Work went very well. Only downside was work was done in the rainy season and concrete truck got stuck in the side yard. I should have had a wider driveway installed. 14 feet was not quite wide enough for a 2 car wide driveway.

Roy and his crew added a 24? X 30? addition to a detached garage. Therefore he needed to tie the new roof perpendicularly into the old roof. The extra charge for that was reasonable as was the extra charge for a three-window dormer (12 foot) on the 12-12 pitch roof. Roy was generally prompt and the process moved along well, even though rain affected his ability to work. Additional cost was added because the footers had to be dug deeper due to Chesapeake City not approving the initial dig--again, probably because of all the rain. Deeper footers may not have been an issue had the season not been so rainy. This is in no way a negative toward Roy?s work, just a heads up that footer costs can change. One thing I don?t care for with Roy?s garages is that no aprons are included with garage or personnel doors. He is very clear about this though so any extra will require working a deal with his concrete sub or hiring someone else. In our case, the apron across the garage door ended up quite expensive because of drainage that had to be built to accommodate the grade. Again, this is not a negative, just a something to think about. We hired a different contractor to hardship the side door. The reason I do not give Roy a higher score is, simply, followup. I did not use the new garage much expect for storage and over the winter noticed that the personnel door was not set correctly; a quarter inch gap exists at the top and down the opening side to about the door knob, and the lockset and deadbolt do not line up (I have to unlatch the knob to set the deadbolt. I texted Roy 3 or 4 times in March and April to which he promptly responded, saying he would take a look. He did not. I also left a couple phone messages that were not returned, so my conclusion is that once the job is done, there will be no followup on any problems. I was in no hurry and said so, but now it is September and he never followed up. His website doesn?t say anything about a warranty and I did not discuss a warranty with him so my conclusion is there is none. So in the end, I?m satisfied overall with the work, his subs are very easy to work with as is Roy and the process went fine. I?m disappointed that he blew off a basic door realignment so I?d say to just be careful and ask more questions, and hold some cash back until completely satisfied. My mistake was that I thought I was completely satisfied and then the minor problem became evident, Roy said he would take a look a couple times and then ignored it. I would consider hiring him again, but be a bit wiser this time to make sure I don't feel compelled to ding him for responsiveness and professionalism, both of which are based solely on that lack of followup. Roy responded to this review on Angie's List and returned to adjust the door pretty quickly after returning his call so no problem upping my grade from C to B.

I think he was on Angie’s List and that is where I found him. It went very well and he did a good job. The quality of the product is really good, and it is really nice. He was in and out of here in three days, so it was a good job. He had a good selection. He did quality construction, and it is a nice finished product. There are probably better prices out there.

RMG built us a 18 X 20 single story garage. It went well. A few years after it has been built I am still happy with it. Should of went with a larger garage, but the size was our decision. They did a quality install only a few issues. I wish I would have gotten a garage apron and communication could have been a little better. Overall a good job. Use RMG with confidence.

I submitted a request through the RMG Construction web site, and did not receive a reply. After waiting a week or so I called and spoke with Roy. Once I spoke to him on the phone, everything went fairly well. Roy helped me plan a garage that met my needs and working within the city of Norfolk's maximum height of a detached garage. My garage is a 24 ft X 30 ft two story barn style structure. It was built on site and not some pre-fab kit. I am very satisfied with the quality and of the end results. I believe at a cost of $27,000 for this size of garage was very fair. Note: This price is for an unfinished garage. I highly recommend considering RMG Construction!!!

Very prompt with estimate, signed a contract, installed on the days specified. Also he referred his brick mason to us to build our columns for our new fence, the skirting around the bottom of the shed and an half moon stoop in front of it. Our old shed was actually a part of our old fence, and the coordination between the two contractors RMG and Murphy Fence Co. went well.

There was some initial difficulty in contacting the provider because he had changed his cell phone number (which was not provided on the company's website). After multiple attempts in calling the number reflected on the webpage I was called to set up a consultation. Roy is definitely an experienced craftsman and worked with me to design the type of shed that would benefit me best. He and his crew showed up as planned and did a super job in constructing the shed (literally in a single day). The roofers showed up a few days later than originally discussed to complete the shingle work. And finally, the siding crew showed up over a week later than planned to complete the siding work. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the final product. All personnel involved in the construction of the shed did a fantastic job with their respective jobs. However, the time required to complete the work from start to finish exceeded the timeframe that I was initially quoted by almost two weeks. At one point I became extremely concerned that the project would not be completed as per the agreed upon contract. That being said, I would definitely recommend RMG Construction to others based on the quality of their product and the professionalism of Mr. Roy Gomez himself.

Came out when he said he would to give an estimate. Took time to explain what he would do, what it would look like, what materials, and how long to complete. Provided a very detailed contract so there were no surprises. He began construction on time, did work himself with one helper (skilled). Craftsmanship was excellent-used 4x4s for studs & very thick siding for roof with exterior on the bottom for a very striking effect. the deck boards were the best quality I have seen. When he finished he totally policed the job site leaving it neat & clean. The mason he hired to do the brick skirt came right on time & did an excellent job of matching mortar from the 60's, top notch craftsmanship. He came recommended by a co-worker who raved about his work & I can see why. I would recommend him to anyone.

Overall, everything went like clockwork. We could not have asked for anything more.

RMG provided us with numerous examples of other work they had done in the area and set us up to visit a recently constructed screen porch. I was impressed with their willingness to match my design requests as I had other firms try to change my thoughts on door placement and gable end design. I found the quality of their workmanship to be excellent and they left a very clean work site upon completion. I would not hesitate to use them in the future.

Very professional and down to business, reasonably priced compared to several others I looked at, was able to build onsite with minimal fence removal, no surprises! I asked RMG to build a shed 12x16 with matching siding to my house, during construction the glass in the doors was shattered and before I even knew it, Roy was out replacing it. I couldn't have asked for a better experience Roy offers a lifetime warranty, and was happy to re affirm it on his final paperwork. Although I doubt it will be needed. Everyone who's seen the shed says it could be a spare room because its so well built. Thanks Roy!

Everything was great! RMG did excellent work, and it got the shed to match the house perfectly. They even upgraded some of the barn's features for free when there were unexpected delays.

Roy built a 12x16 garage for us with custom 8x10 door and french doors on the side. He worked with our budget to get us exactly what we wanted. The speed and quality of the build was impressive. All I can say is that these guys are PROs. He matched our exterior siding and eave with the house. He started on time and finished within 4 days. I would recommend him and RMG crew to anyone looking for a garage or shed in any format/size or design. He even used leftover lumber to build a small loft inside the garage. He wrapped a existing french door on my house in aluminum as a courtesy before he left. I'm very happy with the work and the short amount of time it took from start to finish.

Before we decided to go with this company, Roy gave us an address of a garage he had just finished so we could look at the quality. We also got the ask that home owner about his experience. We met with Roy to go over exactly what we wanted and to draw up the plans to submit to our HOA. The garage had to match our brick house to get passed. We filled out the contract and set the date. The plans were in great detail and we had no problems with our HOA. He started work on the date he promised, he kept informed the entire time as to what would happen each day. A guy came out and left several samples of bricks for us to match up to our house since our brick had been discontinued. The framing crew did a super job, worked well together and were very professional. We were amazed how very little scrap material was left over. The concrete guys and brick layers were the same way. The brick guys washed each brick when they were done, the lines of the brick look amazing. My only complaint would be about the roofers, they did great work but left a lot of nails and lots of cigarettes butts on the ground.This might sound like a small thing, but at the beginning of the job I told them I didn't mind if they smoked but to make sure all butts were put in the trash. RMG built a high quality garage AND got it done two weeks ahead of schedule. We will hire them again for our garden shed when the time comes.
