We cannot say enough good things about Mid Atlantic Exteriors! Robert came and gave us a fair quote so we looked no further. He and his crew came out and finished our deck in two and half days! The crew was amazing. Our new deck is well-made and beautiful. We have had many people stop by to complement how beautiful our desk is. Thank you Robert and crew for a very positive experience.

Robert was very professional, knowledgeable and made recommendations in areas were we had special requests.. His crew did a great job in completing the project. We would highly recommend Mid-Atlantic Exteriors.

Super bummed. Spent over 8k to have our deck rebuilt and the work is shoddy. They did one round of “improvements” on their work prior to the final payment, but when we noticed more glaring errors after being paid in full, they just ghosted. Now we have a brand new deck in need of repairs. You can see their attempt at using “wood filler” instead of actually fixing the problems. Also failed to pull a permit.

Rob’s team installed a new composite deck for us in the spring of 2021 and we were very happy with those results. In the fall of 2022, a huge oak tree fell across our patio and the deck - fortunately, the deck structure survived with no issues but one of the composite boards was cracked and most of the vinyl railing was damaged. Rob responded quickly and had the damaged board and railing replaced, as well as the replacement of a section of our aluminum fencing, within 2 weeks of my first contact with him and for a fair price. Happy with the responsiveness and the quality of both the initial work and the repair.

I add this review with regret & disappointment. Robert Norman built our large (~800 sq. ft) deck in 2016 & it was beautiful at completion. I give 2 stars for that but I think this site would benefit from my 6 year review. We used best-grade, premium, pressure-treated wood. It was beautiful at the start. We have had the deck washed & re-stained every 2 years by professionals. Unfortunately, almost 20% of the boards are rotted & have already required replacement. I do not know whether the wrong screws were used or whether inset them below the wood surface, (as was done), is to blame but a well cared for pressure treated wood deck should last longer than 6 years. I have tried to contact Mr. Norman, leaving repeated messages, but with no response. NO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MID-ATLANTIC FOR DECK BUILDING.

I was very pleased with Trex deck that the company built along with the meticulous work that went into the two gated fences. The gates were well-built and looked great. Very pleased with the projects.

So amazing! I can't stop staring at the new stairs! We needed to replace unstable deck stairs. We turned to Mid Atlantic after seeing all the beautiful pictures of decks they built in the area. Immediate response. Almost no wait. Project completed in 2 days! Robert and Bobby are about the nicest guys in the world and they did an incredible job. I cannot recommend them enough!

Robert was very upfront and honest about the project/pricing. There were a lot of unknowns because they had to remove an original deck that was not properly constructed. He explained everything in detail, from workmanship to costs. I would absolutely hire them again!

Robert did a great job. His pricing is very good in comparison to others I talked to. He said the job would take a week and it was finished a day early. The workmanship is superlative and it came out just as we planned.

Old deck boards were removed, existing joists were reinforced and PVC boards were installed on the deck and existing ramp. Mr. Norman was very easy to work with in planning what needed to be done within my budget. His crew was efficient and cleaned up at the end of each work day. The old deck boards were removed on Monday and the work was completed by Friday. I am very pleased with the end result.

Great. Mid Atlantic showed up on time, looked at the deck rail, and leveraged it back in place. No charge was made for the visit. I've used these folks before to demolish and replace an out door shower stall/platform, and they are very honest, and respectful.

. After meeting with Mr. Norman, he was able to give us a reasonable estimate on the spot. Scheduling was also a factor in our decision since we wanted the project done before family was due to visit. After letting him know we wanted to move forward, he was able to schedule a crew within 2 weeks even though there was a lot of rain in the forecast. The old deck was removed and a very sturdy, new deck was built in less than week. The head carpenter, Bobby, does excellent work. The vinyl replacement on front porch railing looks fantastic! The crew was very timely, diligent and clean-up was great!

Robert and his crew were very professional. The crew started work on the scheduled day and worked through until completion. They responded to any concerns we had along the way. Communication was ongoing throughout the process. The new deck is especially sturdy and the materials used are first rate. The clean-up at the end was thorough. We are very pleased with the look and feel of our new deck. We would highly recommend them to others. The deck they took down was about 1,000 sf. The new one in 720 sf.

He used grade B materials and to top it all he neglected to secure a permit which caused a lot of unnecessary stress for my wife and I when we tried to get a permit for another project last winter.

It was a pleasure working with Robert Norman and his team from start to finish. Robert came out, surveyed our situation, explained what our options were, and gave us a fair and reasonable estimate. He was very responsive to questions that we had over the next several days. His estimate was one of three. Based on his price and thorough explanation of the work involved - and based on favorable reviews that we found on Angie's List - , we selected Robert. His team composed of Bobby and Jamie were able to come a week early. Each of these two guys knew what he was supposed to do and coordinated very well with one another. They were very capable, conscientious, and efficient. The work (demolition and new construction) began on Monday about 9:00 am and was completed by noon on Friday of the same week. Great job! We are very satisfied with our new deck.

They were good. It took less than a week.They supplied their own power supply. They did an excellent job. They used good wood. It rained a day or two but they still managed to finish within a week. It was during hurricane season and the power went out and they just continued working.

Robert and his team showed up on time, were responsive to our change requests as the project unfolded, and started and finished within the time frame specified.

These guys were awesome. Despite the weather, they stayed with the job until it was complete. Showed up everyday on time and were a pleasure to work with. Outstanding workmanship.

The company came out quickly to provide a quote. Once I decided to go with them, they were here the following week. The quote was for "Remove & Dispose of old deck", Build a 12 x1 4 pressure treated deck , and upgrade to clear pressure treated wood. The new deck is fine, however the "remove and dispose of old deck" was never completed. Since we had a smaller deck replace the old one, there are 14 deck posts in concrete that they did not remove. I called the over the weekend and they said they would be back in the evening one night the following week. They never showed up and I've called and left 2 messages since then. Even though they cut the post to the ground, it still is unsightly, uneven and you can't even grow grass over that area or place patio stones. I'm very disappointed in the job not being completed, lack of response and lack of showing up to complete the work as they said they would.

We couldn't have asked for a easier process or end result. The guys were out less than a week from when we had the estimate down, a Monday morning, and finished by that Wednesday afternoon. Their attention to detail was above and beyond. We couldn't be happier! We even had a builder who is building some houses next door admiring the work (he didn't know anyone was home...ha). The deck looks wonderful and we will be referring anyone who needs a deck to Robert and his great team.

He gave us a start date and finish date and they arrived and completed the work as scheduled. They disposed of the old fencing for us and the finished product looks fantastic! Very pleased!

We are very pleased with the extremely high quality of the workmanship. The trim wrap is not your typical flat trim, but instead has multiple angles (hard to explain) which looks so much more polished than what I typically see on other homes. Our new porch is amazing and only took a day to install. The owner, Robert, was very responsive and often stopped by to check on the work. Other estimates were slightly lower, but I think the quality of work was worth the extra money. We would highly recommend Mid-Atlantic Exteriors!
