The owner of the company, Robert Norman came out to provide the estimate. Robert was very friendly and made several suggestions. He was able to work up an estimate in a short time which was provided to me in a smorgasbord format in which I could select among the several options we discussed with each option being priced separately. We signed the contract on a Wednesday and the materials were delivered the following Monday. His crew consisting of 3 people (Henry, his 82 year old dad and their helper Mike, showed up the next day and started demo on the old deck and had it torn down and removed by the end of the day. The following day the holes for the new footings were dug and filled with concrete. A few days later the crew came back and started building the new deck. There were a few weather delays and some scheduling delays during the building process but the job was eventually completed. The bottom line is that I am extremely pleased with the final results. Everybody I dealt with at Mid Atlantic Exteriors was friendly and professional. It was a pleasure to be with them and watch them work. I want to thank them all for doing such a great job building my new deck. I'm looking forward to having some good times on the new deck.

He was great! Their work looks absolutely fabulous and I love it, I just want to sit outside on this deck all the time now! He came out on a Thursday for the consultation and had his crew here promptly at 8am that following Monday! The had the deck completed in two days and it looks great!

Robert and his crew at Mid Atlantic Exteriors were outstanding throughout the whole process, from start to finish. Robert was very professional and knowledgeable when he came to give us an estimate of what we wanted done. He had great ideas of what type of deck would meet our needs as well as maximize space and stay within budget. We now have a wonderful 12 x 16 deck with an attached 10 x 10 pergola. Robert promised that it would be "custom" built, and he kept his word. He and his crew were done within four days and the deck is awesome. It was still a little chilly out, but we threw our jackets on because we couldn't wait to enjoy our new deck. And believe me, when he said "custom", that's is exactly what we got. Because of the dimensions of our house, the deck was built to compliment it in every way. We have railing around the pergola and one side of the deck, and on the other side there's built-in benches. Talk about maximizing your space. On the last day of construction, my wife and I came home to a incredible deck and no debris or trash left over. Robert and his crew did a great job cleaning up. We will definitely recommend Mid Atlantic Exteriors to anyone who is looking to have a "custom" deck built.

Work is actually still in process but I had previously given a low grade due to not being contacted once I left email and voice messages asking for a quote. Robert called me immediately and apologized for the oversight and expressed how important reputation was to him. I was impressed with his sincerity and agreed to give it a second chance, and I'm glad I did. I have a high confidence level that things will go well and that I will be happy with the result.

Robert Norman responded within a short time frame. The workers that replaced our deck were here all 3 mornings around 8:00 and worked without a break, other than a lunch break, which was amazing. Henry and Pop's (his 82 year old dad) are a great asset to Mid Atlantic Exterior's. They answered any questions without having to think long about an answer. We are so pleased to have our new PVC decking, it looks great and we have already enjoyed sitting on it and listening to the birds chirp. I would "Highly" recommend Mid Atlantic Exterior's for any job that they do. We will use them again if and when we need some other services in which they provide. Mr. Norman and his crew showed up on time and returned all calls, answered all questions, assisted with design of deck. Mr. Norman and his crew were extremely professional, in attitude, demeanor, and application of materials. Crew clean up all excess materials and removed them from property. This was a large deck job (over 600 sq. feet) with several wrinkles. We obtained 5 estimates before selecting a contractor to do the work. Robert was straightforward, easygoing and kept the project simple. The price quoted was very competitive. He was patient in answering all of our questions and took time after hours to make sure that we were comfortable before we got started. He gave us a firm start and finish date. His workers showed up on time, were considerate of their surroundings, and worked diligently. They stayed on the job uninterrupted until the project was complete, and actually finished several days early. This company is the model for how contractors should operate their businesses. We have already recommended them to a number of friends and neighbors.

I can not say enough good things about the quality of work done by Robb Norman's company Mid Atlantic Exteriors. From initial bid to final acceptance of the finished work, it was a positive experience. His bid was significantly lower than the other two Angie?s List contractors we selected. The deck was designed by my wife and unusual in that it was diamond-shaped. She also wanted the boards, footprint, and stairs built to a specific design. Mr Norman said can-do and recommended that we upgrade the wood and we are really glad we listened to him. The final product was exactly what we wanted and hugely better than the old deck. The two men that worked on our deck, Bobby and Travis, were a real pleasure to have work for us. They arrived on time and cleaned up their mess before they left each day. After demolishing the old deck, they began work on the new deck. They asked our preference on several things we hadn?t thought of, and several times recommended better solutions. We would use them again and have enthusiastically recommended them to our neighbors and friends. My advice is ?listen to their recommendations, they know what they are doing?.

Mid Atlantic Exteriors was a pleasure to work with! I called on a Monday, and the owner Robert came Wednesday afternoon to do the estimate. He showed up a little early, and I explained what I wanted to have done. The existing deck was very old, rotting, and hazardous to the point that I didn't even want to step out onto it. I wanted that one torn down and the materials removed, and then a new deck built in the same spot. I told him I didn't want anything fancy, just something solid, and new. He listened to what I wanted and didn't try to upsell me at all. Roughly 15 minutes later I had the estimate, and while I was pleased with it, I was still waiting for estimates to be done from two other companies so I told him I would let him know as soon as possible. The other two estimates were, in my opinion, outrageous, so I decided to go with Mid Atlantic and I'm very happy I did. Robert, and his crew Bobby and Travis, showed up the following Monday to demolish the old deck and haul it away. I was having work done in my crawlspace at the same time, so we scheduled construction to begin on Wednesday. Bobby and Travis showed up bright and early on Wednesday morning, and got right to work. I went outside every once in a while to check on their progress, and every time I did I was amazed. Watching them work was like watching a well oiled machine. They took the time to answer any questions I had, and by the time they were done on Wednesday, the deck was finished, except for the stairs and the skirting. I cannot stress enough how impressed I am with their workmanship. It is very obvious that Bobby and Travis take great pride in what they do. They came back Thursday morning with Robert and finished the stairs and the skirting, and then they cleaned up all the construction debris and hauled it away. I'm fairly sure the area around my deck is cleaner now than when they started! Finally, I asked Robert if he could recommend someone to stain the deck when the time comes, and strip and refinish a concrete porch on the side of my house. I called the person he recommended for an estimate, and he was extremely reasonable so I hired him as well. Everyone who has seen our new deck has been very impressed with it, as am I, and I would not hesitate to recommend Mid Atlantic Exteriors to my family and friends.

This was a positive experience from beginning to end. Mr. Norman responded to our request for an estimate immediately and gave us his price while he was here. No waiting. We received estimates from 3 companies, and Mid-Atlantic was extremely competitive. His crew was here to remove the old deck early one morning and had completed that part of the job in a half day. Three days later our new deck was completed! He used a high grade of decking that has no knotholes and suggested running the boards in a way that eliminated seams. His crew was easily able to satisfy my request for an improved exit from the house and for benches that would not interfere with our view. The deck is fully enclosed at the bottom, which is not only visually appealing but precludes 'critters' from finding their way underneath. When finished, his crew cleaned up absolutely every scrap of trash and you could not tell they had ever been there. What a pleasure to deal with a contractor who does exactly what he promises: they show up on time, crews are not pulled off one job to go work somewhere else, and who do not leave a mess for the owners to deal with. Kudos!

They were excellent and they did a great job for me. They did three jobs for me. They were professional and on time. I liked the end results. It came out just how I expected.

They did a wonderful job. We didn't do any comparison shopping on the prices, but we were satisfied with it.

Robert the owner was very quick to get back to me and set up an appointment for an estimate. When he came to the house I told him what we were looking to do. While outside in the back he gave suggestions on how the deck should be shaped to give it a nice appearance. Out of the three companies we had come out, he was the only one that told us about a wood that looks very clean without any knots on it. We had never heard of it before. Everyone else just told us they only used composite and nothing else. Robert also suggested metal and wood railings for a better look and he was right on! They were suppose to start on a Monday, but could not due to another project needing an extra day. Robert let us know ahead of time and we were good with it. His crew showed up the next day about 8:30 and had the old deck gone by mid afternoon. They were done before the materials arrived! The two gentlemen he had building our new deck were great. Always cleaned up after themselves and made sure no nails, screws, etc were left on the ground(we have 2 dogs and that is a concern). When our deck was finished there was some left over materials and a little bit a trash, but another gentleman from the company came and cleaned it all up and left the backyard exactly the way it was. We could not be more happier with the finished result. Robert was right about his suggestions and how it would look. It is beautiful! I would absolutely use this company again and recommend them to anyone.

It worked out beautifully. We are very pleased. I totally recommend this company for many more jobs. They are very professional, no problems cleaning up the site, the work was done on a timely manner because it was a big job. Those guys, they just knocked it out. I’m very pleased with the work. It was pretty expensive.

They are a good and credible company, they came in and did an awesome job. It was 400sq feet of work, and it took them 2 days to do it. They cleaned up after themselves. The price was excellent. The quality of work was very good. I have been getting compliments from friend of mine. He was willing to answer my calls and tell me where to get stuff for my siding. He was very available to give me advise on how to clean my siding and what to use. He was very much on time, and I also communicated with them on email. My wife was there too, and they were very friendly and helpful. They did not take advantage of my wife.

When I first called to make an appointment for a free quote, the gentleman I spoke with was very kind. When he found out the location of the property he told me that we were out of his service area but since we found him through Angie's List he set up an appointment with us anyways. When he arrived we walked around the outside of the house to point out the windows we wanted to replace, then he took a few measurements and discussed a few options with us. Then once we got to the back of the house we showed him want we wanted for a deck, as we talked he flagged the area and gave us suggestions to improve on our original ideas. After we were done discussing everything that what we wanted for the back deck, he took more measurements and provided us with a quote for both the windows and the deck. We ended up needing other major repairs within the house so we have not started any work outside but when we do, we will definitely consider using this company.

Very professional. Deck was installed in 2 days and still looks great. Workmen were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. We were very happy with the service and would choose them again!
