we have a warranty with them and we needed a part. The tech came out in the spring and worked on it, the issue effected our AC not getting cold enough, she worked around the issue and it was fine for the summer, she said she would order the part and it would come in soon. I somewhat forgot about it but they sure did and when the winter came and that issue was a bigger problem they told us the part was 2k it was covered under our warranty but the warranty was up right around Christmas. So we were kind of stuck, we had to pay the $400 or so for the warranty to continue to get the part. I felt a bit stuck so had to do it. We still have the warranty but watch them, and call them on their BS. We asked for a sales rep to quote us a new system, I had to call back to the head of sales to get the quote because we were not too important to call back from the sales person who stopped by. Not the best place to do business.

What was done went very well & the tech was great but prices are overboard.

Had to have service man come out twice, both technicians were very professional, honest and performed quality work, but the first visit did not fully resolve the issue as the condensation line was still clogged. Second visit seems to have done the trick and there was no additional charge for the second visit even though it was after-hours, which I think was great and it was the right thing to do.

Excellent. Every time they've been here was excellent. Considering the quality you get, I would say their price is average.

I got the run around, I called to get an estimate and they wouldn't give me any idea about how much they charge. It was according to when the guy walks in and looks at the job. I asked them to give me an idea about what they charge for an hour and they said they couldn't do that. I'm not going to deal with a company that is going to give me the run around. Michael & Son was horrible. They were responsive to calls, but everything was based on the guy coming to the house. How could they not give me an idea of how much they charge? I told them exactly what the job was but they couldn't give me any idea of a price. I didn't feel they were professional. I wouldn't hire them or recommend them.

Company is stating that the original water heater that was replaced 6 years ago's warranty is supposed to cover a newer heater that they installed that also failed within a 6 year period. Company does not back up what they recommended and installed. 800.00 labor plus a water heater. These folks are only out to get what they can. I sent them away and will never call again. Buyer Beware!!!!

Did a thorough check, but were not able to fix the issue (it was the electrical company's fault). Performed safety inspection free of charge.

I am very happy with them.? It is a local firm. The guy is a pro and noted other work in a utility closet that whoever did the previous work just tried to make it work. He did not charge me for the extra he just changed it.

Wonderful. The technician was professional and courteous and got the job done right

There were some hiccups, in the installation process, but the company addressed them promptly. I had four installation teams in the house at one point, all were very professional. At the end of each installation, each team explained what they have done, which I always appreciate. More than a month after all HVAC and tankless heater were installed all equipment works fine. We'll see how they do at the one year inspection.

They are expensive but I haven't had any problems.

It didn't go. I get a call from the technician Monday at 8:30 am, asking me what kind of installation I needed. When I indicated that I had a wall unit that I wanted installed, I was told that Michael & Son only does installation for units they are factory authorized to perform. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT WHEN I MADE MY INITIAL CALL.

Great service, could not ask for better

They were very punctual. Called me and allowed me to have my husband call to ask questions, and he called at 8 pm and they stayed on the phone for an hour until my husband understand what they were going to do.

It's not the technician. It's more of the equipment that was installed. It wasn't that the service was bad. The equipment had problems. They service it every time promptly and that has been fine. They were right on time when they said they were going to be.

I don't know if I got them through Angie's List or not. It's a company that advertises like crazy on all our local TV stations. I had a one year contract with them that expired. What I have found out is that first of all they are very expensive and that I have had to call them back a number of times to repair the same thing, more than once. What I mean by that is come back and fix my air conditioning more than once and come back and fix my furnace more than once. It's just not been a happy experience. I had to have them come back so many times. I had this service contract and my heating system was out. It was because the heating system out, it was an emergency situation. They said they'd be there that afternoon. So I called back that afternoon, "Nope, we'll be there tomorrow." I called tomorrow, "Nope, we'll be there the day after tomorrow". So, somebody with a service contract, and it took them days to get here. That's another reason they were not happy with company. This was during a snowstorm, so there were a lot of people without heat.

Poor planning. Poor communication on there part.

The technician (I think Troy was his name) was extremely kind, polite, and professional. He arrived on time. He did two thorough crawls through our crawl space to look at the ductwork and glanced briefly at the unit too. My only complaint was that he didn't give us the specifics about the ductwork (that the bottom of the return line was rusted out). He did tell us it was sitting on the ground, but said he didn't see any holes (a later technician from somewhere else pointed out he could put his hand through the bottom where it was rusted out). He gave us options about cleaning and sealing it or replacing it completely (with quotes that were quite high).

We had some problems. The end result was, it was a poor installation and it took them three years coming back every summer to fix it. This is the first summer that my air conditioners have run without somebody having to come out and do work on them. It shouldn't have happened for brand new air conditioners. We weren't happy with the installation. I wasn't happy with the material either, the air conditioning units they gave me ended up being lousy ones.

They have aggressive maintenance plans. They should not try to aggressively market their maintenance services. The pricing could be better. I do recall it was high but I paid him but it just needed to get done. They were quick when they came out. They came out promptly. The guy did fine work.

Cody arrived within the allotted time frame given. He was polite and professional. He was knowledgeable of the work being performed. He performed the work and provided detailed explanations of everything he did. It was very refreshing to deal with such a professional and courteous employee. He also went above and beyond. It was coincidental that after the work was completed our garage door would not open properly. He answered his personal cell phone call regarding this later that evening, and he also came by the next morning to try and troubleshoot it. Our "garage door man" came later that evening and had to make internal adjustments to the garage door mechanism which he said was totally coincidental and not related to the electrical work performed. A huge thank you to Cody for his attention to detail and going above and beyond. I will use this company again if needed!

Their troubleshooting wasn't as effective as it could have been. I'm just getting ready to engage them for a much larger job. I'm participating more in the planning and how it's going to get done. With the other job, I just trusted them and didn't pay a lot of attention to how they were arriving at their conclusions. I'll pay more attention next time.

I had a water heater that I had purchased for around $400 (40gal) two years prior to calling this company. It had a small leak at the top with some rust. The company told me that it could burst at any time and that I was at risk for flooding. They sold me a 50 gallon water heater for $2,000+, guaranteeing it for life. I asked them to replace the water heater because they convinced me that it would explode if I did not replace it. He told me that I could establish a credit line with the company of around $6,000, which they used almost every bit of without hesistation. They also had to come back to install a wire for the heating element because the plumber who originally installed the heater did not have this part with him. They sent out one of their electricians to install it and charged me $300 for this job. They then talked me into installing a surge protector for $300. Upon doing further research, I found a surge protector at Lowe's for $67. When I brought this to the attention of the company, they told me that they forgot to give me a discount and credited me around $600 for the $300 they charged for the surge protector and the $300 charge for installing the wire. Overall, I was pretty disappointed in all of the costs I had accumulated for a project that should not have been nearly this expensive. I feel like they took advantage of me. I would not recommend using this company if you do not want surprise charges or multiple attempts to up sell items that aren't necessary.

Issue: Icing up coils, restricting airflow - causing insufficient A/C to cool house. Pros: Short notice appointment over the weekend, technician was on time 0800 Monday. Tech returned later in week to provide an explanation of issue while I was home. Cons: Very High Dishonest Price quoted to my wife who was home alone at the time of service visit and insufficient explanation from supervisor. Explanation: My wife was home alone tech called management to discuss access to the A/C unit, then quoted her $4,396 to replace evaporator coil on my 2T packaged Trane A/C unit. My A/C unit has a deck built around it making access tight but not impossible so I understand a few more hours of labor may be necessary and cost more but the price still seemed VERY high. After contacting the tech regarding 17 screws which were not replaced following initial visit he agreed to return to discuss initial assessment and return the screws for my panels. Tech returns Wednesday, I ask for an itemization justifying the $4,396. After several re-calculations while insisting the job would be more expensive due to the deck he said it would cost $3,370 and was not able to explain to me why he offered my wife a repair quote for $1,026 more than he did to me. The fact that the initial estimates to her had options saying we would be getting a military discount when in fact we were being severely over quoted. I voiced my displeasure to the evening manager over what felt like dishonest price gouging and gave him a day to provide me a response regarding why my family was presented this price discrepancy. When we spoke the next day the manager, George, said due to the condition and location of my A/C unit Michael & Sons would not conduct the repair. (This was a first heard. I have 2 separate official quotes listing the repair price from earlier in the week). He further explained, "You were provided the repair cost to show that the overall replacement was a better option due to the high repair price." (their replacement quote was $8K-9K depending on options). He offered no explanation for why I was over quoted by more than $1K nor why I was never told they would not do a repair until I asked about the price gouging. It felt like they tried to take advantage of my wife while I was away and jacked up the price of repair to encourage an expensive replacement option. I was not comfortable with the technician or the Supervisor's response. I recommend you look for elsewhere if you can, as I did.
