Electrician arrived on time and was polite, took care to keep the house clean (booties etc). He worked quickly and seemed to know what he was doing; he was polite throughout. However, he really tried to up-sell; their company offers an annual plan and he tried to encourage me to go for it. He was still polite, but he didn't want to take "no" for an answer. After the service visit, he sent a card a few days later to follow up and make sure everything was OK. That was a nice touch.

Everyone I encountered was completely friendly and professional. When the technician came to provide an estimate, I was very pleased...right up until he showed me the numbers. First, the cost quoted for the water heater itself was approx $900, as opposed to $400 I had priced elsewhere. Also, he pushed extras (fancy valve, overpressure release tank, etc.) to bring the total estimate over $1800. As soon as he left I called Home Depot, who delivered and installed a new water heater for under $650. I do not plan to call Michael & Son for anything in the future. ***UPDATE*** A Manager from Michael & Son called me regarding my experience. He was eager to do whatever he could to fix my impression of their company. As he put it, I "didn't receive the Michael & Son experience." He explained that their higher prices reflected their exceptional service, expertise, and professionalism and that in his opinion the prices are cempetitive with other professional plumbers, as opposed to discount home improvement chains. I will admit that the customer service I saw was impressive. Their prices, however, still seem much too high.

Overall, my experience with them was great. It was smooth and went very well. They did a good job. We had one person who came out. He was personable and professional. He actually spent more time than I figured he would spend, and he was pretty thorough. They are pretty good with their customer service - they really know how to engage their customers. The price was reasonable and not over the top. I would use them again in the future if needed.

The company is extremely professional. From the dispatch operator to the technician who comes to your door. The company calls you 24 hours in advance to remind you of your service and they give you a 4 hour window and a 30 minute advance appointment call. A GREAT feature for busy people...who don't have time to wait around for service! Both the electric work and plumbing work were done quickly and to specfications without any surprises or extra charges that weren't expected. Price was higher than anticipated, but the company requires that all technicians work from the same rate book. They make sure all their technicians pass drug testing and are carefully screened. They offer continuing education to their technicians... in essence..you get what you pay for and the company is professional, upstanding and makes sure you get the best that you can get. I would recommend Michael and Son Services to anyone.

Chuck was very kind and pleasant. He put down a cloth pad where he was working in our garage so that he was able to keep it clean. He also wore shoe covers. I felt very comfortable leaving him there to work while I went to pick up my daughter from school. I would recommend this company very highly to all my friends and family.
