Jon and his company to anyone looking to have roof work done. Very pleased with my new roof and the price was great. I interviewed four roofing companies for a much needed roof replacement on my townhouse in Norfolk. I selected J. Montes based on his price and experience with other roofs in my neighborhood. The pricing structure was clear and Jon, the company's owner, was easy to work with. He was very patient with my neighborhood's architectural review committee (who would get a solid F if they were on Angie's list), and was willing to work around the weather to get my roof installed as soon I received approval from the HOA. His crew worked very hard in extremely hot weather, and the roof was installed in one full working day plus a few hours the following day for clean up and touch ups. I should make a special mention of the clean up. His crew left approximately two post it note sized shingle pieces on my back patio. That's it. The roofing company who did my neighbor's townhouse left more debris in my yard then these guys who were actually working on my roof. His prices were competitive with other roofing companies, but the quality of work seems very good. Time will tell if any leaks develop, but so far every thing looks good. The only thing to keep in mind when dealing with this company is that they are roofers, not contractors. If you need painting, siding, or other work done, you will have to use someone else. However, given my experience with other contractors, and my good experience with J Montes, I would rather deal with those guys directly, select the one I thought was the best for my needs, and have Jon do my roof.

I had asked about 6 companies to give me a bid on putting a new roof on my dads house. Jon was the only one who actually went up on the roof during his inspection. Jon and his team showed up less than a week later, they got there at 7 am and were done and all cleaned up by 3 pm. The work is high quality as is the service. I would highly reccommend Jon and his team for anyone. I would not hesitate to call him again for another project. He had a ton of great reviews here on Angies List and after seeing his work, I can tell why.
