The sale itself was an absolute fiasco. He did not provide a detailed list of all items to be sold prior to the auction (which was written in his contract and it's a state statute), and afterwards gave me a vague list of what was sold so it is impossible for me to reconcile what is known to be missing. I did pretty much did 80% of the prep work including buying boxes and filling them with tons of items, and when the auction occurred and he had an auctioneer here who I never saw his license. We had a lot of items go missing after the auction and since there no detailed list we were never able to reconcile where the discrepancy is. The detailed list should have been provided prior as per the state statute. We have made repeated attempts to get the information from him, both through the state regulating board and attorney, and at this point we are trying to sever the contract and move on, but he is no longer communicating with us or our attorney. He kept pushing an offer about 75,000 less than the current value of the house (and 20,000 less than the reserve price) 2 weeks prior to the auction, but said the person offering could not afford his commision. When the auction occurs ZERO people showed up for auction of the house. I've spoke with different auctioneers and spoke with the auction board and they said it was very odd nobody showed up. We were sold a service that was not provided, the auction itself was not performed in accordance to the state statutes which are currently set by the state DPOR who are currently investigating the matter. If they're this comfortable doing this to me and my senior parents while I was here I can't even imagine what they'd do on their own.
