We looked at 7 different providers of replacement windows for our 1978 original double hung windows. Unfortunately, Mr. Rogers was the very first one. I had heard of them before and it appeared that they had a good rating on Angie's List so I made an appointment with them to show me there window and give me a quote. A few days before the appointment I called Mr. Rogers to reschedule the date/time because of a conflict that had come up. The lady that answered the phone was pleasant and quickly rescheduled the appointment. She told me that it would take about an hour to do the demo so I set the appointment 2 hours before a meeting I had later in the evening. Well, the salesman arrived at our home about 75 minutes late. I called Mr. Rogers to report that he hadn't arrived and he called shortly thereafter to tell me that he hadn't gotten the word. When he arrived, very apologetically, I reluctantly offered to reschedule again but he told me that he oculd shorten the presentation and be done by the time I needed to leave to my evening meeting. Well, it didn't happen. Turns out there was way too much information about the window features, purchase price, etc., to really be able to do justice to a presentation in 45 minutes. I ended up having to miss my evening meeting. The presentation lasted between about an hour and 45 minutes and 2 hours, however, part of that time was signing the purchase agreement. The actual window presentation lasted about an hour to hour and fifteen minutes. We signed the purchase agreement and bought the windows because: 1) they were a good, quality window - though no better that some others we looked at and not as good, in my opinion, as the ones I purchased from American Builders. I recommend you go to their website and look at the Angie's List review on my experience with them. 2). We knew that Mr. Rogers was a big company, had lots of advertising and good overall grades on Angie's List - some negative reviews but overall an A grade. 3.) Becuase they were so big and had lots of installs they had their own installation team which led us to believe that this important part of the purchase would go well. 3) HIGH PRESSURE SALES APPROACH that we succumbed to. They were offering a 25% discount, but only good if we bought the windows that night. I certainly didn't want to go through the review process with other vendors, find out that indeed, Mr. Rogers' windows that I saw first were the best value and then have to pay the full purchase price. So, with the promise that if we weren't satisfied we could cancel the purchase with no penalty, we decided to purchase the windows. Mistake - BIG Mistake. Knowing I had 72 hours, I rescheduled almost all the other appointments over the next 3 days. After just the very next appointment, I began to realized that the price I paid for Mr. Rogers windows was way out of line with what I was seeing with the new vendor. After I finished seeing almost all of the rest in the next 3 days, it was obvious that I had paid between 2 and 3 times as much for what , in my humble opinion, was a window (I believe it was Renewal by Anderson) that was no better than some and not as good as others. It was also better than some. But the point is, after I had the other window presentations it appeared obvious to me that I was paying a premium for the name brand. They must need to charge that much to pay for all the advertising they do and for its huge showroom down in Chesapeake I will say that I went in person within the alloted 72 hours to cancel my purchase to make sure there was no shenanigans and fortunately, there was no problem. Naturally, they tried to make some concessions, but they were so far off the price for all of the other windows I evaluated there was no need to discuss further. Bottom line: It's a good window, but not the best in my opinion and even if it were, not worth what they charge. I also don't think you will get near the value for your money that you would with several of the other vendors out there. So, unless you aren't too concerned with what value you get for your money, I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY.

Response from Mr. Rogers Windows
(member name removed) - Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry your experience with our Design Consultant was less than your expectation. I have spent the better part of the last 30 years trying to provide a better installation experience and also a better buying experience. I apologize if you experienced anything less. >Appointment Time Confusion: We attempted to reach the consultant on the day that you requested a different time. We were unable to reach him in advance to come earlier as you wanted. It’s rare that this happens, and it did happen in your case. >Follow Up Call: After a consultant visits with you, I personally follow up and check in on your experience. I attempted to call you on the 6th. I left a message and invited you to call me back on my direct line 757-819-1060 to provide any feedback on your consultation. I am sorry we never made that personal connection. That invitation to call me directly is always available. I welcome your call. >Window Cost: The Andersen replacement windows, Renewal by Andersen, are one of the best quality replacement windows in the industry. Andersen dates back to 1903, 110 years in the business. Their patented composite material, Fibrex, gives homeowners long lasting value, because the material does not deteriorate like wood, nor does it warp like vinyl. What you pay more for now will last for as long as you own your home… and perhaps longer. That is why you get a lifetime performance guarantee with windows and doors from Mr. Rogers. >EPA Lead Safe Installation Homes built before 1978 are designated for a Lead Safe Installation practice. This installation process requires training, certification and additional time and skill for the installation. Your home requires that type of installation. >No Surprise Price Quote The in home consultation and window inspection is designed to support you in choosing the style of windows you want for each room. And it also determines what additional installation issues will need to be addressed and included. In your case significant moisture had infiltrated the window area and rotten wood was identified. All of that wood was designated for replacement and the new windows included a moisture barrier installation process that would resolve that issue for you long term. We also included exterior trim replacement and interior trim as needed. Our written price quote is for the whole project, no surprises. And it is guaranteed for 1 full year. >Cancellation Policy We realize this turnkey package isn't for everyone that is why we make it comfortable to cancel the contract if you have any concern about moving forward. We have a no questions asked policy on any cancellations because we ultimately want your experience to be painless and for you to be satisfied, even delighted, with your window project. (member name removed), once again I do apologize if you received anything except the utmost of professionalism. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if there is anything I can do. Sincerely, Gerry Rogers, President 757-819-1060

They underestimated the job and the craftsmanship in installing the trim within the home was sub-par initially and upon advisement of the quality of the work they fixed it. There many challenges with this install, we like the windows however, installation of such needs serious improvement. There attention to detail is lacking.
Description of Work: We went with the full replacement windows. We also had two doors installed, and there were additional challenges with that as well.

Mr Rogers Windows did a great job in replacing the windows in our home. We , like many I am sure looked at many different companies and options,.. Others were cheaper but when you take the time to really see what you get with a cheap window compared to a quality window, I couldn't see putting anything else in my home... The wife is very happy with the looks and easy cleaning.. I like the money I save on the energy bills..

Thank you for your review. For my window replacement company “quality” is measured by three standards: a quality window, quality installation, and a quality guarantee from a business you can trust. The representative showed up promptly at 9. I was told both of us should be present and it would take between 60-90 minutes. FOUR hours later he presents us with a number: 35K for 23 windows. We were dumbfounded. He went outside to "talk to his boss".(read: have a cigarette) When he came back he offered us a discount:28k and a cruise if we signed that day. We invited him to leave quickly. The windows look like quality windows but from our other estimates 1500/window is super high. Most estimates are around 600 each. I felt like our time was wasted.... four hours was excessive for a presentation on windows... it was more like WINDOWS 101. When I asked for an estimate on paper he said they are a paperless company and he would email it to me. I find this to be very unprofessional.... even in this day and age, and for that amount of money a paper estimate is essential. Luckily, he has only contacted us again one time by email. Needless to say, we will be getting other estimates.

Thank you for your review. I apologize that you felt like your time was wasted in a Windows 101 experience. I had already had Mr. Rogers windows install Andersen windows about 10 years ago so I knew I wanted their product and service. They use the Andersen Renewal replacement window which is made of a composite material. The older windows still look new and I've had no quality or performance problems like the issues that plague vinyl windows such as oxidation, expansion, shrinkage and seal failure. These windows are durable and feel solid when operating but yet they are pleasing to the eye, streamline and easy to operate. They don't look like typical retrofitted replacement windows. I also know from experience that they do quality workmanship and stand behind their work years after completed. I'm a bit "old school" and believe in quality product and workmanship. I don't mind paying for good quality but these days it seems even if you pay extra you don't get quality. Not the case with Mr. Rogers. From the sales consultation, through the measurements and installation everything went smoothly. I was concerned about the installation because I wanted the trim profiles to match my existing trim. One window was a garden window being replaced with an awning window which really worried me. I saw the job that another well known window company did for my neighbor and was horrifed at the results. M y worries were for nothing because the installers went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They really paid attention to the details of the flashing and sealing which was very important to me. ..and alas, they matched my trim profiles perfectly. Quality job, class A operation. I couldn't be happier and I would not hesitate to recommend them and already have. As soon as I save the money, they'll be doiing my doors too. Thank you to all the staff at Mr Rogers Windows for giving me awesome windows and peace of mind.

Windows and door are fantastic! Excellent quality that was worth the price (not cheap but you get what you pay for). There were some issues with damage to a couple of plants and due to heavy rain and other factors we were not pleased with several results -- all pretty minor. Because we were so impressed with everything about Mr. Rogers, we decided to let them know about the few minor glitches in their service. The response was incredible. They've bent over backwards to ensure we were happy. This response is completely unprecedented in my experience and was truly impressive: from multiple calls from Mr. Rogers to incredibly responsive action by his Operations Manager, Kenny. Since we now have a lifetime guarantee of our satisfaction I probably won't have a reason to be a return customer but I wouldn't hesitate if the occasion arose and we would give them our unqualified recommendation. Absolutely first class!

Your review is very helpful to window shoppers. It’s helpful because we are not perfect, even though I’d like us to be. When we make a mistake, we take responsibility and do the right thing. Thank you for your review. As a result of these comments we were able to go back out to this home and evaluate the problems mentioned. Even though the installation was in 2011, we went out and re-installed every window so it fit properly with no drafts. I sincerely regret that there was a problem. I appreciate that there is a review process that let us respond. We took full responsibility and removed and installed every window to our guaranteed performance standards. No cost. Andersen Windows are expensive, they are top-of-the-line, the best there is, and that's what I wanted. The windows will withstand winds of 120 mph. The crew were really great in your house. First thing is you have people come in your house and tear your windows out, which generally isn't a lot of fun. They were really methodical about making sure that the wood, anytime they were putting a window in, they were putting it on solid wood because I had this house built in 1990, so at some point, I am a mile and a half off the beach so the weather brings a lot of salt. That is hard on the wood, so I watched how they tore all that out and replaced all the bad wood. Everything that was put in, you could see that they were really doing it right. As far as I was concerned, the crew were like family with us when they were here, which made me very comfortable. When you've got people in your house tearing the windows out of every room, and they would clear out windows and replace them, you have to be comfortable. The windows they put in, they are all covered so you never have to paint them or fool with them. That is very important here in my area because of the salt air. And we do get hurricanes - our neighbors to the south in NC stick their chin out and pretty well catch the hurricanes for us. We get them, but they've lightened up by the time they get in to us, unless a hurricane comes dead end at us. These windows are a great product and they are guaranteed for life. Even if somebody throws a brick through your window, they will come and replace it, it doesn't matter. My neighbor threatened to do that when I told her about it! I said they had better not. With the lifetime guarantee, even when I pass the house on, say, to one of my daughters - as long as it stays in the family, they continue with the guarantee. I really was thrilled with them. It sounds like a lot of money but it is high end, and that is what I wanted, the best.

The foyer window was the only window we needed replaced, and many of the local window companies wouldn't even come to the house and provide an estimate for "only" one window, even if it was a big one. Mr. Rogers Windows was wonderful. The gentleman who came for the estimate was indeed a gentleman and wonderful to consult with. Yes, the price for the Anderson window we selected was a little steep, but the warranties and company product/installation backing sold it. The installation of the window took most of one day and part of the next, but the guys were terrific. They were very conscientious about their work, taking good care of the existing surrounding structure and the interior of the home. The made sure the job was done right, even though it took a little longer than expected. And when they left, there was no mess for me to deal with.
Description of Work: We had the large foyer window in our home replaced. The window that was replaced was original to the home (1994). It had some moisture trapped between the double panes, and it was leaking around the sill, especially during driving rainstorms.

Description of Work: Yes, the cost is more than what you'd pay at box stores or with other contractors. But, in my opinion, well worth it. The windows & screens are guaranteed for as long as we own the house. This is much better than a 1 year warranty from others. Plus, come to find out once the windows were taken out, there was wood rot behind the frames, which was a result of siding not being put in right due to renovations done before we bought the house. This damage was repaired at no extra cost. The crew was very friendly, professional, and answered any questions we may have had. Supervisors stopped by and called to see how the job was going, too. Overall, very well worth the money and will be using them again.

They installed Andersen windows. They are very good windows, very high quality and they cost a lot. Each time I have used them, the crews have been very professional. We didn't have them service our house for more than half a day each time.

Mr. Rogers came a few weeks ago and and looked at some moisture damage to a door I had them install about 5 years ago. They said the moisture damage was covered by the life time warranty - and set an appointment to come and repair the damage. They were on time as promised and removed and installed an entire new door in about 2 hours. The door way was resealed and lined and foam insulation was applied between the new door frame and the house struture. The door works and fits perfectly. The door is slightly different from the original door I bought due to the new features offered by Mr Roger's and I actually have a better door than the original door I had purchased. All of the colors and design features of the door remained the same as the origiional door I purchased orginally. They cleaned up after themselves and actually left the area cleaner than when they came. The service personnel were courteous and professional. I am VERY happy with the new door and the repairs made - and the cost to me was ZERO. Mr. Roger's prices are more toward the high end - but the quality of their product and warranty as well as their workmanship and respect for their customer's homes - is hard to beat. I would HIGHLY recommend using their services and their products. I think it is difficult to find someone with this type of integrity who stands behind their products in today's world.....Thanks Mr. Rogers!! PS - I also have their windows and have had no problems with them whatsoever - and I purchased the windows several years prior to getting the door mentioned here.

Mr. Rogers, although the highest priced overall (looked at Pella and a local manufacturer), came with enthusiastic recommendations from two neighbors. These recommendations were accurate. The team showed up as scheduled on Monday morning, worked for 8 hours a day for three days to remove and replace house windows, and checked and double-checked their work as they went along to make sure the windows worked as advertised. The window team was extremely careful to not trash the house, to wear blue clean room booties when coming into the house from outside, and to remove and replace window treatments and furniture when needed. On the fourth day (Thursday). a different team came to remove and replace the front door. Again, the technicians did an impeccable job, making sure everything was right before packing up for the day. Due to high winds, some of the external window caulking had bits of leaves, etc. that were stuck in the caulk (happened before the caulk had a chance to cure completely). Mr. Rogers sent a technician to take care of the problem, which involved carefully scrubbing the cured caulk with vinegar and a toothbrush. By the end, the caulk looked like there had never been a problem. Finally, Mr. Rogers has followed up with the job a couple of times -- once to make sure we knew how to remove the windows for cleaning from the inside (a great thing to have for a two-story house), and once to get a "how goes it". In short, we were completely satisfied with the service, and we are now the third neighbor in our cul-de-sac who would recommend both Mr. Rogers and his windows.

11 front windows where replaced with new contruction, Renewal by Andersen products. These are not 'replacement windows" fitted into existing frames but new, complete assemblies. The front of my house is Dryvit(EIFS) so another contractor worked in concert with Mr. Rogers to cut back the EIFS decorative banding around the original windows in preperation for installing the new windows. The two contractors worked very well together coordinating their work to get the job done in the most efficient and professional manner. Mr. Rogers was extremely professional and proactive. Having worked with EIFS on many other projects, the sales rep, Kenny, insisted that I have the EIFS re-inspected, essentially at thier expense, to be sure there was no serious latent damage before work began. This is prudent given EIFS history of major damage with poor maintenance. There were telltale signs of problems and the inspection allowed us to correct damage and move forward with an excellent install. The peace of mind resulting from the inspection and repairs is outstanding. The interior window frames were completely replaced very professionally. They even rehung our window treatments after the work was completed. Additionally, 10 other windows were replaced with same product but these were replacement windows using the original window frames. These windows used the original interior trim and the fit/finish are excellent. The windows operate effortlessly - vastly superior to the original wood-framed new construction windows. They all look great. The exterior trim on the non-dryvit portions of the house(vinyl) were trimmed in aluminum and caulked. The result is a very professional install that compliments the exterior of the house. It all looks like it belongs on the house - not somethings added later that doesn't quite fit in. One of the 11 replacement windows is over the kitchen sink. The original was a double casement window that was split right in the middle. The replacement is a single "awning" window that opens out from the bottom rather than the side - no split in the middle! A nice clean improvement over the original double casement! Another 'win' was the eat-in kitchen area: originally, we had 3 double-hung windows here; the typical double sash windows you can open from the top or bottom. Gone and replaced with a large fixed center window flanked by 2 smaller casement windows. This is a much cleaner look that opens up the view - superb! It's been 4 months and we are very pleased with the outcome. Knowing that this is a longstanding business that firmly stands by their product and provides an excellent warranty gives us great peace of mind. The follow-up after the install was great. I recommend Mr. Rogers Windows with no reservations.
Description of Work: 11 front windows where replaced with new contruction, Renewal by Andersen products. These were not 'replacement windows" fitted into existing frames but new, complete assemblies. Additionally, 10 other windows were replaced with same product but these were replacement windows using the original window frames.

All of the representatives from Mr. Rogers were great, from the sales representative to the installers. They were punctual, professional, and courteous. The installation took 5 days, and each day someone from the company came to check on the progress and our satisfaction. The contract was very specific and detailed, so there were no surprises during the work. We're very pleased with product and the company and have recommended it to others.
Description of Work: We had 26 windows and 1 sliding glass door replaced.

They were very clean, fast and were able to tell me how much it was going to cost. I also liked that they worked with me to bring the costs down. I already plan on using them again.
Description of Work: I had them replace both the windows and window seals.

Update 4/14/2014 - Three Winters later and we been glad for this decision every day. A dry home that keeps out the hot or cold! The experience was A+ all the way. Price was the only factor that I was skittish about giving an "A", but truth is that we did a lot of research and got a lot of estimates and contacted references. There were other companies whom we received good references for, and who gave us lower estimates. We chose Mr. Rogers over the others based upon our evaluation that they had the solution that was right for us, our belief that the products were right for our home, and our ability to communicate with their consultant, Kenny Lowe. Our conclusion... over six months after they installed all of our new windows and our siding is that the quality is worth every penny.in the consulting stage, Kenny was the only consultant from any company who listened enough to understand the issues our homes envelope was having as well as the specific look we were looking for from the inside and outside. Kenny nailed it!When the job started the project manager, siding crew, and windows crew did outstanding work in what turned out to be the hottest period of the 2011 summer in VB. All were respectful of our home and flooring, practicing the golden rule :) Very happy with the increased quiet and energy efficiency.
Description of Work: Removed old siding and windows, replaced water-damaged materials under the old siding, wrapped the house in Tyvek, replaced our windows with Anderson Renewal windows, installed the new siding (insulated) and trim, and cleaned-up completely!

I thought they were a good company, but their prices were a little high. I found a price for about 25% less. I probably won't use them again for additional estimates.

Received bids from Mr Rogers and Pella windows after checking out other local dealers. We went with Mr Rogers because we preferred the Anderson windows. We also received good references from neighbors on both Mr Rogers and the windows. Once offer was accepted, another rep from Mr Rogers came out and confirmed window measurements and styles. Windows were ordered. A few weeks later, Mr Rogers called and set up install dates. Installation took 2 days and went without a hitch. Never had any issues with windows since installation. Wouldn't hesitate to use company again.
Description of Work: Removed old windows and installed Renewal by Anderson windows.
