Jon and his crew are very professional and did a great job. The entire job was done in one day. The roofing crew paid great attention to detail and were all very hard workers. We got 8 quotes for the original job and finally chose Montes. We are very glad that we did.

We had a few other companies come out to give us an estimate on replacing the roof on our 1400 sq ft home in the Spring and above the others, Mr. Montes' estimate stuck with us the best. The fact that he was very responsive, professional and friendly was helpful in making our decision. We finally decided to schedule with them in the fall. We had originally scheduled the work to be done during the third week of October, but they had a cancellation, so Mr. Montes called me on the 8th and said they could be there the very next day around 7am...and, sure enough, his guys pulled up to our house at 6:58am...very prompt! They completed the work before 1:00 in the afternoon that day and completely cleaned up after themselves, leaving no trace that they were ever there, only leaving a beautiful new roof! We were very pleased, and as a result, one of our neighbors asked for our opinion because they were considering using them too! I would definitely refer their company to anyone who asks. :0)

Jon and his crew did an outstanding job. They showed up as scheduled, performed the job professionally, and did a spectacular clean-up afterwards. Jon Montes was on time and very professional. He measured and inspected the roof and provided a estimate for replacement. The estimate was in-line with 2 other estimates. We chose to use another company for the project. This was a very difficult decision as all 3 estimates were very close and the products very similar. My wife and I felt that we would not go wrong choosing any one of the 3 companies. The decision came down to some very minor details in the estimates. I do recommend that Jon Montes be included in your process of obtaining estimates.

It went great!!!! Mr Montes and his whole team were wonderful to work with. My initial contact for a quote was answered quickly and financing was easily made available. Jon Montes and his team of workers did an amazing job on our roof. We got a new architectural roof about 18 years ago, and problems began soon after and have continued with falling shingles due to improper workmanship, many repairs and various roofers and contractors, with poor or non-existent warranty service, and the roof was in disrepair most of the time, and leaks eventually developed. We decided to get the entire roof replaced and did extensive research this time around to hopefully put an end to the "please don't make me re-live that" problems. We met with numerous contractors and compared proposals on many factors including adequate ventilation recommendation, quality of products and installation methods to be used, workmanship/labor warranty of the contractor, reputation and credentials including Angie's List, BBB, licensing by Virginia DPOR, and liability and worker's comp insurance coverage verification, price, etc. We are grateful that Jon continued to respond to our many questions and concerns and did not treat them as unimportant or overly cautious as did some. One contractor we interviewed would not agree to our request to follow manufacturer's instructions to use roofing cement on the mansard shingles, saying it was not needed, even though we said we would pay what was necessary to do it in accordance with mfr. instructions! Due to Jon's positive attitude, helpful advice, lengthy workmanship warranty, patience in answering every question and concern, reputation and credentials, and very competitive price, we were finally able to have confidence in selecting J Montes to do the work. During and after the job, we knew we had made a good decision. The crew worked together like clockwork, in a professional manner, and did a wonderful clean-up job and the roof looks awesome. The foreman in charge was on-site the entire job and personally handled the re-build of the curved window overhang section after it was discovered during the job that it would be necessary. Jon came by after the job to see the results and make sure we were satisfied with the work. We certainly received more than we hoped for, and highly recommend this company to anyone needing roof work.

Excellent service from start to finish. Very painless process from the initial meeting at the home with a quote provided right there on the spot that did not change. They tarped my roof that had a leak before the actual work got started which was a big plus. The crew showed up on time and finished a 31 square roof in about 9 hours. They also replaced a few sheets of damaged wood. No mess left behind! Very impressed with their efficiency and quality of workmanship. Will use them again!

After receiving multiple bids for my roof replacement, my wife and I felt the estimates were too costly. We continued to search and found J Montes on a home improvement referral site. J Montes was 10th and last bid for roof replacement. On our first meeting, Jon is very professional and courteous without pressuring me to sign the contract. The bid was very competitive. Of note, Jon was one three contractors who said we need a cricket. This is a small roof addition to prevent water running into our chimney. We requested several references to evaluate his company. I drove past these homes and roofs looked great! I was able to speak with several home owners and all had the great praises for his company. When reviewing the contract I requested several statements modifying the contract. Building from past experiences, if it is not in the contract; it may not get done. Jon fully understood my approach and had zero problems with the statements. When selecting the color and style of shingle, Jon gave his opinion and several choices. We kept the samples for a few days and finally decided our choice of shingle. We requested an upgrade due to the modest cost giving us a thicker shingle and five more years of antifungal look. The day before installation we were told the crew would arrive after they finished their current job. I had no problem with this request. The materials arrived before the crew. When the crew did arrived they quickly went on the roof to prepare for material placement. Because of this, they did not put protective covers around the property. After a short period the work was stopped and the crew picked up all of the debris. When the property was then protected and the roofing continued. At the end of the first day, the crew meticulously cleaned the property. At 0700 the next day, the crew started protecting our property before starting on the roof. By lunch time our roof was completed. It looks GREAT!!! All of the debris picked up. I was very impressed on the team work of the roofing crew. They hustle with very efficient movements. During the job a trailer was parked in my driveway to collect all of the roofing trash. When the driver came to collect the trailer he pulled the trailer forward a few feet, got out and looked around and collected nails, roofing scraps, paper that did not make it in the trailer. Without one moment of hesitation, I recommend J Montes!

Mr Montes (owner) arrived Monday at about noon. He was very courteous and listened attentively to my concerns. He then went straight to work pulling a ladder from his truck and climbing up on the garage roof with necessary equipment in hand. After inspecting the area he very meticulously applied a black sealant to the top of the chimney flashing.. then he plugged the collar hole. This he verified with a photo. Nicely done. Mr Montes moved about quickly and with the skill of an artist who knows his craft. A pleasure to observe. It was determined the repair be monitored. Once on the ground the contractor again directed my attention to missing grout within the chimney and to a cracked cap. He suggested I have the brick work inspected as he does not do this work. Very satisfied.

Jon was one of 10 contractors that we got estimate from (all Angie's List award winners), and he was not the cheapest. I genuinely appreciated his straight to the point, no hassle, style and the detailed estimate that he gave us. We knew exactly what we were getting, when we were getting it, and how long it would take. After he was chosen, Jon also kept in contact with me- answering every question I could possibly come up with and even after the job was done, still kept contact to ensure that we were satisfied with the job he had done. We would HIGHLY recommend Jon and his company to anyone looking for work to be done on their roof!

First let me say that Jon Montes will follow through. He came out and gave us an estimate with no hassle and let us know that when we were ready for the new roof, to just let him know. When we were ready, we called Jon and he came by again so that I could make a selection on the color of the shingles. We scheduled the date when they could do our roof. He has been in touch with us every step of the way. He follows through and that is really impressive and a good way to run a business; very professional. Everything went like precision clockwork. The crew was here at 6:30 am and started work immediately; taking off the old shingles and tar paper (the dumpster was delivered the prior evening). They covered everything in my flower bed so that my flowers wouldn't get damaged from the debris, which I was very thankful for! This crew worked from 6:30 am steady and only took a few minutes for lunch. They continued to work hard until the job was completed, which included all of the cleaning up and the hauling away of the debris as well. Each one of the crew was very professional, curtious and pleasent to work with. I would recommend them to my family and friends (and have already)! Thanks to Jon and his crew, we now have a beautiful, high quality and professionally installed new roof at a very reasonable price!

Jon had a nice presentation for the estimate, providing pamphlets and samples. His estimate was the middle of the three I acquired. After an additional phone call answering my questions I decided to hire his company. He called to set up the date and we had to reschedule due to weather. His crew arrived very early on a Saturday. They moved my deck furniture and laid out tarps to minimize debris and commenced removing the old roof. They were very careful to remove the old shingles straight to the provided dumpster instead of letting them slide off the edge. A site supervisor was there to answer any questions or concerns. The crew worked well together and obviously had a routine where everyone knew what to do and what was next. Appeared very professional. The only glitch came when installing the Roof Vent System. I pointed out to the supervisor that the provided system did not have any filter material as was specified in the estimate. They purchased the correct material and had it on-site without any delay in completion. They completed the roof, did continuous clean-up throughout the day, cleaned the gutters of any debris, ran magnets around the house, including the deck, yard, flower beds and driveway. (I found 1 nail the next day stuck in a corner of my deck. Nothing is 100%). I paid the exact amount of the estimate. Although it was a Saturday, they arranged to have the dumpster removed so I could access my garage. Overall, Very Happy!

I obtained three estimates to have my roof replaced; Jon's estimate was the lowest cost with the best reviews. He was not pushy at all like the other roofing companies I obtained estimates from. Never an issue with communication and always showed up on time. He even squeezed my roof replacement in earlier because I had an active leak. I have nothing but praise for Jon Montes and his crew. Even if I had found I a lower estimate I would still have gone with Jon Montes because he was so polite and did not try to pressure me at all.

It was a great job. The work crew arrived at 7:00 AM on the morning they were scheduled to start. They were there the second day same time. The complete installation of new roofing only took a day and half. They did amazing job with great clean up. You could not even tell they had been there other then the great looking new roof.

I got three estimates and chose J Montes Inc as they were the low bidder for the same recommended work as the other two. And they offered a guarantee that the leak would be fixed or they would come back and fix it. The other two stated that they would not guarantee repair work. They were timely in returning phone calls and preforming the repair work and completed the work in one visit. The repair was at a place that has been previously worked on at least 10 times by others and the leak would always return. Since J. Montes repair we have had a significant slow melt snow and heavy rain (when it leaked in the past) without any visible leaks. They even came by after one heavy rain to check if there were any leaks. Very pleased with all aspects of the job and will certainly give them the opportunity to bid on any future roofing work.

I contacted Jon after another contractor took money for these repairs and never showed up. Jon came out on Thursday 3/13 to make and estimate, then told me he thought he could get a crew to our home the next day. He called me early on 3/14 and emailed me to tell me he could get a crew out. I got home for lunch and they were almost done. The price went up a little, but that was due to more damage done on the roof they they were unsure of, but it was also $100 under what the other contractor gave us as an estimate and it was done fantastic. The crew was professional and polite. Cleaned up all the material scraps and did an excellent job. For roofing in this area I would 100% recommend Jon. He had great prices, great work, great service. He also followed up to thank us for allowing him to do the work. Great service all around.

My new roof and skylights look fantastic. From day one when I met Jon Montes at my residence, he was professional and courteous. He guarantees his work, which is very reassuring. On a warm February weekend, the crew of about 6 plus a supervisor removed my old roof and installed a new architectural shingle roof. I chose CertainTeed architectural shingles on Jon's recommendation, and after research on Consumer's Report as a best value. The work went very smooth, everyone was extremely professional, and the results are excellent. We had seven replacement skylights installed. We are very happy with the installation of the replacement skylights. As far as pricing, Jon Montes offered the most competitive pricing. He beat the other two competitors on both materials and labor. I was also impressed with the guarantee on materials and labor. Jon followed up with me after the install on several occasions to ensure that I am happy with the installation. The answer is a resounding yes and that I am extremely satisfied with the new roof and replacement skylights.

3 roofing companies submitted bids on my roof replacement. Roofing Systems of Hampton Roads (RSHR) submitted the middle bid. I chose them because the owner, Jon Montes, was very thorough in his description of the work his people would. In addition, RSHR had recently replaced the roof across the street. I was impressed how professionally the job was worked. My 2400 square foot roof was completed in a day and a half. Looking at my yard, you couldn't tell that a roofing company had been there recently. In short, Jon did everything he said he would. I recommend this company.
